Fire department was there when I arrived because the fire alarm was activated. At 5:00 am it was activated again. Everyone was woken up for another false alarm. I changed hotels! And NOT clean!

I think I may have gotten catfished by the overall rating. The original and replacement rooms both smelled like sweat and musty body odor, and the shower didn’t work. I will say the staff were friendly and inviting though.

Don't stay at the Best Western Heartland Inn Mattoon Illinois. The "battery" in my door dies because they don't bother to routinely maintain them. So I had to wait for the manager/warden to let me in every time I wanted to leave. Additionally the USB port is broken, so I didn't even have a phone in my . Hortible maintenance and service.

I didn’t like checking in and then finding out the entire hotel is basically under construction due to a water pipe burst, and my room and third floor smell like a paint warehouse and lamps from rooms in the hallways. When I booked my room there was no explanation that this hotel is under construction. I would never of booked here if I knew this. And probably will never stay at a Best Western again.

Good quiet hotel, even though there was work being done on the building the staff made it well aware, it was very easy to get to my room still and there were no interruptions due to the noise one of the best hotels I've stayed in will be booking best western more in the future!
