Stayed for an event recently. Was extremely disappointed with this hotel. Booked a family room as this was meant to have 2 double beds and there was 4 of us staying. Arrived to find a triple room meaning one person was without a bed. Air conditioning was broken and the fridge was broken. Window did not open properly so the room was uncomfortable. Came to the end of the event, staff were reluctant to let us back to the room and followed us up the hall,a very aggressive woman security guard grabbed my friends arm and she has a nasty bruise from it. A very poorly run establishment.

Arrived and given a warm welcome by reception staff. Room clean and comfortable and receptionist was very informative about facilities etc. Weather was awful outside so stayed in the hotel. Prob not the best Fish and Chips I have had in a long time.

As Stena Line had left us 5 hours late arriving at Rosslare Harbour, it was midnight when we arrived at the Rochestown Park Hotel in Cork. I had rung through to the hotel and informed them of our late arrival and was reassured that there would be no problem booking in. When we finally did arrive, the hotel was set up to fend off an impending tropical storm. Storm Lorenzo was on its way and main doors were closed, in favour of side doors, and we were urged to park our car away from trees (more later) It is a large conference and tourist hotel and we were shepherded to a good size, clean and comfortable looking room with a double bed, into which we fell, exhausted after a 4- hour drive across three Irish counties in the dark. We had one bedside light missing, but it was delivered to us with apologies after breakfast. So, breakfast! Coeliacs be warned, you have to state your case. However, once done, the maître d' and Chef Plunket treated my wife like a daughter and ensured that all her food choices were gluten-free and no cross-contamination would occur from utensils. She was also offered gluten-free bread and cereal. This showed good understanding of her dietary problem. (Mind the tomato sauce sachets though, as they contain barley!) Stanislav in the Sutton Bar and Bistro helped my wife with her Coeliac-friendly evening meals. A good hotel with friendly, professional staff. Our room (513) was excellent, bright and airy and looked out over the River Douglas and the Mahon Golf Course. A splendid refuge when Tropical Storm Lorenzo finally arrived. We sat in the warm, with a drink from the bar and watched the Ireland rugby on TV. Facilities in the room were second to none, with TV, ‘fridge, armchairs and, with plug sockets everywhere, charging tablets, phones, etc., was no problem. There was a thoughtful little washing line over the bath, for when you get your clothes wet in Irish rain, but be careful in the shower, it could be slippy. Mind you, if we had asked for a shower mat, it is likely that we would have been delivered one. It is clear that the hotel is able to identify with its patrons, at least, in our case we were sorry to leave. Footnote: Only minutes away from Park and Ride for Cork City

Bar staff inside the Bistro didn’t seem to want to serve myself or my friend I was travelling with. We waited for 30 minutes with empty glasses after being initially served while others around us continued to be served. We eventually had to flag down one of the 3 bartenders and ask for second drinks. All this while the bar had maybe 10-15 people in it.

We visited the Rochestown Park Hotel Saturday nite aa we had a party to attend...The hotel was very busy but Reception staff were very friendly on arrival esp Mairead the family room was specious & spoless id highly recommended this hotel..we didnt eat here but the food looked amazing..we will definitely be back

We were staying in the hotel for one night and had booked two rooms for 4 of us. Check in was fine and the reception staff were lovely. The room was a good size, clean and modern. We arrived back from a wedding in a nearby hotel and went straight up to bed. While my friend was getting ready for bed, I was talking to her. I heard a knock on the door and it was two security men telling us they had received a noise complaint. I was alarmed by this and apologised but said we had just been talking normally. My friends in the room down the hall also received this complaint even though one of them was brushing her teeth at the time. I understand that the walls may be slightly thinner than average in the hotel, but that is no reason to advise paying guests they are making too much noise when getting ready for bed. Again, the staff were lovely but this was disappointing.

The hotel has a good location. Also the room are really nice, big and you got everything you maybe need. The staff was very welcomed and helpful. The breakfast is really nice, you'll find everything you need. Overall a very good experience.

Booked a night stay for a birthday and had 3 spa treatments(back massages and facial) booked from 1pm onwards. Got a phone call at 6.30 the night saying they cannot do the treatments as someone was out and offered a ‘hand treatment or something with 15% off’. We tried to cancel the hotel but couldn’t as needed more than 24hr hours before on booking.com to cancel. On arrival the situation was explained to the receptionist who explained that it’s not ‘her department’ or ‘problem’ and offered no suggestion on how to sort the problem. We than spoke to the duty manager later on which took 20 minutes to decide to offer us a ‘bottle of Prosecco ’ which would be sent to the room, and never was. I understand that problems can arise but we booked the nights stay for the spa use only as a present, and for receptionist to say it’s not her problem along with the duty manager is very unprofessional. The bar and food was beautiful with lovely staff so it’s a pity about the rest of the hotel.

We arrived and the door was broken so they made us walk all the way around the back of the hotel and go in a back entrance, when we came to the room not what all as I expected the air conditioning was broken their was no room service menu, we asked to move and they gave us a cheaper room then we payed for still no room service menu the fridge in the room was also broken. The bathroom was tiny and smelled like it had not been cleaned. Over all a very bad experience and will not be staying or recommending this hotel again.

I stayed 3 nights as part of my company's training. They provided a free shuttle to City Gate Industrial Estate each morning from 07:45 to 08:15 which I have to say I found very helpful. My room was quite big with plenty of storage and cupboards and hangers to hang up your clothes as well as a fridge and kettle. The restaurant was amazing too. I have got to say to anyone that eats there they have to try the southern fried chicken burger there, it is one of the delicious burgers I have ever tasted. Plenty of options on the menu, it's a little bit steep price-wise but I think It's worth it. The location is really good too as you are about a 5 minute walk from the Douglas Shopping Centre which also has restaurants, shops and other facilities. I would definitely recommend any to stay there if they are not too fussed going into the City, although a taxi into the city is still only 11-12 euro. Perfect hotel if you are attending something in Douglas or Mahon Point. Hotel staff were very helpful too and very accommodating
