We loved our one night stay at the Garnish House. From the moment we arrived and sat down for a welcome cup of tea and scones we had a great experience. Room was clean and had everything we needed and the breakfast was a perfect start to our walk around Cork in the morning

I had a great stay at Garnish House. Was visiting friends who are on the University of Cork faculty and they recommended Garnish House. Very friendly, efficient staff. Super clean. Very convenient to center of city and even train station (I'm a big walker, but also about 10 minutes by easy-to-summon taxi). University across the street. Extremely quiet: I slept through with no wake-up, rare for me. The full Irish breakfast was fantastic. Check out very quick, and I was in a bit of a hurry. Rates were very reasonable. About USD 85 a night, albeit it was November so off season. Excellent value for the money. So 5 dots from me. And I am a tough reviewer.

This is a really nice wee hotel and the staff were fantastic - very helpful & always cheery. It was really clean and well kept, a wee bit old fashioned but simple and secure. The breakfast is great at only 10 euros for a huge breakfast with anything that you could want. We went with a group and when we arrived they took the time to find out about us and why we were visiting with some good recommendations for sites and pubs. It's situated in a great area and is a 10 minute straight walk to the city centre so that was really handy too.

We were staying at garnish house late sept17 staff made us so welcome especially afternoon tea.breakfast superb and only a ten minute walk to city centre.cork is a lovely city but expensive.half hour bus trip to blarney castle if there is 4 of you.get a taxi just about the same as bus fare.cheers

Gorgeous B&B Spotless clean .Staff are friendly and helpful Breakfast is gorgeous lots of choices.Bus stop outside door to city or 10 mins walk. Would stay again on next trip to Cork.Rooms warm and cosy.

We stayed only one night, alas, in this lovely B&B directly across from the beautiful campus of University College Cork. As other reviewers have noted, the hosts (in our case, the very amiable Aoife) immediately greet visitors with a delicious array of scones, breads, and tea. Although our room faced the street, noise was not an issue. The room was comfortable and beautifully appointed, and the bathroom, although tiny, was clean and ergonomic. The English Market and other sites in the city center are about a 15-minute walk. (Americans longing for an outstanding bookstore should check out Waterstones.) We would definitely choose Garnish House again if we get back to Cork.

A very welcoming Bed & Breakfast located opposite the University on the Western Road, Cork, Ireland, just 10 mins walk to city center. Was offered tea and lots of pastries while waiting for room – not good for waistline but irresistible!. A bit expensive but wifi access, parking facilities and a small comfortable room. Very big choice for breakfast. Self-catering options and longterm letting.

Made a last minute booking on a Friday evening. Drove from Galway & arrived 10pm approx. Was offered tea & a scone which I really appreciated. Stayed in the 'other' house about a 3min drive away. 4 parking spaces (and a 5th if ppl park correctly). The single room was nice and cosy. Was at the back of the house so quiet with no traffic noise. A small & adequate ensuite with a decent shower- which I was grateful for. No kettle in the room but there's the use of the kitchen downstairs - perfectly acceptable. Exceptionally friendly staff- would definitely recommend & I'll definitely stay there again.

We arrived in Cork after a week in Brussels, Paris, and Munich for Oktoberfest, so needless to say, we were on fumes. We were welcomed by Mom (what we secretly referred to her as for making us feel right at home) with tea and a table full of pastries while our room was being prepared. Ten minutes later we were in our room that was both clean and quiet and that overlooked the main street that heads into the city center. The fantastic breakfast the following morning from their very extensive menu was the icing on the cake. This place is comfortable, affordable, in a perfect location, and was exactly what we needed before the rest of our week in Ireland. I won't come back without a trip to Cork, and I won't stay anywhere else. Thanks again!

Garnish is a lovely b&b within walking distance to the city centre with access to 2 buses if walking isn’t a preference. I was greeted by Marcel is who very friendly and offered tea and scones upon my arrival. My room was in the back and very quiet and comfortable. The gourmet breakfast was amazing and delicious! I would definitely stay here again if I am in the area.
