Room was clean but could use some detailed cleaning. Curtains aren’t all on the loops, under the glass on the tables for the tv and dresser could be cleaned. Some hypo allergenic pillows would be nice. Had a heck of a time to navigate the cable tv. And so much potential for the outside space out the patio door off our room but the door is screwed shut to only open 4inches or so. For $189.00 Im disappointed and expected more for what we paid honestly.

This place was actually really good. Surprised because it's in an old area of Whyte Ave. I like the hotel rooms because they're not just a square room, they're kind of angled. Staff were awesome to deal with. Valet was nice. Breakfast was pretty good too. And it was busy so they opened up another room for everybody to eat and which was just fabulous. Highly recommend this place.

A totally upgraded older hotel close to downtown, university hospital, and all amenities. This is my second time staying at this hotel and I will stay again. My room was spacious, uniquely setup due to its floor plan, large bathroom, multiple closets, and dresser - everything needed for either a long or short term stay. Breakfast was awesome with a mixture of hit and cold food and beverages with amazing hosts/hostesses.

Rooms were clean and very nice, decent breakfast, excellent location for access to U of A hospital, plenty of dining and shopping options close by, we stayed 2 nights. Unfortunately, the 1st night we were serenaded by a street musician, singing and playing loud music on a Tues night until 11:40pm. The Metterra provides "Whyte Noise" earplugs, which I thought were a novelty item, but nope used them, and they were not enough, fell asleep with my head between two pillows "those aren't pillows!". Second night was fine, other than the regular street noise and sirens. Also, the beds have a large wooden platform which sticks out beyond rhe mattress, and it is a real shin buster in the dark. We used the valet parking, which is needed with the limited parking. I had requested our car at 9 am the night previous (when checking in). I asked about it at 8:55, the request had not been scheduled so it was a scramble to get the car out. The next morning the car was out on time. I would probably not stay again unless I could be guaranteed a room away from the street.

The room was spotless, and the staff were courteous. However, there were a couple of small issues. The common areas were not as clean as the rooms. Also I had issues with the HVAC in my room. It was extremely hot in the room, despite setting the Thermostat to 18C. The solution provided by maintenance was to turn off the HVAC system in the room and open the patio door.
