We got two very nice rooms with king size beds, each with their lovely bathroom in the deluxe suite option. The location could not be better. The small hotel is tastefully decorated and the manager, Angelica, is a charmer. You order your breakfast the night before from about five different options and it is promptly served on the downstairs dining room table or taken up to your room. There is a small but very nice rooftop pool with comfortable lounging chairs in the shade and a lovely view of of the adjacent rooftops and domes of churches. If you are looking for a hotel to gather with friends, this is not it. It has no lobby or common areas to speak of. The mattress is on the hard side, but that's just me, some people might like it that way. We will be back and will recommend it everyone we know!

This hotel is a hidden gem right inside the walls of the old city, a tranquil retreat from the busy outside world. The location couldn't be better, and once you go through the door into the hotel lobby, it's like you've found a hidden world. There's a pool on the first floor courtyard, and another on the rooftop (wonderful views). My family of four had one of the two bedroom apartments, and loved it! Quiet, cool, and very relaxing. I want to especially thank David and Daniela (and the rest of the staff) for a wonderful stay; I just wish we could have stayed longer. I would go back in a heartbeat!

Could not have been more pleased. We were shocked for what we got for the price. The room was very comfortable, breakfast was delicious and the staff was on time and went above and beyond to make sure orders were just right. The rooftop pool offered a welcome relief from the heat and was easy to take advantage of because the location was so central. Angelica, the manager was very helpful too. Great restaurant recommendations and was very helpful in making plans to visit the beach. Strong recommend.

Lovely hotel in the heart of the old city. Private, quiet, and luxurious. Angelica and her team were fabulous, helping with reservations for spa appointments and restaurant suggestions. Rooms are gorgeous. Beds are comfy. Roof top pool is amazing. Breakfast is delicious. This was my 4th stay there. It’s my favorite place to stay when in Cartagena.

We LOVED Casa Claver! This super cute boutique hotel is located in the heart of Cartagena and has the most gorgeous rooftop + pool overlooking one of the main churches, you literally can't go wrong with this place! The Breakfast each morning was delicious and fresh, we asked to eat ours by the pool on the roof and it was so special! Clean room and super helpful people. Definitely recommend this place!

Hey traveler! This hotel is amazing. Thank you to the staff: Angelica (manager), James, David and Vivian were great. They took good care of us from the hot breakfast, tourist recommendation and hotel service. Everything was excellent! We felt safe and the hotel is well kept. Great location and great for group travelers. I give this hotel two thumbs up!

If you’re looking for a place to stay in Cartagena, look no further. We’re so happy we chose Casa Claver. Security is great, a staff at the front desk 24/7 and the front door requires a pass to open. The rooms are spectacular: clean, air conditioned, spacious, amazing showers, comfy beds. Breakfast was delivered to our room every morning. The rooftop pool/terrace is so beautiful, with gorgeous flowers and a view of San Pedro Cathedral. It’s noisy at night (the many vendors outside), but you get used to it. If I’m ever back in Cartagena, I’ll be staying at this hotel!

Casa Claver is a hidden Jam in the middle of Cartagena's old city. The hotel houses in a beautifully renovated colonial building with 2 pools - one indoor and the other in the roof top terrace. The latter provides unbelievable view into the San Pedro Claver church and to the main Cathedral'a tower. The hotel is all about details - fresh cut flowers everywhere, local art and luxurious ambiance. The rooms are specious, beautifully decorated with stone walls and antique furniture. Bath rooms are modern, large and clean. The room is well appointed with safe, cable TV, bathroom toiletries, fully stocked mini bar and more. Breakfast can be eaten in the common area by the pool or in your room. You can choose between several options via a menu and the time you would like to be served. That is just one feature in the amazing service you will receive here. Charming Angelica, the manager, and James at the front desk, will provide you with top notch service including help with booking of excursions, airport transfer, restaurants and any other request you might have. They make you feel like home while give you a 5 star hotel service. I can't think of any better place to stay in Cartagena. It is highly recommended and I will surely stay there again.

Recently stayed at this hotel with my friend for two nights for my first visit to Cartagena. I arranged airport transfer directly with the hotel since I was nervous taking a taxi. The driver was a bit late, but I called the hotel and they were able to sort it very quickly. The hotel felt extremely safe. The hotel front door remains locked at all times. When we arrived to the hotel a front desk person met us outside and helped with our bags. We were given a front door key fob to access the hotel and room key. The front desk also provided a map of the walled city and outlined a few key places to visit during our stay. He also offered to make any reservations for us in advanced. Then he assisted us to our room carrying our bags to give us a tour of the facilities. Our room includes free daily breakfast to be delivered to our room every morning. We were able to choose from a variety of options and pick the time for it to be delivered. The breakfast was adequate and delicious! We booked a two bedroom suite with two king beds and two bathrooms. It was HUGE and beautifully decorated. Everything in the room was modern and very well done! The hotel grounds included a rooftop pool which gave you an incredible view of the city! It also has another small pool located on the ground lobby. We absolutely enjoyed our stay here and would visit again in the future!

For our last night in Cartagena, our group of 4 decided to book a night at Casa Claver. We booked a two bedroom apartment (201) and were extremely happy with our stay. The ceilings are high, the decor is lovely, the wrap around balcony allows for a beautiful overhead view of a few streets, and the space was just what we needed. Welcome area: The gentleman who checked us in (I forgot his name, but the guy with cool, funky glasses.) was incredibly kind and helpful. He explained everything to us, brought our bags up to our room, and showed us around the apartment. He also helped us in picking out our included breakfast. He was happy to speak to us in both English and Spanish. Apartment: We had two bedrooms, and one had two single beds, and the other had a king bed. For four friends, this was ideal for us. Having two bathrooms, both of which are LOVELY was awesome, too. The beds are a bit on the harder side, which I really enjoyed, so if you're looking for a super soft mattress, you may be disappointed. I slept in the king bed, and it was a fantastic night of sleep. The bed had six pillows for each side, so there was plenty of choice in how I wanted to sleep. The en suite bathroom is slightly open to the reception area, so any noises immediately come into the room. This also means that you need to keep the bathroom door closed to keep the bedroom cool with the AC on. (Very important!!) The shower is absolutely awesome. The water pressure and temperature were fantastic, and the room had four large towels for us to use. There's a big shelf for toiletries in front of the mirror, too. Two weird things: 1) the toilet paper is across from the toilet and basically on the floor. Not a problem...but weird. 2) We had a gecko visitor a few times throughout our 24-hour stay at Casa Claver, but it was clearly afraid of us, and we didn't mind a little bit of Colombian flavor paying us a visit. I can see how others may be uncomfortable by this; however, the bathroom is open to the very OPEN air lobby area, so visiting bugs/creatures aren't a surprise. The rest of the apartment was great! Huge seating area in the common space, a big kitchen (with mini bar in the fridge for an extra charge), washer/dryer if necessary, iron/ironing board, and a kitchen table with four chairs. We didn't need anything else! We ordered our breakfast, and it was delicious. Each breakfast included coffee, fresh orange juice, fresh mixed fruit, and an egg dish. There are tons of choices at the front desk. We ordered ours to be delivered to our apartment at 9:30, and it was there right on time and hot! Rooftop: There are 7 lounge chairs with lumbar support pillows and very comfortable cushions. 3 are in the sun and 4 are more in the shade. There was nobody up there when the four of us arrived, so we spread out and enjoyed the space. There are a TON of flowers up on the roof, and it is absolutely beautiful. (They water them daily, which sounds like rainfall as the water drains into the main lobby area's little decorative pool.) We had four towels to use at the time, but when I went upstairs at 8am the following morning, the towels hadn't been refreshed, so that was a little disappointing. The view is phenomenal. Casa Claver is situated between two historic churches, and there are other fascinating buildings around the area as well. The pool itself isn't huge, but its temperature is cool and the four water fountains are a nice, decorative touch. Also on the rooftop is a small kitchen with a grill, a steam room, and a very clean, fancy bathroom (nicer than mine at home!). You can bring your breakfast up to the roof, too. The ONLY con I can come up with, which isn't really that bad when you think about it, is that the apartment could be a bit loud throughout the night. It's an old building in the middle of a busy part of the city, so you could hear people/horses on the street throughout the night. However, it didn't keep me from a good sleep at all. :) Honestly, this was a great little hotel for four friends. We had enough space to spread out, and staying an additional night would've been icing on the cake. I enjoyed my time at Casa Claver and would recommend it for any travelers in the future.
