The hotel is in a fun, touristy area which is pretty central to a lot of things you may want to do in Edinburgh. The staff seemed friendly -- I only dealt with front desk and housekeeping. The room's floorboards were terribly squeaky immediately at you would walk on the carpet and the window was difficult to secure shut. These windows (possibly walls) are also quite thin which, in a touristy area, is not good.
