Our plan: check in, get settled, kennel the dog and go out for dinner. On arrival, the cleaning staff were still there and told us the previous renters had left a big mess, and they were still cleaning up. We contacted the property manager and were told we were welcome to use the property fully. We were not comfortable leaving our dog with a stranger, so we felt we could not go out to dinner. We asked the owner for a price adjustment, but they refused, saying we still had full access to the property, even with the cleaning lady there, and us not being comfortable leaving the dog with a stranger, so our plans had to change.Other than that, it needs a SERIOUS deep clean and refresh (paint, carpets/furniture cleaned) - honestly, it was close to disgusting. Some examples: huge brown stain on kitchen ceiling, greasy/grimey baseboards, visibly dirty (almost black) fresh air returns, broken kitchen faucet, very dirty carpets on stairs and 2nd floor, damaged furniture, smoke detector battery dead and beeping on the hour at 3:00 am (and no fresh batteries available), only wet duvets available, very dirty shoe matts, disgustingly dirty under basement couch, broken coffee maker lid, tv wires hanging everywhere. I have pictures of all this, but unfortunately, I cannot post them. Avoid this property. I am sure the owner will reply and say "Sorry, we are taking care of this" - but this is a major, something they need to invest time and money in (which I doubt they will).
