The only thing I don't like they try to get people buy their time share

amazing time!!! The Staff, bar tenders, front desk, waiters, spa everyone was so welcoming and pleasant. Hotel is very clean. I had a massage, not so great. I think they need to improve on their food, definitely. But overall beautiful hotel

The staff is great. Food is great. A big variety of menus specially the buffet. A lot of seafood. Walking distance to clubs, shops etc.

They were great about keeping common areas clean and we're constantly sweeping away sand, even on the pool deck and outdoor areas. Entertainment was good. Pretty good food. Music by the pool was too much for me personally. And a crazy policy where if you left your chairs for more than 45mins, they would take them and give them to someone else and put your stuff at the front desk. This was upsetting. To come back from lunch and someone else in your chairs who wouldn't move.

Overall, we enjoyed our holiday, knowing that an all-inclusive entails certain compromises. Having children with us, this was great for them. The staff are extremely courteous and work very hard to make your stay as pleasant as possible. There is unfortunately a very strong "upsale" culture passed down from management. Upon arrival your are escorted to a sitting area where you are pitched on their loyalty program...hard. They promise huge discounts and savings on their services if you will sit in on a 90 minute demonstration of their program. We declined to do this, which then changed the attitude of some (few) of the staff towards us. As early risers we would witness the sales staff ambush people as they came out of the elevators in the morning, which I found a bit over the top. This was more amusing than anything, not a real problem if you just said a polite no thank you. We also founf that we were able to do several excursions on our own (trip to Isla Mujeres) cheaper Also, the beach is a little crowded, possibly due to the erosion of sand in front of the hotel which they are addressing by dredging sand in from offshore. Hopefully they can turn this problem around. As I said, the staff are all very courteous, but if you tip every one you will notice an extra level of service. I would prefer a shared system of gratuities where you tip at the end rather than every time you need staff assistance. Many of the people that work the hardest probably never see a dime of a tip.

Upon arrival, I found the atmosphere to be welcoming. Check in was OK. Of course, there is always someone there to try an sell you something. Despite the large number of people to be fed, the food was reasonably good. I had one bad experience in one of speciality restaurants. There are many stores, exchanges and a super market near by. The beach was very limited n space. Over all this was a pleasant experience.

Great resort. The food isn't all that well. It was the only down fall of our stay.

I was with family during this trip so I think this hotel was great for that. We didn't have any kids with us but I think it would be perfect for that. Staff was great and everything was easy to find. We had a wonderful time

I checked in a little before Christmas and although I know this season can be very hectic, the staff was quite rude still. They eventually gave me the wrong room with a "free upgrade" which I didnt even want. Then they told me that I could change my room to the correct one on my second day! I specifically payed to have that room originally.

We were very disappointed in our stay at Dreams Sands. We traveled there 10/29 - 11/6/16. While the reception desk staff and concierge were welcoming, none of the other hotel staff were. At other resorts we've stayed at, you couldn't pass an employee without them saying "ole" or good morning. Staff here did not greet you, only responded if you spoke to them. The resort was clean, however we felt the resort was crammed into a small space. While they claim to have beach volleyball, they do not - this was one reason we chose this resort as my husband loves to play beach volleyball. They had volleyball in the ocean instead. Perhaps it was the time of year we went, but there was no sun on the beach area until noon or so. The resort actually blocks the sun. The beach area was way too small and there were not enough chairs. So much so, that other people would take your chairs when you went to lunch, even though your towels were on them. The good thing is that the sand when going into the water was very soft and not rocky at all. The food at the buffet was not good. The ala carte restaurants were good, particularly the Italian and Asian. The room was clean, but water leaked all over the floor when having a shower as the door wasn't sealed properly. Overall, we were disappointed with the resort and will not be returning.

I really enjoyed this hotel. The beach was clean, with plenty of chairs, calm water, and even a volleyball net in the water. The food was awesome, unfortunately we were unable to try all of the restaurants, but the ones we did try we were quite pleased with the food, and service. The rooms were a good size, but the bathroom/sink area were a little on the tight side for us. I was told by a staff member that the hotel is getting remodeled later this year, and I cant wait to see what the outcome is! This hotel is family friendly too, so if you have kids, they do offer some type of camp/activities for them.

AMAZING. I WOULD GO AGAIN AND STAY AT THE DREAMS SANDS RESORT

We stayed at the Dreams Sands for 10 days. Overall it was a nice experience. The food was really good, especially fish dishes, and we enjoyed not having to make reservations for dinner. The dining options were first come, first serve although we never had to wait to be seated. We made use of the free room service on numerous occasions when stuck in the room during child naps. The staff throughout the resort were very friendly and accommodating. It seemed there were non-stop cleaning staff as well, always cleaning the beach/beach chairs/grounds/interior areas. The beach was good, not exceptional. Clean water with soft sand but not the best beach out there. I think this is more due to the location of the resort rather than the resort itself. My only complaint is that they staff was very sales pitchy at check-in trying to push their VIP service package. Just tell them you're not interested from the get go and they will leave you alone.

Yes, it's a little outdated as far as the building and rooms go. However, the service was solid, the food was excellent (not to mention convenient due to not having to make dinner reservations). Both pools allow children which kind of ruins the swim up bar experience because the kids like to bombard that area and take up the bartender's time with their non-alcoholic requests then promptly proceed to splash pool water into everyone else's drinks. I'd recommend at bare minimum roping off a portion of the pool surrounding the bar and making at least that little section for adults only.

The beach could not be any more beautiful. The staff was excellent and always made sure we had everything we needed. The only thing I feel needs improvement is the food.

front staff was rude. Shortage of lounge chairs which were always taken with no one on them. waiters/waitress were a pleasure and very pleasant. not a bad place but i've stayed at nicer for the cost.

The only thing I can say negative about the hotel is the on site restaurant "olios"after waiting an hour and a half sitting at the table, we decided it was to long too wait for lunch, so we went to the buffet instead. Dreams needs to rethink this one. I'll go back to dreams but skip 'Olios"

I would recommend to others because the location, food and staff was great and

Thank you for staying with us. We appreciate your review and we are happy that you enjoyed our services, food and entertainment. Our staff works hard to keep our guest happy! Also we feel very sorry that you didn't agree with our beach chairs policy, we just think that is really unfair for our guests not to be able to sit when nobody is using the chairs for more than one hour. We keep on doing improvements taking in consideration all the reviews from our guests. Thank you for your feedback.
