We stayed here last night for a friends 50th. Overall we had a great night but a few small changes would have made for a more enjoyable stay. The lady on reception was really friendly and got us checked in quickly. The hotel is larger than it looks from the front so there are a lot of rooms to maintain. This might explain why neither of the lights by the bed worked and a couple of other bulbs were gone in other lights in the room. It just made the room very dark. Also the batteries in the remote for the tv were on their last legs but they would work if you jiggled them - or just use the buttons on the tv itself. Both the room and the bathroom were clean although the bathroom is not particularly updated. Water pressure was good and plenty of hot water. We arrived hungry so ordered food. I don’t think I would eat here again. The chicken, avacado and crispy bacon sandwich sounded a lot better than the reality. Sliced cheap white bread that was soggy underneath, very little evidence of avacado and very uncrispy bacon. The pizza’s were like cardboard and had 5 pieces of pepperoni. The party at the hotel in the evening was great fun and staff members were always friendly and helpful. They are definitely an asset to the hotel. I won’t be rushing back but I wouldn’t have a problem staying again if friends had already booked here.
Lovely hotel and friendly staff. We unfortunately got a room with a broken handle for the window so we couldn’t open it up. Very close to food places and shopping centre. Would definitely come back again. Overall good.
I stayed in this hotel while I was in the area on business. My business was in various locations close by which made this hotel a good location for a base to travel from. The hotel itself is in a good location with it being just off of the M11. However, if you are looking to go into Harlow itself then it is a little isolated on the outskirts of town. The staff at this hotel were very helpful and helped me with anything that I needed them to. The food at this hotel was nice. It was simple food, nothing too fancy but it was tasty and there was plenty of it. You were served with your meet and then the rest of the meal you took yourself from a self-service buffet. The rooms at this hotel were very comfortable and had everything that you could have wanted. A good hotel all around which I will have no problem returning to again in the future.
I loved this hotel, it may be a bit dated and average rooms, but the style is amazing, the architecture is like a hotel in palms springs! A classic truck stop from back in the day, definitely worth a stay. Also got great facilities, a nice small pool to relax and maybe do some laps, a great gym, a sauna so hot I dare you to stay in there for 15min, a steam room and a nice jacuzzi. If you are getting a flight from stansted airport and are looking for somewhere to relax before your flight thats an easy commute I would recommend this place no end! Plus house keeping makes a 3 star feel like a 5 start, there is nothing they wouldn't do for you!
Stayed here for a night on a coach trip. The staff are excellent and very polite and friendly.THe dinner was good and the breakfast very good, with plenty of choice.I can't understand why people moan about this hotel as my wife and I thought it very good for the price.
The staff at the Park inn were amazing, so helpful, polite and welcoming. They couldn't do enough for you, and would go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. My room was clean and comfortable, towels changed and beds made daily. The pool facilities are also clean and well kept- including the gym (I didn't use but seems popular). Food is good, although slightly expensive and the cooked breakfast could be improved. As I was there for over a week I would have liked to have a mini fridge to store some drinks. (Not sure if this is something that is available in other rooms) Other than that I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a short stay, quite near the airport. I would come back because the staff were so lovely and helpful.
So. I'm down here working, but it's evenings that I'm working, so it's a choice of let the firm book premier Inn with..... Nothing to do, or find something else. That brings me to this place. The park Inn by Radisson. It has a gym and pool so that's a good thing. Unfortunately they are having issues with the water quality. At least it is open which is an improvement from previous reviews, but they need to get it sorted and soon. On to the rooms... Well the new corridor carpets look nice. Unfortunately the rooms are very tired. My room had loose toilet seat, rusty shower curtain poles, bulbs missing, stained carpets, and marked walls. That said, the bed was comfortable and it was quite quiet. Although I'm right at the back overlooking a hedge. Which then came as a surprise when someone walked past the window. Digital TV is present which while dated, does have one hdmi port so could connect my media player. But not USB or screen sharing. The staff are pleasant enough, the bar though is cold and stark. White walls red (not very comfortable) chairs, and not cheap. I know I'm a northerner but 4.50 a pint is a bit steep. Breakfast is satisfactory.. Not worth 15 quid but if you get a b&b deal it's OK. One problem is the location of the toaster. It is right on the other side of the dining room from the rest of it. As such people are back and forth between the bread area and the food area I came down at 8.20 (40 mins before it ends), and the supply was low. No croissant left, beans almost gone, no fruit. There was no sign of it being replenished. That said, I didn't ask All In all, there are some bad reviews on here and some good. But it needs an update. And a bit more comfort.
This hotel is in urgent need of a refit. Our room had a broken a/c/ heating unit, drafty windows, a cracked sink, exposed carpet runners on thresholds and holes patched with expanding foam in the bathroom. Room service was average at best. Fire alarms went off twice while we there in the middle of the night, there were no staff to advise if we needed to evacuate after the alarm was silenced. I appreciate that other guests set the alarm off and this is totally beyond the hotels control, but no communication after such an event was poor. Also the local gym is allowed to exercise outside the drafty/ poorly sound proofed windows and bounced balls against/ near the external walls which caused the whole room to vibrate. Good location for travelling to London.
We stayed here overnight for our anniversary the room was big it had stains on the carpet and the bathroom had decorative issues and the tiles behind the bath was cracked and had white filler to plug the crack and holes at the back of the taps which made it look tacky. On arriving we only had one dressing gown and slipper set which should have been sorted when the room was cleaned. The air conditioning unit was a nightmare and the instruction were extremely complicated to follow the window you could not open as it had safety locks that would not even keep them ajar. The bed although big and comfy had a really thin duvet so was very cold at night. The food was nice in the restaurant and the staff were very friendly but breakfast was not nice not much variety for a full English and way too many staff that stood around chatting. The tea selection was poor and the tv remote didn't work well and was a struggle to turn over. The lights were difficult to figure out how to use but got there eventually also having a glass headboard is not ideal really uncomfortable to lean on
Booked this for a one night stay on the way home after visiting family. I chose this because it was part of the Carlson group, so I thought it would be good. I was so wrong!! When we arrived we were told we could not have the king room I had booked but were given a very basic double instead but as ‘compensation’ we could have a free breakfast (wish we had not bothered, but more about breakfast later). The window curtain, and I mean singular, just fitted across the window! The room was clean and the bed comfortable but that is about it for the good points. This was the most basic hotel room I have ever stayed in, not even a picture on the wall. The pictures of the room on the website bear no resemblance to the actual room we were in. We had dinner in the restaurant which was okay and the service was quick and friendly however when we went in to the bar area for a drink that was a different story. The bar looked very run down and resembled a very bad working men’s club. It was very full (not a problem) and the only seats available were next to a group who seemed to be only capable of starting and ending sentences with the F word. We bought our drinks and took them back to our room! Breakfast next morning was poor. The scrambled eggs were awful and the hot water for tea had a strange scum on top. When checking out the receptionist told us she would print our bill but when we checked it later it was only a receipt and not an itemised bill. I would not recommend this hotel and will certainly never stay here again and Radisson should be ashamed to have their name associated with it.
