Came here for drinks and lunch before the Chester races with the Chester Business Club. The room we sat to dine was lovely. The hospitality team was at speed. Food was simple but tasty. Love the desserts.

The best way to find out a hotels resolve is when things go wrong. As friends, we went to the races. My suit carrier was mislaid by reception. A tag was put on my case but the carrier was separate. The hotel collectively searched the hotel, bought me a shirt for the day and relentlessly kept me informed. They seemed genuinely concerned and elated when it was found. I would like to personally thank everyone for their efforts. As a hotel, exceptional in all areas from friendliness, cleanliness, breakfast and all areas of service. Will be back next year.

After reading some good reviews we booked this hotel for our bank holiday weekend away in Chester. Upon arrival there was a queue at least 10 people long and only one member of staff so check in was VERY slow. When we were served we were told we had a twin room despite booking a double, we were not very happy about this at all. One member of staff telling us one thing and then another saying the polar opposite. The car park is tremendously small for the size of the hotel so we had to park in the opposite car park. The bathroom very dreary. The only plus side is the location which is smack bang in the City centre. Safe to say we will not be returning here.

Room was OK, paid for a club room for 2 nights and then we were upgraded as I am a Platinum member, things went a bit wrong from the start, we were a little early so left the bags at reception while we walked round Chester for an hour, when we came back to check in we were told that the bags had been taken to the room already, when we got up there no sign of the bags so back down to reception, they were still down there in the store cupboard. The first night in the club lounge the fridges were empty, the woman who was doing the canapes was very apologetic and said that it should have been done in the afternoon, she was excellent and went and brought all the beers and soft drinks on a trolley and stocked up the fridges, something that should have already been done, the second night was even worse, there were canapes but no plates, cutlery or any glasses to even have the very few bottles of soft drinks that were in the fridges, there were only 2 bottles of beer, people were using the saucers from the coffee cups and the teaspoons to serve the salsa, after about 30 minutes I went to the concierge to complain, he said he would inform the kitchen, after 15 minutes someone arrived with one case of beer, still no glasses, plates or cutlery, some plates were put out about 10 minutes later, people were asking him to wash glasses that had been used by other people so they could have a glass of wine. the lounge on both nights was very warm and we were feeling uncomfortable with the temperature so we left, On the second morning there was no milk for cereal or coffee, I was going to stay there again next weekend but i am going to cancel and stay somewhere else, things would have to improve considerably for me to book there again, staff on reception were friendly and helpful

great central location but windowless cavernous reception is hardly very welcoming and our room (137) had virtually no daylight as the window was very small. TV system was all to pot as the channel guide did not match the programs that were being transmitted. Breakfast buffet was extensive but why keep the butter portions in an ambient temperature so that the butter once you have opened the greasy pack is runny ? and I like a bit of cheese but not in individual sealed packs !

We stayed here on a weekend, as it was my wife’s birthday on Saturday and I was running the Chester half marathon on the Sunday. Our 6 year old daughter was with us and the hotel made up a camp bed in the room. The service was excellent, my wife was given chocolates on arrival as it was her birthday and reception checked with the kitchen when they would be open on the Sunday so I could eat early prior to running. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is good, near to the race course and 2-3 minutes walk from the centre of Chester.

We booked one night in the Crowne Plaza ahead of the Chester Half Marathon. Some of the most friendly reception staff we’ve seen for a long time (We do a fair few races and stop at many hotels). Our room was ready 3 hours ahead of the official check-in. Room was clean and comfortable. Car parking was £10 for one day which I believe is good value these days. We didn’t eat at the hotel but the menu looked good. We spent an hour in the Swimming pool on the Saturday which was clean and fine for a short break. The hotel’s location means its literally a 2 minute walk to the racecourse which was the start of the race, so ideal if you’re a runner. Check-out at noon meant we had time for a shower following the race and after checking out we were allowed to keep our car in the car park until 2pm without further charge. In summary if you’re staying in Chester then the Crowne Plaza is a great place to stay.

Hotel reception staff very helpful, shame we couldn’t get the upgrade which was a bit disappointing. Room was small and outlook was a bit grim but I don’t go away to look out of windows. We ate in the restaurant one evening, food was lovely and waitress very pleasant. Breakfast is one of the best I have had whilst away. Hotel room should have a safe!

We expected the usual high standards of Crowne Plaza experiences. But this one did not come up to previous expectations. The parking was very tight in the car park but we did finally get a space. This is a busy place so to be expected. The staff were all lovely and very helpful. Could not fault them at all. The rooms (We booked 2 as brought daughter and boyfriend) were disappointing. We booked premium doubles. The beds were comfy but on the small side. The rooms were spacious enough. But the bathrooms were awful. No ventilation that worked at all.. so were musty and dated. Could really do with being upgraded. My daughter found hairs in her bath. The food in the hotel was of average quality. Portions tiny for money charged. The breakfast was very good though. The decor of the hotel bar and restaurant was very good but the bedrooms let it down. The polite staff are an asset to this establishment though.

We were staying in Chester for the night with friends and this hotel seemed the perfect location so we booked it up. The hotel rooms itself are quite big the one we stayed in was not sure what they are like on different floors. The rooms are kept nicely just a tad too hot at night so had to open a window. The hotel staff at the reception were very polite and the breakfast was very tasty had lots of choice. A great hotel in the ideal location for a night out with friends.
