Suite was spacious and beautifully decorated. Service was exceptional. Mountain Pass Sports Bar had a good selection and the choices I had were good. Service was very good. Having stayed at 4 other Gaylord properties, I was disappointed with the artificial plants and trees. The outside area was mostly weeds and not manicured like the other facilities in Orlando, Nashville, National Harbor and Grapevine, Texas. Hopefully over time this will improve but for my trip I was disappointed. Also, there is a lack of shopping. Not much to keep one here.
Only one thing could have made this better, more choices in the sports bar, as not much for children or those who just want something simple when traveling. A nice touch would be to include a pen each time the check is brought, the servers automatically assume you have pen. The pool is absolutely amazing but they do have times when lifeguards are not on duty but you can still access the pools, watch times carefully if you are not going with the kids. The biggest issue is the availability of an airport shuttle, was surprised they don't offer one at all!! Even one you must pay for. Is this a Gaylord thing, if so rebrand this a stand alone Marriott and change this.
This facility is beautiful, full of eager to help staff. I tried the 50 minute massage which was incredible, the pool facility was wonderful, the entire building is gorgeous. The restaurants were expensive and decent (similar to experiences at other gaylord hotels). Will return soon!
We enjoyed the National Boy Scout Meeting at the Gaylord. Our room was clean, very modern, and attended to daily. We ate two breakfasts meals at morning conferences. Both of which were well prepared and hot. Dinner in their Asian dining room was something else entirely. I can not recommend their dinner for 2 people. Skimpy cool servings made me wish I could have snagged a dinner in their Beef speciality dining room.
Got to spend 3 days at the new Gaylord in Denver. Fine facility with many fun options for families. Convention Center is huge! Banquet food was very good. Local dining can be expensive though. Very large sports bar and several outdoor gas fireplaces.
My wife and I spent 4 days (3 nights) at this hotel last week. We were attending the annual meeting of an organization to which we belong. Like all the Gaylords we have frequented (Nashville/Orlando) this one remarkable. It possesses a myriad of family activities and would be great for a family vacation or getaway. Our room was terrific and the staff was outstanding and responsive. One minor fault in our room was corrected quickly and required only the initial call to get the corrective action accomplished. We had meals at three of the restaurants and each meal was outstanding. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for two breakfasts and on lunch that were provided as part of the conference. They were notably below the standards of the meals served in the restaurants. Other than that I found the conference amenities very accommodating. Additionally, like its sister properties, this Gaylord is extremely expensive—even with the group rate covering conference attendees. One final criticism—the lack of an airport shuttle adds an additional expense for those using the property.
Still working out the kinks. Service in overpriced restraints is bad, you have to chase down servers for anything. Want a drink or something to eat at the pool? Better chase down a server. The afternoon treat for kids? 50-50 whether they will have it. Want to take the shuttle to train station? No telling when or if it will show up. And Don’t bother asking concierge, they will tell you the wrong times. All in all extremely disappointing. We’ve stayed at numerous Gaylord’s, this one is not comparable to other Gaylord’s. Would not stay again.
This was our 3rd Gaylord and our only bad experience. By phone I verified I could have forgotten items mailed to the front desk and delivered to room. Reverified at arrival. Items were delivered to mail center and payment for handing me a box was required. Since the second delivery cost less then the cost of being handed the box, I asked to have it returned to sender. I am still receiving calls from lost and found. Product will not be returned until I pay another fine for service. Forgotten razor would cost $25 to receive, $14 to purchase in gift shop and $10 to return - and I am talking about the bic disposable razor.
Conveniently located by the airport, and a short drive to civilization, just like any Gaylord property. Loved the rustic theme, with bronze horses running wild in front of the hotel, buttery leather chairs and sofas in the lobbies, Vista Montagne had a great breakast buffet for $25.00 each, Monte Jade Asian Fusion restaurant had great service and food. The usual top notch service by the staff, with smiles and greetings all around, as well as the convenience of having our conference on site at the convention center. An hour away is Evergreen and Golden, high up in the mountains. Drink plenty of water to avoid altitude sickness, and take aspirin if you get a headache, not ibuprofen. It will work faster.
You cannot NOT like this place. It’s grand! It’s new! It’s beautiful! It’s a Gaylord! What else can I say? If you ignore the super-high prices in the restaurants (and even worse if you need a porter to take something from your room to the convention center!), everything else is perfect.... almost. We were here for a convention, and the facility is very spacious and modern. Everyone at the hotel was VERY friendly and helpful. We understand that the artificial plants in the garden area are soon to be replaced by real ones. That will be VERY cool once it’s done. I could go on, but the one strange and glaring thing that simply doesn’t make any sense is the tiny size of the sinks in the bathroom! Whoever designed this should be forced to use it themselves. It’s so small that you can’t wash your hair in it. In fact, you have to be careful as you brush your teeth that you put your head way down close to it and aim accurately, or you will wind up spitting on the outside of the sink. There is PLENTY of room for bigger sinks! Why in the world are they so small? If my pictures come through, please note that the sink that is large enough to put your head in to wash your hair is NOT in the bedrooms, but in the restrooms at the convention center! The smaller one is the one in the bathrooms. Note my hand... Anyway, all said, a superb place. I gave it a four simply because of the sinks which, after all, are used more than most other things in a bathroom.
