Staff was great, but they were kind of behind the 8-ball. My biggest beef was room keys consistently not working, even upon check in…staff told me this was a frequent problem with many guests….a room key might work one day, but not the next (or even later the same day). I put up with it for 3 weeks (recurring work assignment), & then changed hotels, as there appeared to be no end in sight. Room wasn’t especially clean (carpet could be gross), dishes/silverware were hit & miss, & multiple lamps & electrical outlets didn’t work (across multiple rooms). Parking lot lights were hit & miss (often dark & sketchy). Sent an email to Sonesta regarding my concerns (& was told it was forwarded to local hotel management, but was not contacted by local hotel). I could not, & would not recommend Sonesta ES Suites Charlotte Arrowood to anyone (& I traveled & stayed there 3 nights a week for several weeks; smart, huh?) It was reasonably convenient to my job, but that’s the best I can say about them. There are much better options in close proximity.

The Breakfast was Excellent!! The wowen that ran the breakfast section was AMAZING! Very good customer service. The cleaning team was very good and friendly. This hotel is Pet-friendly, but our room wasn't presentable. The carpet had pet stains, Air filter was very dirty, and they have ROACHES!!

Mostly well-designed, but poorly maintained and dirty. Smoking and vaping everywhere in public areas in spite of signage an advertising. Bad smell. Bugs. Disgustingly dirty upholstery. Loud party while trying to sleep. Mold on air vents in our room.

Worst Place We could had stayed!!!

Made reservations ahead of time for a Digestive Specialist Appointment & received my confirmation, mind you I paid in full when reservations were made. Once arriving at hotel, l was informed by 2 rude young ladies I'd have to pay the deposit with my card, ABSOLUTELY no cash. Everywhere we've ever stayed has always put a "Hold" on my card & released hold upon checkout out. I didn't have that much on card so I moved my money around so I could just get our room & get to it as I'm sick. So once back to pay the EXTRA for 2 nights. We took the hit to the pocket & went on to room. Next morning we wake up to a cold room so my husband goes to turn heat on only to find we have no heat & it's totally broken including digital temperature display. I called front desk to let them know & it was one of the same young ladies that responded to me with she would notify maintenance who was familiar with it not working. Alright, agian we go on about day & appointment. Once returning this time, STILL no working heater/ac, I chatted with my 3rd party & they reached out to front desk. That's when it got even worse... When I returned to desk, the same young lady from past encounters informed me that it couldn't be fixed so they were switching rooms which was fine BUT if we had ANY ISSUES with that room I'd be asked to checkout because I had reached out to the 3rd party about the hotel & issues. I've NEVER felt more uncomfortable in my life in a city!!!!!!!

The smells

My stay started very bad after changing rooms due to a powerful smell of cigarettes. After we changed rooms our stay was ok. There were water brown spots on the bathroom ceiling and around the toilet. One remote for 3 TV's was crazy. Then, I was charged and extra $90 out of the blue.

I like this hotel, & have stayed there routinely while working in the Charlotte area. The hotel is quiet, the staff is friendly, & I feel safe there. But…(there’s always a but:-) The in room ice maker hasn’t been working on my last few stays, & there are no out of room ice machines on the premises.
