A lovely hotel with a fantastic beach and view! The grounds and beaches are spotless! The staff were friendly and kind and made our stay special. The food was good, especially the breakfast omelettes and morning mimosas! There are 5 pools and it is also a minute walk away from a boat ride to a beautiful island which you can see in the distance from the beach! Thank you Dos Playas for a great stay!
Has to be one of the worst experiences we ever had. Started with check in when the asked for ids. We left reception and realized we didn’t have our ids. Went back to the front desk and told them they hadn’t returned our ids. Agent at the desk said he was sure he returned them. We asked him to look. After 20 minutes the found them in the copy machine. The next day we got back from the beach at 4 pm and our room had not been cleaned. We got ready to go out and called the desk at 5pm and asked them to clean the room. We got back at 930 and the room had not been cleaned. Went to the front desk to talk to reception and were told I lit was cleaned. We told him he was wrong and he said somebody would come by and clean. Waited 1 hour for someone to show up. Net, net. Bad hotel bad food and horrible service. Worth an extra $100 night for a respectable hotel.
This hotel has two small beaches which are good enough to enjoy the water. Also they have 5 different pools where you can enjoy the day if you get tired of the ocean water. they have all inclusive plan so you don’t have to worry about food. You can see employees trying to keep the place up. There are trying to renovate the place so at this time so hopefully they get to compete with the big hotel chains Overall a good place to stay.
First let me tell you that the staff are wonderful, except for the pizza guy. The resort as my tittle says is very basic. You get what you expect from a resort but in a minimal quality and quantity. Lets start with the room(s) - very small with the balcony you can barely fit in more than two people or you run into the issue people bumping into each other Restaurants - after three(3) days you start getting tired of the food - mostly severed is pork. If you get good lunch, then expect the dinner is bread or vegetables in your diet. Beach - The areas to the left of the hotels has rocks in the water, the areas to the right has sandy bottom. We ended putting our stuff on the hotel side - under the permanent (wooden) umbrellas and walking between the pear and the boat house - were the locals swim and enjoyed ourselves there. One other nice thing about this its location. You can take the local bus into the Cancun 12 pesos ($ 0.85 Can or $ 0.65 Am) per person one way. As I said before staff are wonderful. The gust service representative, The Air Canada representative and the restaurant, bar staff and the house keeping staff. The only issue that I ran into a problem was the pizza guy. I don't like any toppings, and as I asked him for the pie crust in the oven, without even hearing me out, he would just say no. Finally I got mad, threw what I had i my hand in the garbage and another person said to him just put it in the oven - now here is the problem I don't whether he picked the pie from the garbage behind the counter or was there other pies there - I did not end up eating what was made as I was suspicious of the order. Dominant language spoken on the resort is Spanish. If you go, don't expect what you would be getting from the neighbor resort of RIU. Go with low expectations, and you wont be disappointed.
we stayed in hotel 8 days during Christmas.it was nicer then we expect.staff is amazing and friendly.for our request they gave us another room.no problem with that.food always fresh and tasty.the best of all is the location(few meters from ferry to Isla Mujeres). beautiful beach !good point for trips.we can recommend travel agency on rhs next to pharmacy(always negotiate the price!)we definitely would back there again
Booked this place knowing it was a 3 star. Good value for the money. Was prepared for some hassle based on reviews here. First, check-in was not pleasant. We arrived after midnight after a very long day of travel. Front desk guy was super unfriendly. Granted, we had not printed out the sheet he needed but he had the confirmation right in front of him. He reprimanded us like children. It was really very uncomfortable. I saw a sign saying that upgrades were available for an ocean view. I asked how much and he smirked at me and said that it was expensive and he never tried to sell us on it. Honestly, we were very interested in the upgrade but he couldn't be bothered. After he was done with that he insisted we wait for security to take us to our home so we wouldn't get lost. Now, I understand that the property spreads out for a bit but our building was right in front. All we had to do was walk outside and turn right. It wasn't rocket science! Every time we got close to the tour, he would raise his voice and tell us to wait. I'd had enough. We were exhausted and just wanted to go to bed. Frankly, if we can't follow simple instructions on a map, we shouldn't be leaving our own country! We ignored his calls and found our room in about 3 minutes. The room was basic, but that was fine. It was clean and the air conditioner worked really well. Nice big shower. The bed was firm but pretty comfortable. Only room complaint is they use flat sheets that don't fit the bed and come off when you get in. I don't think it's very hard to order a fitted king sized sheet from a hotel supply company. Chamber maids did a pretty good job everyday. Restaurant is decent. The food is what you'd expect at a 3 star. Good omelettes, waffles, and eggs and beans in the morning. Enjoyed the pizza at lunch. Every dinner had a few good offerings. The grill is really the spot to go every meal. Grounds are very well kept and everything is tidy. The beach access is wonderful. It's in a little cove so the water is a bit calmer. Pools are nice. The real bonus at this place is the staff. There are some really friendly folks here who work super hard. My big complaint was their New Year's eve celebration. My husband asked 3 times about reservations for the evening. Each time he was told no need, the only thing is if you want champagne you have to pay extra. We were told they were planning a lovely meal and we were looking forward to it. We watching the staff work super hard to set up on the grounds and it looked lovely. We got dressed up and headed down. That's when things fell apart. We went to move to a table and were quickly informed by staff that we had to pay for a bottle of champagne to sit at the outside tables. Okay, this wasn't something they'd mentioned during the THREE conversations my husband had with the restaurant staff. No problem, we said. How much? Well, within about 60 seconds we got about 5 different prices. It was 300 pesos, 380 pesos, 2000 pesos, 2800 pesos, 2300 pesos. It was a bottle of Moët & Chandon so we were fine paying a lot more for a bottle. We just wanted to know the price! In the end the staff just walked away from us and never provided us with an actual price. It was ridiculous! We wanted to buy a bottle of champagne and they couldn't be bothered to sell it to us! We went inside the regular restaurant with most of the other hotel guests and watched other people get turned away and frustrated with trying to figure out what the price of sitting at an outdoor table actually was! Most of those tables stayed empty for supper. All the work the staff put in for dinner and it went to waste because they couldn't provide guests with an actual price. Just weird. In the end we enjoyed the singer that performed later on. People moved into the tables after dinner was done and folks seemed to enjoy themselves. Despite the check-in issue and the problem with New Year's I would recommend this place. We really did enjoy our stay. Again, staff makes this place. Oh, the lady who worked the desk for check-out made up for the character who worked it for check-in! Maybe this place needs to listen to the check-in reviews here and do something about that.
Pros: the grounds are well kept staff friendly Cons: only two places to get coffee: the one restaurant they have (open at 7) and the lobby - both come out of an ancient coffee machine that seldoms works Food is bad and stone cold everytime Geared towards Spanish speaking tourists bathroom never cleaned ( hair on the floor there from the time we arrived to the time we left) two water bottles given upon arrival then never again - made to go to bottom of condo to get from water dispenser - no cups provided would I recommend? no would I come back again? no
The food was quite good for the price for all-inclusive. Improve the mosquitoe erradication and some refurbishing of restaurant close to the beach. It was a nice place to eat in, but it was dirty and in bad cobdition.
The hotel is pretty nice as for 3 stars. Clean and nice territory, friendly stuff, food is ok. Rooms are 3/5. Entertainment 3.5/5. Don't go outside of the hotel, it might be dangerous. The fun thing was that all around the hotel territory were iguanas, large lizards. These are pretty fun to feed and just watch.
I stayed in this property last week in an all inclusive plan, the property it self is confortable and the beach is only ok (there is much nicer beaches near by) the food was good for an all inclusive small hotel like this however they could have a bigger selection, room was confortable with a nice lagoon view. The bad: there is too many things being repaired in the hotel and makes it look dirty. Activities by the pool were boring it doesn’t attract the people.
