We had a very nice room with an attached bathroom. It had two beds and was very clean. The room was in the front of the building and it was a tad noisy at night with the vehicle and pedestrian traffic. The staff was absolutely pleasant and welcoming. We did have a little walk to the city center or the Gaol or restaurants but it wasn’t far enough to need a taxi. Will recommend and would stay here again! Thanks for making our trip so great!
The welcome we received on arrival was really good, the bedrooms were absolutely spotless and comfortable. The breakfast was, simply put ' the best I have ever had anywhere ', the quality was fabulous, the variety and choice - were absolutely fantastic and all served warmly by Ellen who also loved the food and clearly loved her job as well. Obviously very well managed too.
Clean, comfortable, great shower, friendly staff and free car parking, coffee/tea/scone on arrival. Super location to explore Cork on foot. Only 10 min to UCC, 5 min to restaurants like Rachel’s and Cafe Paradiso.
This is in a decent location, and the hosts were very friendly. Downsides were the very limited parking (and other guests and workmen who didn't care and abandoned their cars blocking in others), the fact that we were put in a different building across the road (this is fine, but really should be made clear after you book), and the fact that the wifi did not work at all. But let's be real- people stay here for the breakfasts. Three courses, with more combinations of food than you could imagine, plus the generous tables of fruits, cereals, breads and cakes. Pay the extra for breakfast, you won't regret it- we didn't need to eat until dinner time each day we were here!
I stayed here before the Cork Marathon and it was the perfect choice. It's a traditional bed and breakfast, and do they ever deliver on those two things. The bed is so comfortable that I basically slept the whole weekend and didn't see the city (so, thanks a lot bed person) and the breakfast is like a three course meal. They could hike the prices and I still don't see how they could break even on the breakfast.
Garnish House was one of the loveliest places I have stayed. The dining area was bright and warm. Upon arrival we were welcomed by Marianne. She was really friendly and helpful. We were immediately given tea and coffee and delicious scones. The breakfasts were really wonderful with a wide variety of choices. The porridge was the best I've ever tasted. The room was clean and inviting. The entire staff friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend Garnish House and I loved the city of Cork as well.
Room was very nice, toilet could use a renovation, the toilet heater wasn't working. Only 2 channels on TV, but it wasn't important to me. The staff was very kind, checking earlier and checkout later without problems, wonderful location.
We stayed for a night whilst travelling through Ireland. The staff were exceptionally friendly right from the get go, but not overbearing at all - just let you get on with your stay. We booked a superior room - nothing special, but was warm and had everything we needed for the night. Was what we expected considering the affordable price. Breakfast the next day was amazing. So many options in terms of hot food from the kitchen plus toast, pastries, fruit, and cereals at the buffet. Delicious.
Incredible breakfast. Options as good as any hotel/restaurant. Great vegan options. Free afternoon tea at any time. Good location opposite gates of ucc. Rooms clean. Comfy beds. I would definitely stay again
This B&B was a great experience. We called to say we would be arriving later in the evening. We were told whenever we arrived would be fine. We arrived about 9 PM and were immediately offered tea and scones. We asked for dinner recommendations first and were directed to several restaurants that were still serving dinner at that hour. We then asked for tea and scones after dinner and again, the staff was so accommodating. The scones were delicious. Breakfast was more than we could ever have asked for. Several courses and many options of delicious food. My husband and I had porridge , scones and kippers for breakfast which we haven’t had in years. We are a family of 5 with three adult children. Rooms were spacious and comfortable and the Garnish house is in the town center so whatever interests you in Cork is highly accessible. Would definitely stay here again.
