My partner and I have recently stayed for a week in the One and Only Cape Town. Wow - what can I say! We have stayed in hotels across the world - from Hong Kong, London, Paris, Boston US, Maldives and Thailand - and without a doubt, the One and Only cape Town, outperform the best of the best! On our arrival, the staff were attentive, friendly and extremely helpful. Our flight arrived early in the morning so we were concerned the hotel room wont be available when we arrived after 1000 in the morning. The extremely helpful receptionist immediately prepared out room and without any difficulties, placed us in the most fantastic island room. We also spent a few days in the Mountain view room a few days later. The rooms are exceptional. I personally preferred the mountain view room as there is nothing more spectacular than to wake every morning with the view of Table mountain - what a treat. The attention to detail is great and the staff, very attentive. My partner is allergic to feathers and within the hour, the staff changed the bedding for us. We had breakfast in the Reubens restaurant every morning which again, is a culinary feast for the eye and the hips. Again, after the second morning, the staff knew our favourite drink, our favourite seats and gave us the undivided attention you would expect of this grade of hotels. I have to mention Khylesha (the spelling is obviously wrong - my apologies), who is the one of the biggest assets to the One and Only team. He welcomed us every day at reception, took care of our car and made us smile everyday with hs warm sincere smile and reception - thank you I wish I could give the One and Only 6 star rating - they deserve this reward. Thank you One and Only for the fantastic holiday!
We spent 4 nights at the One & Only Cape Town and it exceeded all of our expectations. The location in the V&A Waterfront is fantastic; so much is within walking distance. The hotel itself is beautiful yet understated - it didn't feel stuffy or over-the-top elegant. We loved the Vista Bar (Elton was great!) and started our evening there each night. We ate dinner at Reuben's, which was delicious. Breakfast in Reuben's was perfect as well - there wasn't anything more we could have wanted. We stayed in a Premier Marina Mountain View King Room on the second floor - the balcony overlooking the island and Table Mountain was enormous - unfortunately the weather wasn't quite warm enough to really enjoy the balcony. The room was spacious and the bathroom was a dream. We utilized the hotel-recommended Jarat Tours for airport transfers as well as a Cape Point tour and they were great. The concierge was helpful in lining up dinner reservations. The island with the pool was beautiful - but again, too chilly to utilize unfortunately. All in all, a fantastic stay and very memorable - we loved our time in Cape Town and loved our time at the One & Only.
My husband and I were there for five nights, three with a tour group and two on our own. The room was spectacular with a view of Table Mountain. It was spacious and functional. The bathroom was exquisite with a large soak tub, large shower, closet and drawer space. The breakfast buffet was over the top. I have never seen so many choices. Quality of service and food was very good. They are well staffed and always asking about your stay. Very helpful in getting taxi's, making dinner reservations and even a doctor appointment. The hotel is very convenient to the wharf where there is an abundance of shopping, dining and entertainment. Can't say enough about this hotel. Top notch.
What a wonderful 1st high tea experience. From the Friendliest host ever to Vincent our very friendly waiter, tea expert at his best, attentive, a wow amazing customer service experience we received from him. Wide variety of buffet sweets, good variety of buffut savoury. Excellent quality food and tea selection. Definitely a must to visit. Keep up the great work.
Lovely property, great service, wonderful rooms and close to harbor and shopping. Outstanding all around. Concierge excellent and helpful. Beautiful breakfast spread every day, excellent quality of food. Spa is lovely. Scenic beauty excellent and lobby is spectacular. We were there 4 nights, enjoyed thoroughly.
The One and Only spa does in no way match the hotel. I was there today for a facial. I was horrified when I was shown the "indoor spa pool" and steam facilities. The whole area looks like something from the 1980's. It is dark, dank and completely outdated. Even the therapist remarked how many guests complain about it. The expensive facial was very very average, nothing special. I will never go back. In fact the whole hotel is completely overated, and will be avoided in the future. There are much better hotels in the area.
We have stayed at other 5 star hotels in and around Cape Town, but the One & Only is hard to beat. This included a 63sqm room with a view. Within walking distance of the V & A Waterfront with all it's marvelous shops and restaurants, but we still had dinner in the two restaurants in the hotel. The Spa was heavenly too. True service and hospitality. When it is done correctly, as it is here, there is nothing better. We were made to feel relaxed and comfortable throughout our stay. The staff went out of their way to ensure that we had all that we wanted. We didn't want to leave, and thought about changing the remainder of our trip so that we could stay for a couple more days.
Love Love Love this hotel so much we decided to Have our wedding reception there in April 2016. From planning to hospitality the staff spoilt us rotten.. Our guests had a blast and we can't wait to go back
Gorgeous hotel, great location and superb service! Everything about this hotel is fantastic! From check in to check out the staff was amazing, helpful and truly friendly. If you just hesitate for a moment you'll find someone reaching out to ask if you need anything. The room was gorgeous as was the view of Table Mountain. Their really should be a 6 star option for this property!
This is one of the nicest hotels you will ever stay in. They anticipate your every need want and or desire. The rooms are large and beautifully appointed. The beds are comfortable and the fruit tray is a nice touch. Our view of the harbor was nice even from the first floor. The concierge's help with our boarding passes and restaurants was wonderful. Also Reuben's and Nobu their on site restaurants are outstanding.
