Great location for a hotel! Near by train station and just a short walk from the city center. Just wanted to say a special thank you to Francesca at the front desk for being extremely accommodating, understanding, and helpful. Thanks!!!
Our experience at this hotel was great! The staff were very friendly, helpful & obliging. The full buffet breakfast was awesome & was included in our package. The hotel room was spacious, clean & comfortable. Free wifi is included as well. Would recommend to anyone
My husband, teenage daughter an I were to stay at this motel for two nights. Unfortunately on arrival we were informed that they had had an "issue" with their reservations system and had to move us to a different motel for our first night. As we had arranged a tour that afternoon and another the following day, this was far from ideal. The staff were nice about it, however given that it was their problem they couldn't be any other way. They paid for the taxi to and from the other motel and allowed us to have breakfast the following morning. When we finally booked into our room we found the room to be of a comfortable size, however the beds were uncomfortable, with my daughter on a fold out couch. This motel was in a great position, close to the railway station and in walking distance to the main tourist area. I wouldn't rush to stay here again.
As others have said hotel is in a great location near the railway ststion and key sights, staff were friendly, helpful and charming, breakfast buffet was good, our room on the third floor was quite small but adequate, bed was comfortable clean and room had a fridge, bathroom clean but rather a squeeze to the loo round the bidet, and the shower head was a bit erratic and no hair conditioner, the decor was drab and dated with worn wooden furniture which needs updating and the towels whilst clean were going grey rather than white and were frayed, hotel is adequate if you can get it for a good price and you are looking for a place to lay your head for a weekend I would recommend it There are lots of nice bars and restaurants within easy walking distance.
Nice hotel with good location. Small breakfast zone would make some problems but breakfast is really good and various. Our room was a bit small but enough for two. Hotel is 450 Meters to train station and around 10 minutes to Duomo. I would suggest to every body.
The hotel is nicely situated between the train station (but not too close!) and the river - a pleasant walk from pretty much everything you've probably gone to Florence to see. Prior to arrival the staff answered emails promptly and, during our stay were able to arrange a restaurant for a large group booking at very short notice. My booking was for a single room and I can join the other reviewers who have commented that these tend to be quite small - as I was not intending to re-stage the Olympics or entertain guests, this was really not a problem. The bed was comfortable (a deliciously hard mattress) and extra pillows/blankets were available. The wardrobe was fine although a hanger or two more would have been welcome and the drawers in the dressing table were very shallow (slightly compensated for as they did run the entire width of the table top). The safe in the wardrobe was very easy to use (in spite of the instructions only being in Italian, Spanish, Greek or Arabic - but others in my party had English on theirs), but I was quite glad that I hadn't brought my laptop as I'm not sure it would have fitted. The lighting was quite low in the bedroom but pleasantly so - and the lights in the bathroom were easily bright enough for make-up application etc. My room faced on to the street and, as you would expect, it was quite noisy: passers-by late at night, bin collection in the early morning. On the final night I also realised that hithertofore I had had no next-door neighbours, all of a sudden I did - and every loo flush, shower running or sneeze became a communal experience. Earplugs and a preparatory glass or two of prosecco seemed to provide a pretty good solution! There was a television in the room but the reception was rather bad and the wifi signal was really poor (mostly non-existent) but this seemed to be a quirk of the position of my room as no one else in the party had complaints in that direction. Breakfast was a typical mix of trying to please most cultural tastes (eggs, bread, cereals, cheeses, cold meats, pastries (excellent pastries - sadly for my waistline) etc). Juice, water, tea and coffee were served - although the coffee was really disappointing for Italy (fear not - plenty of nearby cafés!) And - unusually in my experience of Italian hotels - there were two lifts, both of which worked and didn't take an absolute age. All in all, a perfectly decent hotel and a pleasant stay.
The hotel location is perfect, near to everything you could possibly want, transport links, shops, stunning architecture and historical sights. Such a beautiful city!!! The facilities at the hotel are ok, the rooms are adequate but there are some issues which need to be addressed. The light is in the rooms is dull, only coming from 2 out of 3 lamps available as one didn't work. The sound on the tv didn't work, we we're on the ground floor and i would defiantly recommend earplugs because of the noise from passers by and dustcarts. The choice of drink at the bar is very limited and not very well stocked, in fact the beer we had was out of date but we weren't charged. The worst thing was the fact that the beds we're so hard so we had a very uncomfortable few nights. If these things were addressed it would live up to it's 4 star rating. The breakfast choice was lovely, fresh fruit and pastries, meats and cheeses, yoghurts, cake, biscuits, cereal and toast plus some lovely buttery scrambled egg. There was also bacon and sausages but the sausages were hot dogs and the bacon the usual continental style but adequate. Without doubt, the staff at this hotel are it's biggest asset, they are polite, friendly and helpful. Thank you for making our stay so welcoming.
How much you like this hotel will probably depend on how much time you spend indoors. I was there to have breakfast, sleep and shower, so it was absolutely fine for the few nights I was in Florence, but if you like to hang around and chill in your room it'd be less fine. First off, location: five minutes from the main train station and where the shuttle from Peretola stops, a block from the Arno, a few streets off the fancy shopping district of Tornabuoni and about twenty minutes walk from Ponte Vecchio, it's pretty conveniently located for almost everything. There's a minimarket around the corner, some good restaurants within a few minutes walk, and the Mercato Centrale is about ten minutes away - perfect for all your food needs. It's a surprisingly busy and noisy street in the mornings is the only downside, but unless you have a room on the terrace that's not really much of an issue. The breakfast, it has to be said, is fantastic. Huge and varied, with everything from salads and pastries to eggs, cured meats and cheese, it caters for pretty much everything you could want, and is good quality - the pastries were excellent, and everything nice and fresh. Proper coffee is available on request if you fancy something better than the filter brew. The room itself, and by the looks of the plan this goes for most of the rest, was small, even for a single, but had everything you could need for limited requirements. The lighting's not great, but just about does; the TV didn't really work (again not a problem if you're not watching it anyway); but the bed was comfy enough, and wifi worked most of the time, so as a brief stop it was fine. The terrace on the third floor would be nice in spring/summer, but in February was a bit brisk. Very friendly staff though, and the decor was quite interesting (nice prints in the rooms and replica statues interspersed throughout), while wheelchair access is maintained throughout with a pair of good, if slightly small, lifts. Their four star rating is very generous, but it merits a look if you don't really need all that much from your hotel.
Superb location to explore Florence on foot and 5 minutes top from the station, as well as easy to find. You simply go to the end of the road and walk alongside the Arno river, with a spectacular view wherever you look. Yes there is morning noise but you are in the middle of the city. The room was fairly compact but we were sight seeing and the little balcony and wooden shutters were quite charming. All the staff we met here were exceptionally friendly, with a sense of humour and great attitude. The standards were high and, since it is Florence, the sculptures in reception do not look out of place. Excellent choice of breakfast fruit and continental breakfast plus lovely light croissants. Like most European places, an attempt at English breakfast results in gorgeous buttery scrambled eggs and pretty tasteless bacon. The coffee however that was bought to your table was sinful heaven and I usually only drink tea. There is a fantastic family restaurant around the corner where the food is a delicious proper, home cooked delicious feast and amazing value. I would go back to this hotel to see more of this jewelled city and eat their incredible food.
My husband and I stayed here for only one night the day we arrived in Firenze. It was conveniently located very close to the train station where we walked from to the hotel. The staff was great and rooms were very nice. We didn't wake up in time for breakfast, so I can't review on that. My husband and I were tired from jet-lag.
