The Croham Hotel

The croham looks ordinary from the outside. When you enter the reception it is clean airy and modern and in good decorative order as is all of the areas I saw. The man on reception was happy, friendly and helpful. There was a shortage of single rooms so I had to share with a colleague but the room was comfortable and clean. Worth the money.

We looked at other hotels before booking but prices were extortionate. Room was basic but clean so I suppose you get what you pay for. Whenever someone else in the building used the shower or flushed the toilet the water pipes sounded like the Titanic was coming in. The staff were friendly, especially Gee and Nina who made us feel very welcome and provided some light hearted entertainment during breakfast.

I was booked in another hotel up the road that was too noisy so booked a single room here for one night before heading home. Paid £75 for a room the size of a shoebox. Sat in the middle of the bed and it sandwiched around me, springs sticking through. Was awoken 3 times during the night to a banging on the headboard that was like a washing machine on spin!!! Every time someone on my floor used the water/flush/shower the water pipes made a horrific noise. Tv automatically turned itself on at 7.45am! Was charged £75 for one night then asked to pay £3 extra for wifi that kept cutting off. Breakfast was disgusting, not one item of crockery looked clean and staff couldn't understand English "scrambled eggs on toast" took five attempts, I complained the following morning and was told " I'll let the manager know, goodbye" Never again!! They want your money and don't want to provide the service

We booked The Croham Hotel before reading the reviews, if I read them before I would not of booked here, however we found the room to be clean and good enough our requirements. There was a couple of things that did not work though did not effect our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Ok. So after booking this through booking.com then reading the reviews I was going to cancel my booking! I looked at a few other nearby for same price and most had same type of reviews so unless I wanted to pay double this was best I was going to get! I took our own pillows and our own sheet just incase needed! When we arrived the man at reception was not cheerful at all.. not rude but not welcoming and friendly ! The room was very basic but clean and tidy and absolutely fine for a one or two night stay.. we were in Bournemouth to see the sights and shop so didn't even get to go into room till 7.30 pm then straight out again and back again just to sleep ! The bed wasn't very comfortable but again ok for one night ! Hot water in taps! Lights worked! Tele worked! Breakfast was a good size cooked breakfast and option of cereals..friendly staff in restaurant! Parking is limited but we found space at the rear of the property as front was crammed ! Defo not enough if hotel was full ! 10 min walk to sea front so perfect! We would defo go back again if just for a night or two ! We stayed in room 213 !

We knew this wasnt going to be a luxury experience but it was pretty damn awful missing basic conveniences. The shower was cold, the bedside lamp was broken, the phone didnt connect to anything, the night porter was very standoffish especially considering we came back before he should have closed the doors and worst of all loud music coming from the staff room that went on all afternoon and started again at 730 in the morning!

The room and bathroom seemed clean for the best part, except there were large cobwebs hanging down from the ceiling near the front door, it was so low we had to remove them ourselves. Receptionist was very polite, didn't mind pointing out the nearest and best restaurants in the area. Quite a standard hotel, decor was nice and seemed up to date. Price was good for what we received.

Me and friends had a couple of nights here in Bournemouth for a little break. The staff were extremely helpful and helped with issues that were beyond their control (car windscreen got damaged on route). The room was more than adequate in size for the four of us. The breakfast was tasty and filled us up for our exploring. Would definitely stay again when in Bournemouth.

The Croham Hotel is situated near West Clif in Bournemouth. It's ver definitely a budget hotel and is very tired and in need of some work. It has that 1970s guest house feel. The rooms were very basic, the beds not particularly comfy and the bathrooms were damp and the paint was peeling of the ceiling and in parts were just wet from mould and dampness The water pipes banged alarmingly everytime someone ran the water in other rooms. You had to pay £3.50 to park in the car park. There were notices in the room about not staining the sheets and causing damage to the room. There was a charge for wifi o £2.90 a day. The room we were in looked out onto the main road and it was extremely noisy. Would definitely not recommend the hotel and would not use it again.

Room - we paid £200 for a two night stay and it was the biggest waste of money I have spent. Firstly, the parking was very limited, small area, first come first serve. Costs an additional £6.00+ for two days. They do not enforce people to park in the lines so it was very difficult to get a space at first. When we checked in we went to our room which smelt of smoke. Although we were moved to an alternative room it wasn't very nice. The room was dated, the furniture was falling part and the tea/coffee facilities was unhygienic with just two loose teabags left on the side. There were signs up all around the room which were warning you of all the extras charges.....wifi £2.50 per day and if you stain the sheets with make-up or fake tan you will also be fined! Not the nicest of welcomes and doesn't set the seen for a calming environment. In the morning the shower had no hot water and the water pressure was very low so you got a drip of water. When I complained I got told we are fully booked and therefore that is what happens. Finally the website states the hotel has air conditioning but when we arrived the unit was still above the bed but it had been disconnected. I have complained to the hotel about the terrible experience but the only thing they can do is offer a discount off my next stay. Really? Next stay! All in all, I would definitely not stay here again and really regret spending the money I did on the two night stay.
