See all Long Beach Municipal car rentals

Bordering on Los Angeles and Orange County, Long Beach is a large port city in sunny Southern California. Also known as “The Urban Waterfront Playground”, a visit to Long Beach for a tour of the 1930s ocean liner is highly recommended. Additionally, admire sea life at the renowned Aquarium of the Pacific or cruise the Naples canal. Long Beach also has a ton of green spaces, including parks and hiking trails, beaches, and a variety of ethnic restaurants. Rent a car to explore noteable SoCal attractions, small beach towns and big cities along the west coast, such as San Diego, Orange County, or LA.

What to See in Long Beach

Did you know that you don’t have to travel to Venice, Italy, in order to experience a gondola ride? In Long Beach, Gondola Getaway offers cruises along the Naples canal. Enjoy the company of your friends, family, or your significant other as you listen to romantic serenades, gaze out over stunning sights, and cruise beneath gorgeous bridges.

If you’re there on the first Friday of every month, you should head over to The East Village Arts District for an Art Walk. Then, over 50 participating storefronts come together to celebrate art, small businesses, and restaurants. On the third Sunday of the month, visit the Long Beach Antique Market, an open-air flea market for antiques and collectibles. The market surrounds the Veteran’s Stadium and spans over 20 acres. There are over 800 vendors at the market who sell all sorts of goods including vintage furniture, garden ceramics, decor, clothing, books, and art.

Long Beach is a perfect destination to go on a scenic drive to nearby beach towns, deserts, and mountain ranges. Drive west, on a 50 miles round-trip, to Manhattan Beach. Along the way, you can enjoy the views of tankers and cruise ships, golf courses, and green spaces. You can also head south to Laguna Beach. It is a 70 miles round-trip. Enjoy beach towns, surf spots, and drive by wetlands. Lastly, from Long Beach you can also head east to Idyllwild, which is 220 miles away if you want to experience California’s snow capped mountains and deserts. Idyllwild is a small town high up in the Jacinto Mountains and has fantastic views of the surrounding scrublands.
