Scandic Palace Hotel

4.0 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

In the heart of Copenhagen close to Tivoli, the train station, and the walking street sits the classy Palace Hotel. Sophisticated and refined yet way and friendly. Highly recommended !

The problem was a group of drunks entered the room next door around midnight and were quite loud, I called the desk and they called the room but nothing happened. I called them again and I guess they sent someone to the room. Nothing changed. I then walked down to the desk. I told them was dissappointed and angry, wanting my room fee to be refunded. At that point the desk person said he would call the police on that room. Some time after that things did finally calm down. I did not ask for a refund the next morning. .

We booked this place because of the reviews and photos, but they are deceiving. The location is great, but the hotel facilities and rooms really need an update. The cleanness could also be better and it should be for the price they charge. I would not recommend this hotel. You can get a better deal in the city in this price range. Also, the city hall has a clock that bangs every 15 minutes from 8 am to midnight, so forget about sleeping in this time frame.

The elevators need upgrades. We had to wait longer than usual every time we needed them. Otherwise ok.

Right next to Stroget. Well within walking distance in old town.

We have stayed at the Scandic Palace several times, and we have always found it a very pleasant hotel. The central location is a definite plus. Breakfast is excellent.

Walking distance from Central Station and buses. Be prepared for church bells ringing until midnight. Front desk was helpful. Mattresses was soft. There is no heat in the bathroom, towel warmer was not working.

Good location. Good service. Essy access to taxis. No air conditioner in our room.

The lighting in the bathroom was too glaring to apply makeup and there was no full length mirror.

Ideal spot for exploring Copenhagen. Close to shopping and sight seeing.

The rooms and hotel are a bit odd. Just a carpet change and painting the walls other than white would be a tremendous improvement. The excellent and included buffet breakfast and location make this hotel worth a return

A stormy night, rain wind, a then a warm greeting , a good meal and a beautiful room.

Stayed one night prior to departure for cruise. Short walking distance from train station to hotel. Great location! Staff was friendly. Buffet breakfast was included. Overall experience was outstanding.

This hotel is ideally located- across the street from Tivoli, one block from the main shopping street of Stroget, one block from the hop on-hop off tourist bus. You can see the elegance of the hotel when it opened as the top hotel in the city- a bit faded now. But the rooms are fine. The only problem was when it got warm. There IS air-conditioning, but it's not very strong, and it took a long time for the room to cool off enough for sleeping. That would only rarely be a problem, though- we were there during a heat wave. The bathrooms are beautifully appointed- dispensers of soap and shampoo, a magnifying mirror, a fabulous hand-held shower wand that I would love to have at home. Breakfast is excellent- something for everyone, from cereal to eggs to pastries to herring. Overall, excellent value for the money.

The location is excellent. It is not first class but is acceptable for the money.

This hotel needs a lot of work. The carpets in the room and throughout the hotel were old and very dirty as well as the cloth furniture in the room which was badly discolored from dirt. The superior king room that we paid for was quite "compact". Regular rooms must be tiny. The breakfast that was served in the morning was nice and is included in all reservations.

Location is perfect, a 5 minute walk from Copenhagen Station which is 20 minutes from the airport. It is a true classic.

Upgraded my room, hot tasty breakfast, remodeled bath but average a/c during a hot summer

The hotel is nice. Needs some improvements, but in an awesome location.

This is a 100-year old hotel and has the style to prove it, including a great tower to rival the neighboring one from city hall. If you like old architecture, you will love this place. Not that it is decrepit: it has been fully refurbished around 2007. My room had a great view to the square, but most rooms look to the inner courtyard or the quiet back street. There was an interesting mix of luxury and not so luxury. The room was beautifully furnished but had cheap looking thin carpet with stains. The bathrooms (yes, plural! One with a sink and a toilet, another with a sink and a huge shower - go figure) where nice and modern. The windows and doors to the balcony seemed original to the building. Strange in such energy conscious times, but heck, I had a balcony with a stone column and arches. The location is the best if you want to explore the center of the city. The main walking street of the city starts a few steps for the entrance, full of shops and restaurants. Less touristy areas are a short walk away, too. The Tivoli amusement park and the main train station are also a 5 minute walk away. This hotel has no parking, and the cheapest parking garage nearby is 200 crowns a day. But within the city you don't necessarily need a car.
