Excellent Hotel! Especially the service at the Cinnamon Restaurant superbly supervised by Sai and The Pool, Gym and Spa under the exceptional, friendly and professional management of Bala - Sai and Bala (pictured) are great assets to the Trident Hotel, Chennai, India.

The staff and hotel excel in all areas of the hotel. We have now stayed at the Trident Chennai on two occasions and can thoroughly recommend it. Excellent food, comfortable room and outstanding service from all

Had a wonderful stay and the room was comfortable and cozy. We had lot of family come in to meet us and it was very convenient to stay near the airport too. The lobby was a nice and quite place to meet up and catch up with family.

Optimal hotel for business travellers, Quite close to the airport and key position. I spent just one night in the hotel, but I would have stayed longer. Excellent service with lovely personnel. Room well equiped, silent, enough large, clean and confortable. Very good foods at dinner and breakfast with large choise.

I was here for a short visit. The property is located close to airport. It has an old world charm. The garden is well maintained and was in bloom. The staff were pleasant. There were mosquitoes inside the room. Otherwise was pleasant.

A top-class hotel and a good choice if you have just arrived in Chennai or are about to leave. Service is professional; the whole place is spotlessly clean; the food is marvellous (be careful not to order too much - it's all so tempting); the rooms are comfortable and have everything you need. The hotel is of necessity almost completely geared towards the business traveller, but tourists need not feel neglected. The breakfast buffet selection is superb. There is a swimming pool and a peaceful garden - it will not become overcrowded, since the majority of guests are business people; you may even have it to yourself. The only problem with the hotel is that alcohol is exorbitantly expensive, a situation apparently connected with local taxation, according to management. Incidentally, the manager we spoke to was very pleased to discuss aspects of the hotel and receive feedback, and could not have been more helpful.

If I could give seven stars for the service at this hotel, then I would! On arrival, when we explained that we would not be leaving for our flight until 6 pm the following day, we were immediately given a complimentary late checkout time of 3 o'clock. In fact, when we checked out, the front desk manager said we could, if we so desired, keep the room until 6 o'clock. The bar staff and all the staff in the dining area were equally impeccable and helpful. Best coffee we had had all trip. In fact, the breakfast waiter replace one pot because it was not up to his very high standards! This is probably the best "airport access" hotel I have ever stayed in. The rooms are all deluxe, and even those facing the main road and airport are completely quiet thanks to very effective double glazing. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and all the public areas are airy, light, beautifully kept and serene. The buffet and à la carte food is excellent, though the food we had in the bar was below par. Apart from this, the only complaint I would make would be about the cost of alcohol, which is exorbitant. The manager was at pains to explain that this was due to taxes, and perhaps he is correct, though we did not have this experience elsewhere the same state. Even in Chennai’s notorious traffic, it only takes 10 minutes to drive to the airport from here. An ideal upmarket waiting room before your flight, or if you arrive long-haul and need somewhere to rest up.

Loved the Trident. Clean, comfortable rooms. Excellent food. Friendly staff (all of who spoke quite good English making my stay much easier than other places). The spa was excellent and run by a very kind and friendly man named Bala. He came give me an exceptional massage and was very accommodating to my needs. The Trident is expensive by India standards but very reasonable by western standards. Money well spent!

I stayed at the Trident early February as a stop-over hotel. The hotel is beautifully appointed and immaculately clean. It is so tranquil and quiet - hard to believe you are in a city. But most importantly the staff are so very friendly polite, and helpful. I travel to India on my own, to volunteer in a charity at Tiruvannamalai, as a lone female traveler they made me feel at ease and very secure. I was quite worried about getting from the airport to the hotel at night on my own but I emailed the hotel in advance and Avantika Singh organised my transport and was exceptionally reassuring and patient. I enjoyed my stay so much and the food was so good, that I returned on my homeward journey and had a meal there before my flight home. Even though I was just having a meal at the hotel and not staying, I was made to most feel comfortable and at ease. I would like to most sincerely thank John the concierge who was so welcoming on both my visits, and Sushant at the reception; also Sanket and TunTun in the dining room. They were all exceptionally attentive.  My next visit in July, I will feel able to stay longer in Chennai, at the Trident and explore this city. Thank you to all the staff at the Trident and I look forward to my next visit.
