What a find this hotel was. Walking distance from all the attractions with the facilities of fine dining and also a sports bar. Something to please everyone. The bed was so comfortable, and the staff informative of any questions we had on local places.
My new favourite Edinburgh hotel. It's location is perfect, in the heart of everything (ok it's not super quiet but I slept undisturbed all night. First thing that wowed was the stunning building but that was quickly overtaken by the incredible staff team. Wow that's customer service. I was even one of those annoying guests asking for printing and all kinds of extras, each time was no problem. The room was enormous, and so stylish. I'm sorry about your water bill because I spent ages in the rainfall shower. The bed, the linen and the heating were all super comfortable. I slept so well. And thank you so much for the late check out, it made all the difference to my day as it allowed me to spend more time preparing for my presentation (and thanks again for the printing as that made all the difference too). This hotel has a wonderful "can do, will do" attitude and if you're a business traveller this makes all the difference. However that room was also made for romantic nights away too. You never know what simple acts of kindness make to someone's day, but this hotel made them for me. Definitely my first choice next time I'm in Edinburgh.
Lovely hotel and the room was amazing. Large screen tv, fully stocked fridge and dressing gowns. The shower was huge as well. The room was spacious and clean. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Didn't like the wooden surround on the bed. My Husband and I came home with several matching bruises on both knees/legs. Think there needs to be some sort of padding on the corners. Apart from that we would love to stay there again.
Myself and my partner stayed at Twelve Picardy at the weekend. The reception area is nice and the lady on reception was helpful and showed us to our room. The room was stunning! The decor was amazing, it was a good size, was super clean and the bathroom was fab! We were situated on the top floor there was no lift which didn't bother us! We got a parking space right outside the front door. The only negatives about this hotel was the heat in the bedroom we had a large fan in the room which was great but really noisy when trying to sleep. The other negative was the lighting it was really dark when we were trying to get ready. Apart from this the hotel was perfect so central and the price was great for what you get!
Cozy and spacious rooms, updated well. The staff was kind and helpful. The bathrooms were a little too dark to see your face, so I'd advise a make-up mirror if need one. Would definitely stay again! Go to Steak next door, it was excellent ... and guests get a discount.
This hotel was amazing value for money. Located in an old townhouse the room was huge and very bright and clean. I loved the contemporary decor and the bathroom was super cool. Our room didn't have a great view - we overlooked a beer garden patio but we didn't spend a whole lot of time starting out the window so it was all good. The stairwell was very striking with a beautiful roof window. There wasn't an option for breakfast as there wasn't a restaurant/bar which made the hotel feel a little soulless but with so much on the doorstep it didn't really make a difference. 5 minute walk to Princess Street. We would definitely stay again.
We stayed at this hotel for two nights in September 2017. The hotel itself is small, but our room was quite spacious, with high ceilings. It was comfortable and the bathroom was very modern and clean. The staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful and knowledgeable about the area around the hotel. The only slight issue we had, was the parking. We drove to the city, and the hotel has an arrangement with a parking about 23 minutes drive away. But to get there is a bit difficult. The hotel's location was quite central. It was only a 15 minute walk from Edinburgh Castle.
Wow what can I say, the minute we were arrived we were impressed with this stunning hotel: we had a large bedroom on the top floor, fabulous condition with huge windows, possibly the biggest shower I've ever seen, great bathroom and dressing table area. The lovely staff helped carry my bag up (as other reviewers have noted - no lift and many stairs!) and reserved a table in the steak restaurant next door for us. They also very kindly let us extend check-out by 1 hour and kept hold of our bags post check-out as we had a late flight. Location is perfect, a 5 minute stroll into Edinburgh City Centre and 5 minutes to Calton Hill. Cannot recommend highly enough - we're already thinking about when we can come back!
We stayed here for two nights during our recent road trip through Scotland. The room was very nice and new with a modern bathroom. It has no breakfast but there was a nice place down the street (Cafe Marlene). I recommend it. It was also very well situated.
Found this hotel whilst searching online and WOW so glad we stayed here. Why stay at a boring major branded hotel when you can stay here. If you have mobility problems ask for a lower level room as some rooms go into the attic which are a lot of stairs as no lift.....was not a problem for us but anybody who struggles with stairs specifically ask for a first floor room. The room was amazing very modern well designed and was a pleasure to stay in. The ONLY problem that I would say I had with the room is they have black out blinds covering all the windows bar 2 (around the desk area) which allowed loads of sun light in waking us up early. This is easily fixed by putting up blinds there too and would suggest it to the hotel. Other than that we had a great time & will definatley be back when we're back in Edinburgh
