Great staff and nice room. Staff very helpful in making suggestions of what to do in Edinbrough
Standard Novotel, for when you need something standard. It's right next to the Edinburgh Park tram station.
Nicely furnished hotel with good amenities such as swimming pool, gym nice lobby and bar. Spacious rooms. Hotel is close to the highway so a bit noisy.
Everything about this hotel was very nice...except that the room was much too warm for sleeping, and we couldn't adjust the temperature enough. The window opened, giving a little ventilation, but the traffic and trains going by were much too loud.
I spent one night at the end of my trip at Novotel Park because I had an early flight. I took a chance on the hotel, hoping it would have an airport shuttle (the website didn't mention it) there was no shuttle, but the tram is a short walk away and arrived at the airport in less than 15 minutes - very convenient and economical. I didn't use the amenities since I arrived late, but it looked like it had a vibrant bar area. The room was modern, clean and comfortable, and the shower was great.
We picked this because it was near Edinburgh Airport. It was very easy to drive to the airport for a 6 AM flight, while returning the rental car. Staff were helpful, room comfortable, pool & restaurant nice. There are a few shops nearby that are walkable. You are not close to much else though. Finding the hotel after dusk was a challenge because they have changed some streets, and our GPS was not aware of it. Once figured out it was simple. Be certain you are using their NEW postal code, which we did not.
Very nice hotel. Free, but slow, internet. Upgrade to higher speed was available for a fee
A good airport hotel, no complaints, might be far away from the city center if you wanted to do tourism but we just stayed there in transit
Very friendly reception with personal service. Modern hotel with American amenities. This is more of a business serviced hotel and required you to pay for wifi where as other hotels offer free wifi.
Hotel was clean and staff was friendly. Close to the train station. Pool and steam room were enjoyable at the end of the day.
Staff was helpful in telling us about the train and schedules. We found it difficult to drive from the airport to the hotel and find it--the traffic was confusing.
I stayed at this hotel because it was close to the airport and I had an early flight home. It was extremely nice. Last Sept. I stayed at a different hotel near the airport and it was cheesy.
Fairly inexpensive compared to hotels in Edinburgh. Hotel is outside of Edinburgh only a couple miles from the airport, very quiet at night. Train station only about 100 yards from the Hotel for easy trip into Edinburgh. Hotel is in an Industrial park so there isn't much around and finding a restaurant other than the hotel was a challenge. Also must pay for internet (13 GBP per day) but you also get decent movie package for TV)
We stayed here while visiting Edinburgh for a week. The hotel has a very modern look, which we liked. The bathroom includes a temperature controlled shower with two shower heads and a defogging mirror. Nice stuff. Unfortunately, I would trade that in for free internet access. I've stayed in other hotels in the same price range and most of them include internet access. They do offer some terminals in the lobby with free access, but sometimes there's a wait and I saw them get locked up on people a few times. (We opted to pay £14 for two hours of access to use through the week.) Rooms include a refrigerator, but they pack them with sodas and snacks. I didn't like that because I usually USE the fridge to store beverages and snacks we buy outside of the hotel. The pool was okay, but the jacuzzi/spa isn't heated and is inside the pool, which makes it all a bit small. The changing rooms and showers are coed, which was fine, but it made for some crowding with entire families inside. The location is good if you prefer to stay just a bit outside the city. It's steps from the train station, so we were able to enjoy the city by day, but get away from the busy streets in the evening for some real rest. (We weren't able to hear any trains from inside the hotel.) You must remember to grab a meal before heading back on the train because there are no dining options nearby and the hotel restaurant offers a limited menu in the late evening. One good thing nearby is a Tesco (supermarket/wal-mart type place) which helps if you forget anything or prefer to buy it once you get there.
