When we booked our stay at Wyndham Bill Douglas we assumed we were staying in a town of Douglas and thought that Bill was A type of Wyndham. We were pleasantly surprised that it was in a national grasslands and on the way to where we were going. It was a peaceful, very clean motel with that cute little 50s diner.

Don't stay here, drive to Gillette or Douglas. It's not worth it, the rooms are dirty and thethe restaur is unsanitary. One of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. I'm never coming back. Don't stay here.

Very good to have a nice clean motel to stay at when working in this very remote place. The diner open 24 hours is also a necessity when there are not really any stores or other conveniences at this intersection.

Love coming here. Have come here 2 years in a row to shoot at a buddies ranch and I’ve enjoyed both stays. It’s just a railroad hotel decent meals at the cafe awesome chocolate malts! And super friendly people. I love Wyoming with all of my heart and I can never wait to go back. Place has good showers and clean beds a mini fridge that works great (kept beer cold the whole time) however I do have to say parking lot can get pretty crowded depending on the time you roll in.

Stayed here while travelling to AZ. It is a no frills accommodation but very adequate for an overnight stay. A rambling room set up that is a bit confusing! No complimentary breakfast but a Penny’s Diner is part of the establishment. Price was right!

The hotel is located in the middle of nowhere. It's suitable for vacation, but it's excellent if you are on the road or you work near from that area.Renovated rooms- very clean - quiet- restaurant open 24 hours

The whole place seems brand new. That was the first surprise when I walked in to stay the night prior to the 2017 eclipse. I was expecting... lesser accomodations considering this place is in the middle of nowhere. But it was newer and nicer than many places I've stayed for 2-3x the rate when traveling for work. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, there's free wifi that worked properly, and the shower had hot water coming out of it. What more could you ask for? I am a light sleeper but had no issues getting woken up by other guests. The doors on the rooms close slowly and quietly which is a big plus for me! I hate getting woken up by other people's slamming doors. Can't say I'll likely be in this part of the world again but if I was I'd stay here again without hesitation.

The biggest complaint I have is the towels were not ever replaced. Bed was not made. Had a king size bed reserved for my son and myself. When we arrived after 15 hours of driving we had one queen bed. Location was not ideal for our hunting trip. To far away from where we were allowed to hunt. That is not the hotels fault. I would go back again if we were allowed to hunt in the area of the hotel.

This is an average hotel that provides great night sky and railroad viewing, but nothing else. (It was built to house the RR crews transporting the coal from the nearby Powder River mines, it's in the middle of nowhere. Gas is 35 miles north or south.) Stayed a few days ago for two nights. Room was clean but dingy (dark colors), public areas dirty and dingy, and attached diner (Penny's) average food and dirty. Dry Creek Saloon directly across Wyoming Highway 59 (inside the "Bill Store") serves only bottled/canned beer, and has a side door if you want to watch the trains. The wide, well-maintained gravel road next to the hotel into the Thunder Basin National Grassland provides star viewing. I'll stay here again next time I want to see the night sky, but won't stay here if I'm travelling through. Room info: Hotel is an E-shape, three wings projecting back from the front. My room was an interior room looking at another wing about 10 yards away, and got no sunlight. The outside rooms getting sunlight are 101-119 and 201-219, facing north to Gillette, but these are probably reserved for railroad employees. The others are 162-180 and 262-280 facing south towards Douglas, and probably open to anybody. But they also look onto a waste-water-treatment pond 30 yards away... The laundry room was BS, 1 washer and dryer on the 2nd floor

Our room was spotless and everything appeared new. Very quiet. We appeared to be housed in a separate wing from the rail workers (the one or two we ran into in the lobby were friendly). No pool but we were visiting family in Bill so plenty busy. Guest laundry machines only a few doors away from our room. Went to the little store across the street for cheap snacks.
