The room is lovely and very clean.

For almost $200 a night, it's simply not worth it. Stay somewhere else. Our hotel view was a brick wall and the other option was the parking lot. No breakfast or continental breakfast. The vending machines didn't work on all 4 floors so we couldn't even get bottled water. No coffee stations in the lobby. Literally no amenities at all. Beautiful historic hotel but nothing else. No stores in walking distance. Staff was like "what's the problem?"Wouldn't even offer nearby restaurant options. Told us to look at pamphlets by the door. Spend your money at a Marriott or another name brand hotel chain.

Perfect place downtown to walk shops & dinner.

disappointed with the level of housekeeping of our room. It seemed we were asking too much to have the bed made up each day. On the positive side, the rooms are quite soundproof. You don't hear noise from other rooms.

I LOVE THE ARE BUT I WAS CHARGED A DIFFERENT PRICE THAN WHAT I BOOKED IT FOR AND THE CLRECK DID NOT EVEN PROVIDE ME WITH A RECEIPT.

Great location within walking distance of lots of restaurants, transportation to downtown Chicago and safe area

We liked the classic style of the hotel and how it is tucked into a charming neighborhood. The hotel lobby and common areas were clean and inviting. The rooms were also very clean, well appointed and spacious. We had a double Queen for three people and we were able to move around, get ready and not be on top of each other. We will definitely stay here whenever we visit Chicago. We’ve told our friends and family about this surprise gem.

Everything was comfortable and clean.

Great location,

We loved the quaintness of the old building. The lobby was very nice and the rooms were well kept and clean. Housekeeping was right on top of anything we needed. The only issue we had was the wifi was very slow. And there was no safe in the room. It was nice to have a couple of restaurants on-site. The location was great. Close to everything and only 9 miles from the city.

This is an older hotel that is very well maintained. It has readily available parking and is in central downtown Oak Park. I will visit again.

Loved the history of the building and property. Loved the spaciousness of the room and the amenities in there. Could have more friendly front desk staff. They were ok but could be more welcoming. Perfect location for us!

Poor Phils no longer serves breakfast.

I love the character of the Carleton. Old world charm with modern day convenience. The staff are always courteous and accommodating. Love the team at Poor Phil’s for drinks at night but did miss the breakfasts they used to serve there.

Traveling during a pandemic meant that we didn't take full advantage of the hotel. It was a clean, comfortable place to stay, with very few other guests. Free parking is a huge plus, and the location is fabulous. The rooms are a little dated, but that's what an old hotel is. The beds were very comfortable, and cleanliness was most important to me.

The parking was with in a block of the hotel.the hotel amenities were good and the staff was friendly

Beautiful historic hotel in nice, walkable neighborhood with shops and restaurants.
