After travelling on a Viking cruise, we stayed over for one night at the Grand Minerva Hotel. It had rained all day and so we decided just to stay at the hotel and have dinner. What a great experience! We had the tasting menu and each small plate was amazing! They even produced a gluten free pasta for one of my courses. Lovely staff, including reception. Also, it’s very close to the train station. When you stay in Florence, stay and eat here, you won’t be disappointed.

Really good service and good accommodation close walk to the duomo and great view form the roof view and close to all church's, great atmosphere around the hotel but allot of Gypsy's, nice looking hotel and good rooms

Just amazing. There was delicious breakfast included. However, the biggest thing that surprised me was the amount of space given! The rooms were extremely large and not what i was expecting, but in a very good way. The service was great, and the people were very friendly. The rooms were cleaned many times, and you never have to worry about your shampoo or towels or anything else being cleaned again or replenished! It is in an extremely convenient area. I️ was expecting it to be louder than it was, but it was reasonably quiet. The view was magnificent. I could see the Duomo from my room. The WiFi was pretty slow, but overall I had a fantastic stay at Grand Hotel Minerva!

I'm writing this review on our stay at the Grand Hotel Minerva last week just prior to the Christmas holiday. We stayed in the Duplex Suite over several days and it was everything we hoped it would be. The room was very clean, very comfortable and spacious for the 4 of us. The hotel was overall extremely clean and well manicured. It was incredibly easy for all of us to be very relaxed during our stay in Florence thanks to this hotel. I personally enjoyed the morning breakfast buffet and the friendly staff that worked that area as well. The most amazing aspect of our stay however was indeed the staff. Two staff members really stand out the most, they are Marianna, at the front desk and Francisco, the bar manager. Marianna was extremely attentive to our every need, functioned frequently as our concierge, and was very helpful with information about the local area. Francisco was an amazing bartender, and provided great conversation with handmade drinks, and was extremely friendly to not just myself, but to the other patrons. He made an Egg-nog martini from scratch for someone and poured folks a shot to sample it; truly amazing stuff. We had an amazing time and look forward to coming back to stay as soon as we can work out a week into our busy schedules!

It’s a nice 4-Star property located very centrally . Walking distance to the Train station (inter-city route), bus terminal to outlets. The rooms are neatly renovated . Lapsed on the housekeeping cleanliness but for a 4 star standard , I believe we can’t demerit them much as you can tell the effort they have tried . No need to dine in the restaurants . There’s lines and restaurants all around the hotel and every corner. Even post office is right behind about 2 mins walk if you need to send anything . One major mistake of the hotel is the telephone directory. There is no place card near the phone or instructions nearby to tell you how to dial to operator or Reception. Pressing “0” doesn’t help. To call operator or Reception, you have to dial #9. Overall stay at Florence is a good experience where we get to enjoy the local ambience.

This is a lovely hotel, in a fantastic location for exploring Florence. The staff friendly and helpful and the rooms are spacious and well equipped. If I had any criticisms, it would be that the room service menu was limited and the quality of the food wasn't up to the standard I would expect of the hotel. With young children we often find ourselves returning to our hotels and using room service in the evening but had to rely on takeaways from the local restaurants in this case. Also the default cleaning hours are up to 7pm, and we often wanted to return to the room during the maid service. A quick word with reception however and the cleaning was done earlier so this problem was easily remedied. We were a little disappointed with Florence as a destination (too many smokers everywhere; streets covered in dog poop that no one seems to pick up; museums closing at odd hours / not especially good quality) so we won't be returning but that is no reflection on the hotel and we would happily recommend the Minerva as a base to anyone visiting the city.

The hotel is centrally located in the city. You can walk to the popular landmarks in ten minutes. Train station is just a five minute walk. Room was well appointed. We even had a view of the Santa Maria Novella church and square. Bathroom was very clean. Breakfast was superb. This is the first hotel in Europe we visited, which served rice! Go to the sixth floor of the hotel and find a fantastic view of the city. Staff were very warm and friendly. We would definitely stay here again if we are in Florence.

December in Florence is challenging! All the more reason to stay at this warm and comfortable hotel! The location is excellent, within walking distance of S.M.Novella station and the Duomo. Our room [203] faced the Piazza S.M. Novella - was quiet, comfortable and spacious. We had the luxury of a marble bathroom, a dressing room and a light, airy bedroom. Breakfast was adequate - maybe a better selection of breads would have improved it. However, overall, this was a fabulous place to spend a week.

We checked into the Minerva late on the night of November 20, 2017 since we had checked out of the Lucchesi due to uncleanliness and non-existent customer service. Coming to the Minerva was like a breath of fresh air. We were greeted by courteous staff and a hotel that was immaculate, had beautiful rooms and common areas and which was centrally located minutes from the train station. We enjoyed our stay immensely and would gladly visit the Minerva again. In particular, one staff member, Roberta, stood out from all the others. She greeted us upon arrival and showed us to our room to insure it was to our liking. She continued to be extremely helpful throughout our stay. Again, thank you Roberta for saving us from the Lucchesi!

This hotel is top-notch—from its central location, gorgeous rooftop views and beautifully appointed, spacious rooms and lobby to its professional, extensive concierge services. I can't recommend it more highly. Comfort, traditional-style elegance and charm in the heart of Florence: perfect. We absolutely loved our time at Hotel Grand Minerva and can't wait to return.
