Hotel was nice, decent location with a very nice parking lot. I was very concerned about driving throug ZTL, but with the GPS, I was able to navigate without hitting the ZTL zones (I hope) The checkin was nice, staff was nice but what I really did not like was that everytime you leave they ask you to hand over your room keys. I understand that they dont want people to lose keys but I have never ever been to a hotel that requests you to hand over the keys. To me, this more of a personal security concern. There isn't even Do Not Disturb signs available. When we came back from dinner, the room was cleaned and all our things were moved around. I trust that the cleaners were ok, I just do not like someone coming into my room when im not there and touching my things, jewelery, electronics, laptops, personal things etc. Everyday we were there, we had to say please dont clean the room. It was a nuisance.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. But the wifi was down for most of our stay. Our room smelled like mildew, so we switched rooms. The new room had more space and higher ceilings, but the bathroom was still less than I expected for a 4star hotel. The king beds were just two twin mattresses pushed together, so you can't cuddle.

nice small hotel with old world charm. good location. can walk to train and old Florence. helpful staff. large room and bath with balcony that overlooks Duomo. good buffett breakfast. would go back.

the hotel was very noisy, location was actually great and misquetoes where still a problem in october. air condining was ok at best couldnt leave windows open due to misquetoes. Breakfast was better than most could order eggs on request.

Our lovely room faced the Arno River. Some rooms face their elegant garden. The staff recommended for lunch a nice cafe around the corner. For dinner, recommended, within walking distance, an excellent restaurant. One of best meals we had in Italy. Dinner of two was $100 (included tip). About two blocks away you can board the Hop-On-Hop-Off tour bus. Ponte Vecchio about 1 mile. Free parking. Breakfast was in small dining room. Table linens. Definitely would stay there again.

An awesome European experience... The hotel staff was awesome about getting us reservations to the Uffizi and the Academia... Also don't forget to catch the views from the top of the other (very expensive) hotel 1 block away just after sunset for the best views of Firenze.... Enjoy!

This hotel was a like a Victorian-decorated house. It was beautiful. Rooms had antique furniture, so not much counter space anywhere. Very helpful staff, carried our bags and showed us to our room. Very secure parking and they even let us leave the car the next day after check-out. Conveniently close to city center, easily within walking distance of museums and churches.

Hotel has a great location, just across the street from the river. Breakfast was good. There is a patio on the room with the best views of the city. Great place to watch a sunset. Rooms were clean, comfortable. Staff was very helpful and kind. Would stay there again on our next trip to Florence.

Great value! Wonderful front desk. Spacious rooms. Fine breakfast included in beautiful space with good service. Free parking and internet. A little further from the center (15-20 min).

Very good example of a European hotel. Nice continental breakfast included. Hotel is in a great location facing the Arno and about 4 blocks from Ponte Vecchio. Also very convenient to train station. Rooms are small but have the amenities one would expect such as high speed wireless (which worked flawlessly). Very helpful staff and they are multilingual.

Better than the NYC Plaza...view from balcony overlooking the Arno from Point Vecchio west...your neighbor is the US Consulate. Four blocks from Duomo...what a beautiful building, well maintained, large rooms and the staff is absolutely the best I've encountered in Europe. Breakfast was great and served with impeccable style. What can you say about a hotel that changes its welcome carpet daily (it's white linen..really) and has a private garden complete with wisteria everywhere and a koi pond. Don't miss this one...you'll be torn between seeing the treasures of Florence and just staying at the Hotel Principe Florence

Very friendly staff. Good breakfast buffet. Easy to walk to all the main sites.

We were a group of 6 people aged 7 - 70. We had three lovely rooms on the first floor (2nd story in US). They gave us a larger room with a Queen bed and an extra twin for my son at no extra charge. The hotel has an old world charm which is reflected in the antique furnishings and decor. In places it is a bit worn (carpets in public areas) but this in no way detracts from the overall feeling of ease and comfort one has. Rooms in the original part of the hotel are large and have very high ceilings and original woodwork and moldings - you will feel as if you have stepped back in time. Bathrooms are in most cases large with old marble floors and walls. Some rooms have balconies though none of ours did. The roof deck has fabulous views. The breakfast room is attractive and the continental buffet is quite abundant with fairly good variety, including fresh juice. The last day I was there I stayed in a single on the 4th floor which is new construction and this part of the hotel was not nearly as nice as in the original part of the building. The room was small with very thin walls and I could hear my neighbors talking. The hotel location on the Arno is very nice but it is a 10-15 minute walk to most of the major attractions so this should be kept in mind. I think it is worth it to be right on the river though. Staff at the hotel is very helpful.

We have been to Florence 4 - 5 times and this by far was our best experence much tributed to the hotel and it's staff. It was our 40th wedding anniverary and they did all anyone could do to make it memorable. They should change the name to Domandare e ricivere.

The staff were great. Got a room with a balcony overlooking the river. Walked the city and visited all the main sites of this wonderful city.

This was our first trip to Florence and we were a little concerned with a location that was close enough to the center, but not in the middle of the very crowded streets. We were extremely pleased with our choice. It was a 10 minute walk to just about anything. Being on the river and away from the crowds made for a peaceful location. The staff was excellent. They helped us out with logistics for 3 different excursions including train selection. The morning breakfast was much more than we were expecting for an Italian breakfast. The room was spacious and we used the terrace each night for a relaxing "happy hour". When we return, we will definitely repeat at this lodging.
