This is a great 3 star small hotel! It was great for the price- we had fun, good food, great drink service, and staff were very nice! I would recommend it here! Because it was odd peak season and it's small, it was a lovely, quite, peaceful beach and hotel experience!

It is a small hotel in the middle of gigantic hotel buildings . The beach is amazing, just a walk away from hotel rooms. The staff are great esp our amigo, Luis, from the dining room and Sara from the front desk. They are always helpful and happily answers any questions we have. The grounds are well maintained, every corner of the place seems attended. I am not fan of the daily menu but any recipe of the chicken never disappoint. If you want a personalize service, Dos playas is for you.

We had a great time with the staff there, especially Joseph, Gerardo and Monse. They were all extremely friendly, helpful and got involved in group activities making us feel welcome. They even gave us great recommendations for activities to do that ended up being a lot of fun and a good experience. Great staff, and genuinely nice people.

Very nice hotel and accommodating. We arrived early in the morning and they were very accommodating and allowing us to check in early. Not what I expected we were amazed of the outstanding service we received. The staff was very nice and friendly. The hotel is close to everything especially if you plan on going to Isla Mujeres. Relaxing first day in Cancun.

I really don't understand how this hotel is rated 3.5 star. It far exceeded my expectations. Staff were amazing and welcoming. Hotel was very clean, I mean it was spotless. Rooms were clean. The beach was one of the better beaches I've been to. Buffet was always good and the tacos on the other side of the beach were amazing. Would definitely visit here again.

Stayed here last week for 9 nights. It's what you expect for 3 stars! Pool is clean. Plenty sun beds around the hotel. Good view of the beach. Same food all week with special of the day! Bar doesn't open till 1030 in the morning! A/c worked good in the room. Shower water could have been a little warmer. Cleaner came every day and made the bed also. Good location not far from Coco Bongo and other clubs. Good hotel all round!

Terrible room worst ac doesn't work no hot water and the worst possible mattress ever; terrible service they they are rude and inattentive. Never will I come back to this old poor maintained hotel again.

Old fashion but interesting garden with shadow and well made lawns. Clean area, toilets etc. but beach is not so well made up. Sun beds: wet when rains and few days after rain. Positive: Dos Playas beach is better than eastern beach (stormy waves - no swimming). Good but monotonous lunch (the same menu for ever - sometimes modified by 'dish of the day'. Bar drinks well prepared. Nice waiters service English knowledge poor but you can manage to order food and drinks. Organized trips are more commercial oriented. Full day trip but 1,5 hour for Chichen Itza or 1 hour for Tulum visits. To Tulum you can go by minibus (Collectivo) from Commercial Mexicana parking. Cost 85 peso. Entrance to ruins: 70 peso. I recommend to spend half a day on Santa Fe extraordinary beach close to the ruins. Taxi from the beach to Grand Cenote is 170 peso (Caves!), entrance 180 peso.Sometimes It is better to take a taxi esp. for groups. 10-14 persons 12 hour trip to Holbox 250$, to Las Coloradas (red lagoons) 500$. Recommendation: SARA taxi phone (521) 9983170052 English speaking, You can call local from the hotel. North of Cancun is not so crowed and food is cheaper (lunch with drink: 80 peso)).Holbox Island more interesting than Mujeres (shallow warm water - no waves). Empty beaches! You can choose ferry (140 peso one way) or a boat for 5 hours - 500 peso/person (400 after negotiations) to visit lagoon nad Holbox. (return trip). Another tip: if you want to swim at eastern beach go to the beach area near Coco Bongo club and left to breakwater.

Recently spent a week here. We really enjoyed ourselves here. The food and staff were excellent the room was clean . The grounds were well maintained and a good location close access to all amenities and shopping. The only regret was not spending more time there in the days. I would like to thank all the staff too many to mention for making our stay more memorable .

Booked Dos Playas Beach House for a few days in Cancun at the end of a Playa del Carmen trip. Went for the price, but was pleasantly surprised at the size of the resort and it's location in the hotel zone. The room was small (2 twin beds), but okay for a few nights. They could do a better job on towels and bottled water, but were very accommodating when asked. The front desk staff was very good. Would stay there again in same circumstances (3 nights).
