We had a lovely three night stay in The Agent's Office in mid-January, and were lucky enough to have sun. The room is spacious, and during the day the sun shone through the window making the whole place bright and cheerful. The bed was very comfortable, and there are nice arm chairs and a small breakfast table (watch your knees) and chairs as well. I'm old enough to remember when showers in the UK could be a little anemic; not so with this one. The owners have done the place up really nicely with modern conveniences like a shaver outlet that accepts both US and European plugs. We didn't get to meet Alison, but Steve made sure all our needs were met, and I appreciated that he was willing to let us put a large volume of waste paperwork in the recycling bin. We were provided with prodigious amounts of breakfast food, enough to make a light lunch on one of the days as well. The cooker worked really well, and it was convenient to be able to prepare breakfast on our own schedule. I like that Steve and Alison source their breakfast selections locally. We unfortunately were traveling largely on business this trip and didn't get to do any local walks, but there look to be a number or nearby paths. There are maps and an array of leaflets provided. There's not much in Whitney on Wye, but Hay on Wye is very close and has some very nice places to eat. I had perhaps the best lamb I've ever eaten at the Old Black Lion in Hay. Highly recommend a stay at The Agent's House!!
