Visited for one night as a birthday treat from my boyfriend. On arrival we were advised by the lady on reception that we had been allocated a twin room with two single beds, however we had booked a double room via booking.com. This is something to maybe watch out for as apparently the hotel will just allocate whichever room is available. Luckily there were a few rooms unoccupied and we were upgraded to an executive double free of charge which was lovely of them. The room was spacious with a big bathroom filled with complimentary shower gels etc just in case you forget to pack them like we did!! The location is amazing, so close to all the shops, bars and restaurants in the town centre. The next morning we were woken to the sound of the fire alarm going off, we were told that this was just a routine drill however we were not made aware of this at check in which was a little annoying. All in all would definitely stay again when in Chester!
Good hotel . Rooms a little warm but for a reasonable price you get a room close to the centre of Chester. I would stay again. Shame that the pool was closed as this was the reason for booking the hotel !
The rooms here are of good standard water and chocolate in room and very clean. Bar is very limited and draught beer was questionable both lagers that I tried. They didn’t serve JD or Jim Beam why? Breakfast was very good and can have options other than English or cereal. They swimming pool was under repair when I went to go wasn’t advised about this at reception only found out when I got there and already changed.
Our stay at the Crowne Plaza was a very pleasant experience, the service was excellent as was the choice of food at breakfast, the Hotel was spacious and our room was comfortable and spotlessly clean with a generous hospitality tray. I left my toiletry bag behind and the staff were so helpful and returned it to me via Royal Mail. All members of staff we came in contact with were welcoming and helpful. The Hotel is ideally situated for the centre of Chester.
My husband and I stayed here last weekend it was perfect. Staff were very attentive. Room was an executive suit and perfect. If you book executive suit you have complimentary use of bar 5-8 with nibbles
Very nice hotel. Staff were very proffessional however I felt they could be been friendlier. I had a debit card swiped when I arrived which automatically took a payment £50 per room out just in case we charged anything to the room. This want explained to me on arrival that I should used a credit card. This made the funds unavailable to me for nearly 10 days. It cost me £28 due to having to make many many phone calls to the hotel to sort it out and I kept getting the standard response 'it's your banks fault.' There was no other way to contact the hotel either. This put a dampener on what would have been a lovely weekend break celebrating my mum's 70th birthday.
We stayed three nights and were upgraded to an executive room(3rd floor) which was nice. Parking was good but chargeable and location was great just off the rows area but quiet. However the restaurant and bar were very disappointing, not at all what was expected. Barely civil service. Except for Matthew who appeared to be covering room service, reception, and restaurant with a brilliant attitude.
We stayed here for two nights and were lucky enough to be upgraded to an executive room on the 3rd floor the room was lovely , with bathrobes and slippers and a good selection in the mini bar the spar is good but unfortunately breakfast on our first morning was slow and they seemed very short staffed as it was quite busy ... we also found the same on checkout , but breakfast on the second day was a lot better and this would not stop us from staying here again as the hotel is in an excellent location thank you for a lovely stay 😀
Stayed here on business. Arrived late (about 10pm). The staff were very helpful and the bar was still serving food at 10.30 on a Monday which was of great relief. The health facilities and pool looked great but unfortunately I never got to avail of them. The rooms were clean and of the standard you would expect from a crowne plaza.
Lovely hotel within walking distance from shopping centre which pleased my daughter no end. A bit short on milk for the tea and coffee but we sorted it out by ordering a jug of milk. Breakfast very nice and restaurant has nice views over the town
