Hotel Grand Minerva was an excellent base for a few days in Florence. Our room was spacious and had a gorgeous view of the square & Duomo in the distance. We chose the hotel for the proximity to the train station (a good choice!), and we found that all major sights/museums are within easy walking distance, even with a toddler. Our one complaint is that the room had issues with the heating system and a very loud hum in the bedroom at night. However, when we called reception they immediately tried to rectify the heat issue by controlling it on their end. That seemed to work, though it would’ve been nice to be able to adjust it directly in the room. We didn’t mention the loud hum until check-out because we didn’t want the hassle of changing rooms. The staff member handling our check-out was very sympathetic and assured us they would look into the cause. The hotel staff seemed very attentive, so I’m sure if we had brought it up in the middle of our stay they would’ve tried to do something about it. The hotel breakfast had a nice selection of something for everyone, and we enjoyed a visit to the roof deck for the spectacular view. Overall a great place for a family to stay!
Everything about this hotel was fantastic. The location was perfect (whithin easy walking distance of everything), the rooms were comfortably huge, the staff was very pleasant and accomodating, the lobby had many couches and comfy chairs to relax in, and the restaurant had great food and a wonderful staff. The best part of this hotel is the rooftop deck and swimming pool. You could order drinks, take a swim, get something to eat, whatever you wanted. And it offered a panoramic view of Florence.
This is a very nice hotel a few minutes walking distance from the train station on a very nice square. The hotel is within walking distance of all the main sites. We stayed in a “family suite” which is two connecting rooms. It was perfect for us with each kid getting their own bed and two bathrooms for the family. A very nice breakfast was included. Staff were very accommodating.
Got off the train in Florence and walked over which was so convenient... Walked through the doors, greeted with friendly smiles and felt such comfort with the amazing decor and service the moment we arrived. Fully renovated with amazing art and details. Our room was spectacular and modern, very clean and comfortable for 3 of us. Every morning in the breakfast room I was impressed with the selection and service... Even calling down when we slept in almost missing breakfast.one day, it was brought up to our room with no additional service fee... They certainly aim to please!!! Before going out to dinner every night we enjoyed a cocktail and treats in the lobby bar that is beautifully designed with a young gentleman who knew his stuff when I came to wine... Even allowing us one night to dine with food while we lounged in the comfy chairs not wanting to sit at the table in the dinning room... One of our most relaxing evenings. We would definitely return 🖤
Rooms are small , no cupboard for storing clothing, rich architecture ,fancy lobby with historic paintings, very bad and expensive lunch, friendly staff, laundry rates are expensive, excellent breakfast, good location.
Perfectly located, super-clean hotel, with very friendly staff and superb breakfast! Reception is very helpful, they can even book you tickets to main attractions. You can only park in front of the hotel until you're packing, they take it to a garage via wallet service and deliver it in 15 mins upon requested. Garage is also taking care of the permission for your plate number to be in the limited traffic zone. Breakfast is above expectations, you really have everything, even lactose/gluten-free stuff upon requested. Rooms are bit tiny, with open wardrobe, but it's really enough, room safe is suitable for laptops as well! Staff is coming to clean and upload the rooms every day (actually believe that multiple times a day) and they're also very friendly and kind. Lobby and corridors having large unique books which you can sit down and read - very interesting and unique experience! You can also find everything in a walking distance: restaurants (check out for Alla Griglia), train station, main attractions (Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, Santa Maria Novelle chatedral, Uffizi...etc.). Really worth the money!
Stayed here recently on business. The hotel was very conveniently located and the common areas are beautiful. The room was big by European standards and very modern and clean. The bed was reasonably comfortable but not the best. My biggest issue was there was no soundproofing between adjoining rooms which meant I could hear absolutely everything from the room next door.
Great location, close to all major attractions. We all had a wonderful stay, the staff were amazing especially with our 5 years old son, the hotel is beautiful and clean. Breakfast had a great selection of cold meats, smoked salmon, cereals, fruit, cakes and hot food.
Just spent 3 nights at Grand Hotel Minerva. We walked everywhere, we got very nice Restaurant recommendations from the hotel (try 13 Gobby delicious!), comfortable rooms and excellent service. We are very grateful with Silvia from Front Desk. Our teen daughter left her iphone at the lobby of the hotel and she realized she didn't had her phone when we were in the train in our way to Rome!!!! We called the hotel and already had the phone with them and Silvia sent it to our hotel in Rome. Thank you Silvia!! and thank you Marianna for keeping us posted!!
Clean and spacious hotel with cozy design. Just few minutes walk from Florence train station, excellent location! Attentive and nice staff. Great restaurant provided delicious tasting dinner during valentine day.
