Got so much mosquitos bites! Very noisy place next to a park that seem they play games in the late evening! The lady owner is not very friendly! Not my style of place to stay! I thought it was a hotel but more like a B&B!
We stayed here for almost a week, it has good location, easy to walk to the center, to the train station. Negatives: Room was not clean, dusts in fake flowers, heater, lights, ventilator. (although bed was made everyday, towels were changed) Bathroom is really small and had strange smell. It is good to stay for few nights just to sleep and take a shower, but for this price i think you can get better place. It claims to be 3* hotel, but in Milan we stayed in 2* and it was much better..
We just stayed here for 2 nights last week, rooms are very small & the bathroom is tiny, im 6ft - 190lbs and i could not turn around in the shower,,, Location was perfect though, i read some reviews that it was loud but i did not find it too bad at all. Breakfast is not great, basics, cereal, fruit, dry cake , great coffee though. The view is amazing overlooking florence at sunset. I think if your staying for one or two nights & you do not spend too much time in your rooms this place is great
Pro: - location was near the station and city center which is a plus - Reception staff were very nice and willing to give advice regarding on what to visit in Florence. - rich breakfast giving the fact we were in Italy. - clean room - large bed Con: - small room - noisy at night because of the square in front of the hotel. but was bearable - the room we stayed was at somehow an attic. i would have preferred a normal floor. Overall , we would stay again at this hotel and recommend it.
It was very hard to find the hotel itself - just pay attention while you have arrived. it's in 3rd floor (formerly appartment converted to hotel)., Rooms are very old and not well equipped. I liked staff - 2 guys which were very gentle but, facility is not in a good condition, AC was not working, heater was working but switched off (dont know why) - bathroom is very noisy (fan), Brkfst is not soo good, but could be managed - but still, location is perfect and do not think that, money worth to spend there - there was Wifi - but signal was very poor - better not to have it at all
Piazza dell'Independenza is a good location as it is near the station and centre. The hotel has some charm with its old-fashioned furniture and vintage lift (out of order on the first day, a bit of a problem since reception is on the third floor). I'm not sure it's woth three stars; the rooms are quite small, the shower is narrow, with water taking ages to warm up and zero pressure once it's hot. The mattress seemed a bit soft in my taste, but I slept really well, so no complaint about that. Buffet breakfast was not much, but on the plus side you can have it on a terrace.
Negatives: It turned out that a room facing Piazza della Indipendenza was not the advantage we expected: almost very night there were noisy gatherings of area residents in the piazza (which is really a park), which interfered with our slumber. And the absence of a screen on the window meant that keeping the windows open for ventilation also allowed some pesky mosquitoes to enter, which also adversely affected our slumber. Also, a group of teenage tourists in the rooms on the floor above ours were astonishingly noisy the first night they were there. Positives: Carlo, the primary concierge. The 1929 lift. Its location a bit away from the tourist activity.
We only spent one night there. It was very clean and the room was a nice size. It how ever a little hard to find. My husband went and walked around and finally found it. When he came back the manager was with him and took our bags to our room while we parked. If ever get back to Italy I would go there again.
verry typical hotel of Florence situated in the centre of the city, I stayed here for 5 nights and have realy nothing negative to declare and I work in the hotel business myself, very charmy and friendly personel which are allways at your disposal, beatiful and comfortable rooms. all ok. I recommend this hotel to everyone!!!
It was our first experience with a hotel 3 floors above ground level. There are some medical offices and a hospital in the area but we didn't hear any sirens. Entry was at a nondescript door at the street. You push a button to announce yourself as a guest and they unlock the door. Then you ride the old fashioned elevator up to the hotel. It's a little strange at first, but you get used to it. The room decor was trendy, but the rest of the interior and building were more traditional. The double room was a bit small for two people, even married as we are. The building faces a park and our room window opened at 5 floors above ground with a beautiful view of the city and the Duomo. It was great for the two nights we stayed. We really enjoyed the sense of space and uncrowdedness (especially in Florence) afforded by the park for this location. It was near the Accademia (David) and a short walk to the Duomo and Ufizzi. The staff was friendly and speaks English. I really enjoyed speaking with Carlo. We had some good conversations.
