The Ritz-Carlton, Denver

Recent guest reviews

The service at the Ritz-Carlton Denver is always first-rate. Every single employee works to make sure that guests have no unmet needs. The hotel is starting to show its age, however. In our room's bathroom, for example, the finish on the frame around the mirror was worn in places, and one of the porcelain sinks was badly cracked. Nevertheless, our one-bedroom suite was spacious and very comfortable. My only real complaint is that the room always seemed dark, as every bulb in the room was of low wattage. Despite this, we'll definitely be back next time we stay in the downtown Denver theatre district.

This was our second trip to the Denver Ritz Carlton and we were very disappointed. Our first trip there last year was fantastic! This year the staff seemed less helpful - we had to request toilet tissue three times over several hours before they finally brought some to us and the food at Elway's Christmas morning was terrible!

Upon arrival at the Ritz by Uber, the front door staff was there to open the doors for us. When I informed the front desk staff that it was my wife and I's 30th wedding anniversary, she promptly upgraded us to a super nice corner suite with twice the square footage. This was a pleasant surprise!!! The bed in the room was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was huge. We had an outstanding dinner at Elways downstairs in the lobby. We will look forward to staying at the Ritz in Denver again.

its the Ritz... what can i say? everything was to my expectation.the hotel is beautiful, centrally located, had good service, and the restaurants offer very nice food. i love luxury, i love to be served. i dont like the prices, and the Carlton Ritz is out there in cost per night, but ... we only live once and if we can affford it we should pay for it... otherwise stay at a motel or a 3 star place. or a remote from the city place... its a choice. i had a good time with my daughter and my nephew....that is priceless!!!

Very great experience. First time staying and it was our one year anniversary. Beautiful suites and the spa was amazing.................

Courteous and caring staff. Excellent food at Elways

The stay at this wonderful hotel was a Christmas present to me , my husband, my sister and her husband. This is the place to go if you want to be pampered. Loved it. Renate

We loved our brief stay! The bed was delightful and the room was clean. The staff was very helpful throughout the hotel, unfortunately the least helpful person was the concierge, from whom we needed the most information. She was sub par and for a Ritz establishment, frankly I was surprised. Also, the coffee makers in the room were terrible, all I could make was espresso! That being said, we had a great time and our weekend without the children was delightful.

The Ritz Carlton Denver was excellent, my best experience at any RC so far. Nicely decorated (low key, quiet, elegant). Very nice room, comfortable bed, great bath/shower. Forza gym is tremendous, well equipped & clean. The restaurant was excellent too- perfectly cooked steak etc. and complementary coffee in lobby was fresh/delicious. But the reason ill return is the staff- friendly, helpful, well informed, energetic - from the front door and front desk to the restaurant staff. The RC Denver was an oasis- the high point of an otherwise stressful, tough trip.

I had never stayed at a Ritz before, but the price was good, so I thought I'd try. Wow! I'll stay there every time I go to Denver if I can. The room was the best I've ever stayed in. It was almost the size of a small apartment. There was a big marble tub and a separate shower (also marble). The shower had a mirror build into the wall and a small ledge in one corner about 6 inches off the floor, so that a person shaving could do so comfortably, regardless of whether shaving facial or leg hair. It was a small thing, but it showed that whoever designed the hotel was really thinking about a guest's comfort. The location of the Ritz was ideal. It was a block from the federal courthouse (my usual Denver business destination) and three blocks from the 16th Street Mall (the leisure center of town.) I attended a play and walked there and back comfortably. I spent an afternoon at the botanical gardens (the only place I went that was too far to walk), and the staff at the front entrance were quick to get me a taxi and provide me with a number to call to arrange for a ride back. Sorry for the long review; trying to be detailed. Let me explain the two categories that got 4 instead of 5. For amenities, there aren't any vending machines. Anywhere. I like soda, and I ended up stopping at a 7-11 around the corner to get it because you can't get it unless you buy it through room service or the mini bar. (A huge plus for the Ritz, though, when I asked about where I could buy a Diet Coke at one point, the manager had the maitre d' at the restaurant just give me one. I must have looked really pathetic.) The other dropped star was for the spa. I struggled with this because the volunteered Diet Coke would normally be an automatic 5 stars, but I've been to several spas, and the feel in this one was very different. The services were very good, but the staff was brusque and businesslike, rushing around rather than encouraging a relaxing atmosphere. They also automatically added a 20% gratuity. I generally tip 20% anyway, but having them add it to the bill and then ask if that was OK basically made it a mandatory fee rather than a gratuity.

SMILING AND HELPFUL STAFF... WELL SITUATED. BEDS AND LINENS SMELLED GOOD.

All around wonderful experience. Staff and accommodations at Denver RC excellent, as expected from previous RC stays.

Great location with very friendly staff. I have stayed at all of the "top" hotels in Denver and have found the one.

THe hotel was great. This was mainly due to the outstanding service provided by the hotel staff (On all shifts!) The standard room was advertised to be 550 sqft, however the room I got was small. I upgrade to the oone bdrm suite. The hotel is within a short walk to major attractions, sporting events and resturants. I will definitely stay at the Ritz again when I come to Denver

When we arrived at the hotel there were no valet attendants in sight and there was no one manning the front desk. We literally had to walk around to find someone to check us in, park our cars, and handle our luggage. Very disappointed with my Ritz Carlton experience.

Everyone was great. The service was excellent. I really enjoyed my stay.

This hotel exceeded our expectations! The staff greeted us every time they saw us. They were helpful, knowledgable, and interested in making our experience exceptional. The service was right on par with the elegant, clean, and luxurious decor and amenities of the hotel. We received very good service--and therefore did not mind paying relatively high prices for extras like parking, in room movies, and room service. Location was so central that restaurants, the theatre, and shops--were all within easy walking distance. One additional plus is that that its location was not encumbered by much traffic.. This part of downtown Denverwas safe, easy to navigate and very clean. I highly recommend it!

The location is great and the staff is amazing. They totally go out of their way to make sure you are happy and are SO great about giving advice about restaurants and tourist spots. They will make sure everything is taken care of for you, right down to booking your super shuttle to the airport! Best hotel I've ever stayed in. And the gym is great!

The Ritz was excellent. Service was fantastic - everyone was helpful and friendly. Room was large, very quiet and well-maintained. Spa was wonderful. We used the hotel valet - it was never more than 5 minutes from the time we called to the time we got our call. I would stay there again in a second.

The customer service was poor starting from the check in to drinks at Elways and check out. I requested two double beds and got a King in a handicap room....they would not exchange. It was nothing special. If you are looking for a little extra you will not get it here.
