Hotel is close to many places to eat and things to see.

Nice beds and good location. one of the men at the reciption was rude and he does not know how to speak with geusts. Not worth value of money at all. We had to ask for a box of tissue to get one, we found insects in the room. Also the room was very tight. No help getting our bags, we carried them up and down in the stairs.

We loved being so close to everything we wanted to do in Edinburgh. We were close to the castle, royal mile, Mary King's Close, shopping and wonderful restaurants! There was wonderful coffee shops and cafes nearby for breakfast and lunch. The hotel was very clean and comfortable with friendly, polite, and courteous staff! We couldn't have asked for a more ideal place!

The car park was not well marked so we went to the wrong apex hotel first. The hotel looked nice and the staff was friendly. We had a great view of the castle - my kids loved playing in front of the window and looking at the castle and people/shops below. We had lots of options for food and entertainment nearby. We would definitely stay here again!

We loved the hotel, its proximity to all amazing sites and great dining!!

This was my first trip to Scotland, and I was very pleased with my accommodations. Staff is very competent, friendly, and helpful.

The staff was excellent, the location was great for visiting the Castle, shopping, restaurants, etc. Great value for the money!

Stayed for 4 nights and was very satisfied with my experience at the Apex Grassmarket. I believe the best part of the hotel is it's location; it is located in the center of the Old City, everything was within walking distance. Edinburgh Castle was clearly visible from the front entrance and several Harry Potter attractions were a 2 minute walk. The food was also great.

Room showed some wear and tear that needs to be addressed. Also, no air conditioning in room. Otherwise, room was clean and location of hotel is great. Right in the middle of the action.

Everything was right outside the hotel. Restaurants, street performers, plays, and of course the castle. Yet, with all the outside noise, the room was super quiet. We had a great time and would stay there again.

Advertised as a family room because it had two queen size beds But it was a regular size room, very small, also the mattress was uncomfortable! Also it was noisy at night!!

Nice room. It was great to come back to a nice modern room in Edinburgh after traveling in Scotland and staying at simple B&B's. the location is perfect for sightseeing and for bars and restaurants. Tip - The breakfast is good value for money. When you tell the hotel the night before you get it for 10 GBP instead of15 and totally worth it !!!

Our only complaint was the food. After the first night we went elsewhere! Staff and location was very good.

I was very pleased to have selected Apex International for my stay in Edinburgh. The hotel is only a short distance from the Royal Mile. It is an uphill walk to the Royal Mile, but that means it's a downhill walk on the way back to the hotel. Grassmarket is a busy area with pubs and restaurants and an active nightlife in the evening. Because of that, there can be some noise from the street, but it didn't prevent anyone in my family from getting sleep. The room and hotel were clean and the staff was very friendly. I would stay there again.

Conveniently located, modern clean facility, friendly staff, and a fabulous breakfast. Only negative was the street noise heard in the rooms facing the main street of Grassmarket. Rooms were stocked with foam ear plugs to help when sleeping.

Very pleasant hotel, walked to all the major attractions from there. Room was nice , and reception desk was helpful. Very clean and breakfast was extremely good with tons of choices, even for vegetarians

We stayed at Apex over July 4th weekend. The overall impression of the hotel is quite plain. The decoration is pretty much minimalist style. The location is in an average neighborhood. The room was small but with a very nice view of the Edinburgh Castle.

No A/C, and windows didn't open very much. Very hot and stuffy in room and lobby! Most nice modern 4 star hotels in the area have it. We had wanted to stay at their Waterloo location, but they didn't have two nights, so we never even checked for a/c at this one since the Waterloo has it. Lesson learned! The room was shabby modern. Terrible pillows, awful bed -very lumpy. Mold in the shower. Very high awkward bath tub/shower combo to step out of, nearly fell. Huge gauges/scratches in the wooden floor that should have been repaired. Would never call this a 4 star!

I've booked a premium room with Edinburgh castle view. But the room was very small and could barely turn around. The hotel was kind of plain, clean but kind of minimum style. We slept well. Next time I will choose a more upscale hotel in Edinburgh

Dear Gail, Thanks for the review. I was delighted you had a great stay during your time in Edinburgh. We certainly are very fortunate to have a great location here in the Grassmarket. Thank you for your suggestion regarding the electrical outlets - we are due a refurbishment in the Autumn of this year and are taking all feedback on board. Once again thanks for the review and hopefully you will have another opportunity to visit Edinburgh at some point in the future.
