For the price this room was great. Very clean and Andy told us to contact him if we needed anything. He was the friendliest and nicest front desk person ever (and we travel allot!). Haven't had the breakfast yet so can't comment on that. Wanted to write this review tonight since we want to get going early in the morning.
Non smoking room and it still smells like smoke probably from the hallway which stinks like cigarette smoke, bed very uncomfortable and pillows were old and worn down. Minimum towels put in the room. Room was cheaper online then getting in person. Would recommend anybody to spend the extra little bit and stay someplace else. I will never stay here again.
We stayed at this property once before and had a few minor complaints, but last night (3/4/17) was the crowning blow. We went to the room and noticed a musty smell. I overlooked that. I turned the covers back only to find no less than 10 hairs of various lengths and textures on the sheet. It was obvious the sheet had not been washed, and it was put on inside out, as if to hide dirt from the previous guest. I complained to the front desk, they moved us to a room across the hall. I immediately checked the beds and again, it was very obvious from the appearance and the smell that the sheets had not been washed. I found at least five hairs on the bottom sheets of both beds. Additionally, there was half a bottle of allergy pills on the floor and a used tissue wadded up in the corner. There were broken pieces of candy next to one bed and pieces of metal on the carpet between the beds. Obviously no vacuuming between guests. Bathroom floor had several hairs on it, also. There were no water cups in either room, and only two medium-sized towels in each. Half the ceiling around the tub in the second room was moldy. By this time it was 11 p.m. and too late to begin looking for another place to stay. We wiped off the beds and stayed. This was a $70 room, at that. I notified the front desk when we checked out and the owner/operator could not have been more disinterested. That was our last stay at that property, and we've been soured against EconoLodge in general. I plan to notify Choice properties of this situation, as well.
The manager of the hotel was very racist very rude and very aggressive. He made my hotel satay a very bad one. I lost my key and he gave me pure the hell saying. Why you always lose your key with is your problem? What is wrong with you? Made me very uncomfortable in going in and from my own room.
I chose this Econo Lodge simply because it was very inexpensive and had good ratings. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the room and the friendliness of the staff at the counter. The breakfast was basic, but for the price it was a good stay. It is also very accessible to all of the attractions on Lookout Mountain
Nice hotel for stay if you going to visit the Rock City... very close to the Rock City, very ftienxly people in the front desk, room was very clean, breakfast reasonable in the morning, for visit the Rock City this hotel is perfect, very close
We have spent quite a few nights at this hotel and have never been disappointed. Room and bathroom were clean with all the standard Econo Lodge amenities. Receptionist was very nice and actually knew how to check us in despite the computer being down. Only downside to this hotel is getting on and off the elevator - very little room to maneuver and I would not mind paying an extra dollar per night to get a little fabric softener in the towels.
Honestly I couldn't beat the price here (I paid $59 on hotels.com) for a hotel at the very FOOT of lookout mountain. I mean it is only one left turn away! Anyway, the folks who greeted us at the front desk were extremely nice. I was not sure what to expect from the look of the lobby. It's small. As for the hotel, it worked for me. It probably hasn't had a remodel since 1995 but everything in my room works, and everything is clean! The bed is comfy and they have a good cable tv channel selection. It's sort of a step down from motel 6, so if you are used to a Hilton hotel you may not agree with my rating, but I liked the place. There is a Mcdonalds next door, if you don't want the hotel breakfast, and a gas station and dollar general across the street. This hotel is only 6 minutes from lookout mountain as well as only 6 minutes from raccoon mountain. All other decent hotels in this area started around $90/night. I will stay here again. Again, thank you for being so friendly!
The grossest place I have ever stayed. Towels stained, unknown substance on chairs and comforter. The place should be a health code violation. He entire place had a foul odor. Sleeping in a parking lot would have been more sanitary.
Beware of hotels like this. Not only would they not honor the room saver hotel coupon for any weekend days but they charged me more than what I would have been charged on the website. Then I was told I was given a 20 percent senior discount when a much younger woman was given the same rate. As a diamond elite member I was taken advantage of and told a line about being in the prime of summer rate, before I had time to check the normal rate on their website. Very unhappy as this has never happened to us in our long travels. When I called Choice Priveledges I was told they were in a Presale and could not book me a room in this hotel. Be leary!
