Reasonable walking distance from Stazione Centrale (15') and most major attractions (20-30'). We appreciated the spacious family/loft suite with separate sleeping areas - however the balcony was small (standing only) and the washroom was shockingly tiny! Good continental breakfast with bread, pastries, cold cuts, cheese, juice, coffee, etc. Friendly, attentive and helpful staff/host. Good value.
This hotel was not the greatest. The bathroom is gross and it's hard to even shower. We actually refused to shower in it and waiting until we left to take a shower. (Thankfully we were only there for one night). The bathroom smells like mildew. The hotel is right on a main highway which isn't ideal for families with small children. The stairs up to the loft were broken. The rooms are also very old and outdated. I would spend a bit more to get something more modern. Also, the breakfast isn't the greatest. The only good thing was the orange juice...
People were friendly and place was clean. Our room had a lovely balcony too! Breakfast was nice and there was a big selection of food. Everything walking distance. Saw so much in the 2 hours that we were in Florence!
Stayed here for two nights. From Stazione Centrale (SMN) cross the traffic light turn left, first corner turn right keep walking along Via Valfonda and Viale Filippo Strozzi, entrance is on the main road. If you know the way, takes about 15 mins, if you need to drag your luggage along the cobble street and look for the place it took us 30 mins first time. Walking to the Duomo takes about 15-20 mins. Overall, the place is quite ran down, at least for the room we stayed in (top floor), if they renovate it I'm sure it can be a nice hotel. Breakfast is basic. Service Average. Will we go back? Probably not
This was, without a doubt, the worst hotel room we ever stayed in, but certainly not the cheapest. The rooms are very old with mold on walls and ceilings. The bathroom faucet was broken. The breakfast was the worst we ever had, there's not even a toaster. The only good things about this hotel are the location and the fact that it was clean
I've stayed in many expensive hotels but this one is the worst. First of all, everything is filthy. I'm pretty sure that they never washed/vacuum the floor and I wonder if they changed sheets before I arrived... Everything what you can imagine is broken starting from shower and finishing with the door. INCREDIBLY noise as rooms face a huge street. It took me a few hours just to fall asleep. It's very hot inside and of course there is no air conditioner. Poor breakfast and (beware!!!) you are watched while you're eating. The receptionist literally counted what I got for breakfast. She entered the breakfast room several times and carefully looked into my mouth and my plate to make sure that I didn't eat too much. I'd suggest to avoid this hotel at all cost. This is 2* according to tripadvisor but even 1* is too much for it. Please refer to the attached photos. Forgot to mention that in the morning I found out that anyone could enter y room even if it's locked as the door lock was broken, just push the door slightly and it will open.
This is definitely a 5Star hotel. We were awed by our double story room, very Italian and cosy room. The man in charged named Giovanni was very friendly and helpful. The buffet style breakfast was fantastic! So many cakes, croissants and jams selection and we were served by this very nice old lady. Although the hotel is quite the walking distance to the train station (we don't mind cause we love to walk) but once u arrived at the hotel it's all worth it.. I would definitely recommend this hotel if u ever come to Firenze.
Loved Hotel Fedora. Stayed here with my husband and 2 young children for a night whilst visiting Florence. Hotel owner was extremely friendly and helped us out no end. From booking us our transfer taxis, getting us a kettle for our baby's night feed as well as helping a panicked mother with ice and a towel for my daughter when she bumped her head! (She is fine now!) Beds were comfortable, we had lots of room and free wifi! Breakfast was great as well, plenty to choose from, cold meat and cheese, cakes, croissants and yogurts. A great selection. It has a real quirky feel this hotel, it's situated in an old building which really adds to the experience. We found it was a reasonable walking distance from the train station and centre of Florence. A great value place to stay and we would certainly stay again when we come back to Florence.
Room was nice, air conditioning was necessary in summer. Continental breakfast is included with the meal. Our room was for 4 people, we had a stairwell with a bed upstairs. Hosts were very nice. We would stay again.
We spent 5 nights in the hotel with 15 pupils (quiet type of !) and have been very wellcome, for any question we asked, and for any organisation we needed, with kindness. The owner speaks french. The rooms are spacious, some rooms used as bathrooms too, and one room has a balcony. Most of the rooms look onto the street, and can be noisy because some windows do not close that well. As we got up early, it was not that uncomfortable. Special mention for the breakfast. I can say that the value for money is really good.
