Argyll Guest House

Stench of sewage in my room

The Argyll Guest House is an annex of the Argyll Hotel, located in the basement across the street. The hotel itself and staff was lovely and in a wonderful location. But the guest house across the street has 3 single rooms in the basement with windows that open out into a court yard where sewage from the building is flushed out. The staff were wonderful and the breakfast lovely, but I couldn't get over the overwhelming stench of sewage permeating my room. Because the hotel was completely booked they couldn't move me but they did absolutely nothing, like comping my breakfast. This is a known problem and the excuse is "well, you have a budget room". If I had known budget meant sewage stench, I would not have booked the room.

The Victorian House

Got More Than I Expected

I stayed at this hotel in March of 2015 and it was incredible for the price (close to the cost of a hostel at the time). It was inexpensive, the rooms were very comfortable and clean, the hotel was in a fantastic location (not far from Buchannan Street), the staff was wonderful, and the tradition Scottish breakfast was superb. I would definitely recommend this place!

Courtyard by Marriott Glasgow Airport

Wonderful stay.

Room was clean, comfortable and quiet. They have noise reducing windows which blocked any highway and airport sound. Ten minutes walk to the airport and bus access to Glasgow City Center.

Hallmark Hotel Glasgow

Great Location

What a fabulous hotel- great location (right next to the Marriott and 5 minutes from Center City Glasgow). Extremely helpful staff, car park accross the street (very reasonable 3 pounds [$6.00] a day with unlimited in/out)-fabulous scottish breakfast, free newspaper. This was a real find and great bargain- they could not do enough for us-
