The best place to take your family if you are in Nadi. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are fully air conditioned with a pool. Drive to town is just 10 -15 mins Looking forward to going back.
We have stayed at the Tanoa a couple of times previously, as a mainland over-nighter at the start and end of our Fiji holidays. It's well set up as a transit hotel with shuttles between the hotel and airport. We were greeted at check in with refreshing cool towels which was a nice touch, and given a suite which was a bonus. The staff are efficient and friendly and the person who checked us in was very attentive, remembering our room and names when we checked out the next morning. Our room was very comfortable, though a bit tired. The hotel was doing renovations to rooms at the far side of the hotel, so it will probably get re-done in time. The grounds of the hotel are always nicely presented, and we enjoyed some time around the pool with a few drinks. We ate at the garden court both for dinner and breakfast, good food both times. Our early morning checkout wasn't a problem, we were able to leave our bags while we had breakfast, and the reception had a shuttle ready for us as soon as we had finished breakfast.
Hi I basically was looking for something private and affordable which was within my budget given they prepared breakfast as well. Breakfast was ok not as good as Naviti and holiday inn breakfast I guess it was enough for people who were on a fast love travel like flight delays and transits. But the room was great, absolutely big enough screen to watch the news and also the bed was very comfortable Staff were very friendly especially this one girl at the reception. She had an excellent personality which is something I was expecting after a long drive and tired day. Very private and something I needed for rest for one night.
Staff were warm and friendly and meals in restaurant were good. Pool little on small side and not enough deck chairs or umbrella's . Spa not working pump broken. On arrival air conditioning not working in rooms but did get fixed fee hours later. Shower was cold had to ring reception and was told doing maintenance? However shower hot within 15mins. Rooms were clean . Hotel is on main flight path for airport so constantly planes flying over hotel so not much peace if you are planning on being at pool all day. Meals are fantastic and very reasonable.
The rooms are comfortable and very clean and comfortable. The restaurant meals were lovely and I enjoyed them. The staff at the restaurant though we're not very nice as compared to other staff. The rooms were always Clean on time.
Sadly, this hotel disappointed me. Badly. I am aware this a mid-range business style hotel near the hotel and used by Airline staff on their stop overs, so I was expecting more than what I got. I feel at this stage that I should point out that the hotel itself is really rather pleasant. Quite traditional Fijian feel. Lovely gardens and a majority of the rooms are in single storey buildings giving the whole place a sprawling yet private vibe. The bar area was great, with the pizza oven nearby and poolside. It’s not a resort but it’s very nice and chilled. The pizza was the best I have had in Fiji. My complaint comes from the fact I had to move twice in one night. The staff were absolutely fantastic. My first room was large, well appointed but boiling. I turned the thermostat on the Aircon down and closed the curtains wondering if that would aid cooling. Three hours, a failed nap and quite a lot of sweat later I concluded that the unit was not working. I was moved 4 rooms up without challenge to a room with working AC. At bedtime I noted that every 10-15 mins a gurgling sound could be heard, it got louder, that a whizzing and a loud bang. Like someone slamming a door. The remote for the AC was broken so I couldn’t turn it off. Eventually, 90 mins after I went to bed I finally got dressed and called reception. They offered to turn off the AC and replace is with a free-standing fan. In the end they found me a smaller family room at the other end of the premises. When I arrived it was freezing but the AC rattled chronically and after no more than 20 mins in the room the unit beeped on/off repeatedly before switching itself off. There was already a free-standing fan in the room so this clearly a known problem. Now getting on for midnight, I gave up and used the fan. I was at the hotel to catch an early flight and had lost a couple of hours sleep by that point. All of the rooms were really well presented. I can’t fault the hotel in that regard, as I said, I can’t fault the staff (who remained calm in the face of my increasing frustration and who simply couldn’t do enough to help) but I really have to question how the hotel is keeping its custom if all 3 of the rooms I used had AC units that were failing. I can only presume they were vacant because of this and I was just an unlucky patron. Sadly, despite its proximity to the airport and the free shuttle I really won’t be choosing to stay here in the future. I would rather use the facilities in Denarau which is further away but carries reliable branded resort accommodation for not that much more money.
Fiji Airways was delayed 6 hours and had to host us in Nadi for a day from about 10 AM to 6 PM. The staff are friendly but process is inefficient. They took passports from a busload of transit passengers to photocopy. Then had them all mixed up and needed us to identify each to help sort it. Having been at an airport 8 hours and then a (very crowded, dirty) plane for 11 hours and waiting at Fiji Airways office 30 mins to be allotted a hotel - with two kids - exacerbated the pain of this. Its like a tired old Best Western at best. Somewhat close to airport (12 min bus ride). Hallways and room were musty. The bathroom door swung from ceiling with gaps on side. So when room service came in I had to have kid vacate shower first!! Really weird!! We tried vegetarian platter and vegetarian pizza. Platter was ok. Pizza was greasy. (And they had ONE paper napkin with the whole order...?) They arranged a taxi to visit Denarau. Was an ok way to spend 2 hours. (Its a mini open air mall amidst rolling green golf course and upscale residences and hotels.) Checkout was weird too. They did not have all our expenses. I had to ask front desk to talk to smoothie bar and include all our items. The shuttle we were to take either came and left early without us (or never came). Front desk had to call them (again). Will never fly Fiji Airways again but if I do end up in Fiji, won’t pick this hotel.
this hotel was a cool place to stay at, from the friendly reception staff right to the Indian lady that cocked my wood oven pizza :) Also worth mentioning is the spectacular buffet breakfast that they serve every morning, the fresh exotic fruits was sensational and what a great start to the morning. I will most definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for that great Fijian hospitality, and I would definitely stay here on my next trip to Fiji.
Very very close to the airport .Good airport pick up and drop up service by the hotel it self. helpful staff is working there. Good food and good customer service is available.Nice surrounding , beautiful place.
The place is so close to the airport, yet the driver left me sitting in the shuttle for almost an hour because he thought more people were coming. This, after 2 days of flying to get there, I could not wait to sleep and shower! And... Little bugs throughout my room. Otherwise, a nice place. One front desk lady was a bit snooty but others were nice.
