It’s near to the train station, to the city centre and shopping district. There is a supermarket right in front of the hotel. Few bars and laundry service as well are nearby. The room is clean, simple. Just bed and one small side table, no cupboard. The heater was ok, warm enough. Shared bathroom, quite clean. The bed linen are clean as well. One thing about the hotel is that it’s really noisy at bed time. I guess it happens to any hotel which is located in the city, maybe the hotel need to add some noise proof window at every rooms
The biggest plus is the location, however, it comes with a price. As it is a very old building all the noise of the street is inside of the room. The road next to it is very busy and there was some kind of barrier or sth on the road that whenever a car/motorcycle passes it makes a horrible sound. We heard it all night. The staff was nice and friendly. The room was clean and okay but as the building is very old the showers and facilities were not perfect. Some guests take the water boiler in their room and, the staff couldn't find them at all. I don't know why they let them take it in the first place or didn't keep a track of it. The internet was not working at all.
I reserved a single room for 2 nights at the Hotel Pensione Ottaviani in Florence and was scammed and cheated by the manager Chandan. The room I was given looks absolutely nothing like the pictures on the hotel website or Hotels.com page. I have attached photos I took as a reference. The WiFi and hot water was also not working properly. After complaining to Hotels.com directly, the customer service rep told me she spoke with the hotel, and they agreed to refund me the 2nd night if I stayed the 1st night as a courtesy for the inconvenience. However, when I was ready to check out on Saturday morning, the lady at the front desk refused to refund me the 2nd night, and Chandan told me over the phone that he wouldn't approve a refund.
I wanted book a cheap hotel near center town, but finally it was not a good experience. When we came inside our room, it was very dirty. We said to clean because it was really hard stay there. Bathroom was super dirty too. Sometimes floor was super black because people came there when it was wet after some people took shower. Not warm water and in 2 days they didn't change our towels. And our room n.18 was behind elevator. It was very old and every time it moved, it seemed that something exploded. I advice to spend a little more and don't stress like us
My review may be a bit harsh as I stayed for two nights during a giant heat wave that Florence had....and there is no air conditioning. My first night I had the room to myself so I was able to have the fan on just myself, but it was still very uncomfortable. My second night I was sharing so the fan was moving to be on all of us-it didn't really work. We had to have the windows open-as one of them wouldn't shut anyway, which meant that it was noisy all night long. The beds weren't very comfortable, pillows were horrible. Bathrooms seemed to be kept clean, but the shower part didn't actually have a light in it so i was always showering in the dark. I didn't find the staff helpful or friendly either. I'd recommend staying elsewhere
The people at reception were very nice and helpfull. The hotel is near the center. BUT the room doesnt have A/C or TV. The bedrooms are very uncomfortable and the room is ugly. The general state of cleanliness was good.
booked this and the pictures are NOTHING like the real thing, the rooms are disgusting, furniture falling apart, broken tiles no private bathroom tried another room and this too was disgusting we didnt even bring our luggage in we asked for our money back and they refused THESE PEOPLE ARE THIEVES the cost of the room for what it is is disgraceful the bedding was dirty and stained it is the most disgusting hotel I have ever been in in my life!
We payed 25€/night and we stayed in a four bed room. It was really hot when we were there and the cooling system was a fan in the ceiling and an open window (fortunately with a mosquito net because there really are many with this hot) but it was enough. There's some noise from the outside but you get used to it quickly. The room was clean and there was a sink in the bedroom to do the most basic hygiene stuff. In our floor there were two bathrooms with shower and they were also very clean. There isn't a kitchen but they'll let you use the fridge to keep your food. Also you can ask for a locker for free to keep valuable stuff. The staff was really nice and helpful and they'll give you a map of the city if you ask. I would go back :-)
I wish I had read the reviews before I booked this, I usually do I do not know why I did not! This hotel is located perfectly, but that is it. Bathrooms were awful, falling apart and unkept. Rooms were dated and beds too close together. Cheap but not even worth what you pay for! Stay elsewhere, especially if you are a solo female traveler, one of the night staff made me feel extremely uncomfortable!! The other was lovely but I did not feel safe.
ישראלים להתרחק! (דמיינו את התחנה המרכזת בת"א או דירת עובדים זרים As soon as I arrived at the hostel, I left things in the room and immediately went out to look for a new place to stay at 11 pm. The room where I was housed is defernt than what the pictures show when you make the order. When I came to the reception and complained, the clerk lied and said that he could not handle it because it was the first day he worked at the hostel (an hour later when I arrived at another hotel nearby, so i found out that it was another hotel belonging to the same owner (Because that clerk was there too). I left the hostel the next morning at 7 am and the woman in charge took me for 2 nights, even though I slept there only one night.).
