4/10 Poor

The property has some history, and the Lobby/Lounge areas seem to be well cared for. The rooms are pretty rough. The bedding was clean but the beds were pretty uncomfortable. The rooms and bathrooms are tiny, as is common in old hotels. Everything there seems to be coated in 10 layers of paint accumulated over the years. The room's heating was a tiny wall heater that didn't keep up very well with the cold room. The morning checkout girl was very nice. The evening check-in lady was bothered to be there. Meeting rooms and Cafe were chained up with bike locks on the door handles, as if standard door locks were somehow inappropriate. It just really feels like this place is on its last legs and Corporate is trying the bare minimum to pump its history for a few more bucks. The area was full of homeless people doing drugs on the sidewalk like nobody was watching. The food options aren't open very late, with most restaurants closed by 9pm. Stay elsewhere. In fact, might as well avoid Eureka in general if you can, as everything there is this way.
