The number one best thing about this hotel was the view, it took my breath away every morning and evening when opening and closing the curtains. The second best thing was how central it was, such a perfect location and short walk to everything that we wanted to see. The hotel itself was very clean and staff were very friendly and kind. I loved the eco-friendly side of the hotel and the quirky art. The bed was very comfortable and shower was powerful. We didn't get the breakfast but I am sure that was great too. No complaints for this hotel, I would definitely recommend it and if I was to ever return to beautiful Florence then I would stay here in this lovely hotel.
Only 5 mins walk from the Duormo, close to buses and taxis, and many restaurants and cafes. The rooms are very clean and bathrooms are spotless and fresh. This hotel has character and the reception staff are friendly. Had breakfast at hotel on one morning - generally a good choice of foods and fresh juice too. Pancakes and omelettes are made in machines. Loved the funky picture frames, pictures and wall murals. A fun and quirky place to stay and with a small old style lift.
I was there a year ago, as a solo traveller. The room was really clean and comfortable. Also I had a tiny balcony with a spectacular Florance view. If only the room wasn't too small, but it's enough for one person nonetheless...
I am a teacher and just returned from a European trip with 26 students and 4 adults. This was our first stop and it was a perfect little hotel. It was centrally located and accommodated us beautifully. Our students got a taste of the local culture by staying in an authentic city hotel. The breakfast was wonderful (and believe me these girls can really eat) and the hotel is filled with artwork made by - I believe - the owner. The roof top terrace offers a beautiful view of the city and the Duomo. This is not a luxury hotel but we didn't need luxury. If I was traveling on my own I would feel fine staying here.
The good- hotel was placed perfectly to walk around and see all of Florence and for €26 they parked the car so didn't have to worry about that. The receptionist Tony was very nice and explained all on arrival, loved the quirky lift and most of the art.The bad-The room was clean albeit very tired, furniture I think came straight from a house clearance and maybe some of the quirky art could do with updating and not very comfortable. A bit over priced as well.
I stayed here in 2015 and again this year 2017. It's a little gem not far from all the action. I'd say about 6 blocks from the Duomo. I love the grass root art. The owner was very nice. It's very clean and welcoming. This will also be my stay next time I come.
Until my last day in this hotel everything was ok. The view from the terrace was amaizing, the breakfast was okeish but this is not the reason why i am writing this review. In the last day of our stay, in the day we had our flight, i didn't find my wallet with all my documents and money inside. Lucky me i had my passport with my boyfriend. I told the people from the reception but they told me maybe i misplaced it but that was impossible! The night before as we came into the room i took money from my wallet and let it on the table . We just left the room to go to our parent's room for an hour and came back to sleep. The next morning after breakfast when we were making our luggages i realised my wallet was missing! So an advice for everyone don't leave your wallet even though is in your own room!
If you are looking for clean and convenient then this place is not for you. We had a group staying and we were all separated onto different floors which would have been ok but it was like a maze of different halls and levels. The beds were the most uncomfortable I have stayed in and the décor dated and not that clean. The bedspread looked threadbare and as if it had been through the washer way too many times. It could do with a good overhaul to make it better and the "art" was also questionable. The breakfast was average but once again had a magnificent view to make up for it. With one lift that fitted about two people in it and rooms being up several flights, this place is suitable only for the fit. If you have a room beyond the lift limits then you will be dragging your bag up a long way. The only saving grace for this place was the terrace with a view over the city and Duomo. If you could pitch a tent on the terrace then this would have been better than staying in the rooms. I have a feeling that if you are going for the price then maybe a youth hostel might be a good alternative. The walk to the centre was ok but there are many more alternatives with facilities nearby closer to all the sites and activities Florence has to offer.
The Panorama Hotel is in a reasonable location a few minutes' walk from the Galleria dell'Accademia where Michelangelo's statue of David is housed, and about 15-20 minutes' walk from the Duomo in the heart of Florence. It bills itself as an art hotel, but we found the art to be, well, a little odd -- my children described it as the kind of art you see on the walls of children's hospitals. Overall, we found the hotel to have some really delightful features mixed with some serious flaws. The good: The rooms are large and are kept very clean, the bathrooms are small but nicely done with great water pressure in the shower, the staff are very welcoming and helpful, there is a pleasant little bar/kitchen area next to reception where you can sit and get a hot or cold drink at any time, and there are beautiful views of Florence from the breakfast room and from the rooftop terrace on the fourth floor. The less good: The furnishings in the rooms are really cheap/old, with uncomfortable, hospital-like beds on slats that kept falling to the floor, electricity sockets hanging out of the wall, and a small fridge that leaked water onto the floor in our room. Also the hot water in the showers was a little unreliable and failed entirely one day, preventing us and other guests from showering. Breakfasts were also very meager and unvarying (although it was still very pleasant to sit in the breakfast room with its lovely view). Also, we asked for two quiet rooms next to each other, but ended up receiving two rooms some distance down the corridor from each other, and while one of them was quiet, the other was right on Cavour Street and was not. Finally, like many hotels in Europe, they do not have their air conditioning set on cold until well into the summer, and as it was already quite warm when we were there (April) and we couldn't open the windows because of the noise from the street, we had some hot and uncomfortable nights.
This is a little gem of a hotel about 15 mins walk from the centre of Florence. We didn't expect much but we were wrong. The decor is art inspired and has a quirky feel. It's evident that the hotel is eco friendly and encourages recycling. The rooms are a decent size with a tiny but functional bathroom cleaned everyday. The breakfast/coffee wasn't the best but I made do with toast. The breakfast room did make up for it though with its views. The best feature of this hotel was the rooftop terrace with breathtaking views of florence. There's also a cute little sitting room which has a cosy look and feel. There is also a cute little bar should you wish to use it. The hotel is near lots of shops/eating places and the museum housing the statue of David. Of course don't miss the popular sites of florence like the duomo, palace and ponte vecchio, these are breath taking. This is a wonderful city with lots to see and do and the Panorama hotel is a great base to do it from.
