Close to freeway made for a bit of noise and food was good but expensove

We booked the hotel when we visited Longwood Gardens. This place is less than a mile away in a commercial location in town with restaurants, supermarkets and gas stations around. The place is very welcoming. They have goodies and drinks in the lobby awaiting the guests. The hotel is very bright and cheery with a nice smell ( wondered what freshener they used? ). Room was appointed very nicely, the bed was so comfortable. Staff was super friendly. They have a cafe in the lobby that served excellent breakfast. For $12 you have a buffet plus a chef to whip you whatever you like ( omelette, French toasts, etc ). We loved it here that I was sad to leave!!!

The hotel is located close to Longwood Gardens and it very welcoming. The staff is very friendly and made sure that we were comfortable with our room. The room was clean and comfortable and the room amenities were perfect and the décor is modern.

it was nice to have some snacks and beverages in the lobby for free after a long day. nice variety too

Many previous reviews noted that this hotel is noisy, and I agree. Loud noise from major road - trucks downshifting and souped-up cars parading - and also lots of noisy from adjacent rooms. I could hear even quiet conversations from room next to mine. Also, staff complained several times about my making my reservation through a "third party" and they refused to give me a receipt for my stay - said I had to contact the "third party." Staff was pleasant otherwise and seemed to know there had been many complaints about noise.

Convenient, clean, comfortable, lots of useful and fun amenities, nice staff. It met our needs very well and we would definitely stay there again.

This hotel is our preferred accommodations while in this area of the world. The staff is pleasant and easy to work with. I am especially fond of the breakfast available at the hotel. The prices are reasonable but not inexpensive.

I had selected the Hilton Garden Inn Kennett Square because of its proximity to Longwood Gardens. Based on the picture of the hotel when I made my reservation, I was surprised to see that it is completely surrounded by strip malls. I should have used mapquest, google, or bing to examine the area prior to making the reservation. On check in, the staff was very friendly and I found out that I used to live down the street from the grammar school that the woman doing my check in had attended. The television in my room didn't work. Rather than taking my word for it, the very friendly staff had to see that it wasn't working for themselves. It was somewhat insulting, the implication being that I was too dumb to turn on a TV correctly. After seeing that yes, the TV didn't work, they gave me a different room and moved me to it very quickly, using the master key to open the door to the new room, while keys for the new room were being encoded. After I got back from dinner that evening, the key card to the new room didn't unlock my door. The very friendly person at the desk, who had prepared the key to my new room, gave me a new key quickly. Between the intermittent traffic noise all night and the occasional noise in the room below my room, I was frequently awakened during the night. While the staff was very friendly, the little things seemed to evade them; making sure that everything in a room worked prior to assigning a room, when encoding new keys assuring that they work, etc.

Hotel is conveniently located to many major attractions in the Brandywine Valley.

The afternoon cookies were a nice touch. We also appreciated the free wireless Internet in the rooms. It would be nice if complimentary bottles of water were included in the rooms.

The MOD was most accommodating for an early check-in. Knowing we had 'timed tickets' for Longwood Gardens, she offered to provide comp replacement tickets should we not be able to make our 4:00 pm timed tickets. Upon check-out the following day the same MOD received my comment re: the 'slow-draining shower' and I feel certain had the problem resolved for the next guest. If visiting Brandywine River Museum, Longwood Gardens or other lovely du Pont family treasures, this facility is the place to stay.

nice staff, mattress sunk in about 4 inches on husbands side, we have stayed at this hotel twice one stay was wonderfull, the next we did not get a good nights sleep because of the bed,

Nice touch: fresh baled cookies, free, at the front desk

The staff made check in fun. They were very chatty and still efficient. The room and amentities are what I would expect from a Hilton facility. We liked the location, near Longwood Gardens.
