After reading the other reviews I knew it wasn’t going to be a plush hotel, but well I am speechless. The only good comment I can give is the reception staff were friendly. We only stayed for one night and only spent about 5 hours sleeping there. The shower had hair in the base that proved it wasn’t cleaned properly. The bedroom was that old and basic it was falling apart. Wires hanging out of the phone and rust around air conditioning unit. There is no lift so if you have plenty of luggage as we did be prepared to lug it up the flights of steps. No doubt the worst place I have ever stayed, the hostel next door looked in better shape.

Yup, Coral Tree is in a great location you can easily walk to aquarium or Esplanade. Yes it’s really affordable - we had a family room with brekky included for less than $150 - bonza! Yes it’s showing some wear. Yes the tiles have a little mould but it’s Cairns, every hotel does. Even the really fancy ones. Our room didn’t smell mouldy or damp at all, in fact the air was a bit dry if anything. Yes it’s really clean, and not a single insect in the room which is rare in the tropics. Yes the staff are lovely and very helpful.

Stayed at the Coral Tree Inn for two nights. It was a lovely place to stay; clean and quiet. There is also a pool and BBQ area. What's more, it is not far from the airport and within walking distance to CBD, Cairns Central Shopping Centre, the Night Market and the Esplanade. The breakfast was good; more than enough variety to start your day off. The staff were very, very friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed my stay here. I will definitely stay here again if I am back in Cairns.

I enjoyed my stay with the most important feature being a comfy bed. The room was clean and fresh with new modern furnishings, staff were super friendly, and the buffet breakfast was delicious. As it was so convenient to everything I got fit and tanned just walking around glorious Cairns. Thanks everyone, I'll definitely be back!

I stayed at the Coral tree inn motel for 5 nights whilst visiting Cairns in March 2018. The bedroom itself was a decent size and also included a balcony that overlooked the courtyard and pool area. The double bed was solid but was unfortunately two single beds pushed together. The room was generally clean but not spotless and it does have that dated motel look about it. There is a fan and air conditioning so it was never too hot in the room which is useful in the tropical heat. The marina is about a 10-15 minute walk away as is most of Cairns attractions such as the mall, aquarium and esplanade. The staff at the front desk were always helpful although it is a limited service as the reception closes overnight. This is usually not a problem but a large group of Chinese tourists began shouting their conversations at each other in the hallway at 4am one night until another guest came out to tell them to shut up. Obviously this isn’t the motels fault but there would have been no management on hand to sort the problem out had they persisted. Overall this is a decent budget option in Cairns and I would recommend it as being a basic place to stay on a budget in the area.

This hotel was included in a package so we didn't expect to much we updated to a suite before we arrived which was a decent size but basic the room was quite clean but found a lot of mould in the bathroom at the difficult to get at places One thing which did annoy us was other guests letting doors slam from early in the morning maybe be a good idea for the hotel to put something on the doors to stop this Found the reception staff to be very pleasant and helpful and the breakfast was ok but got cold quick because of the plates not being warm

Stayed here twice before and after reef trip . Efficient check in and welcome , useful map and instructions for the esplanade from which it is about a 15 minute walk to the marina. No lifts if you have big luggage. No evening restaurant, but breakfast buffet available. Room reasonably clean , tea/ coffee and toiletries. Adequate towels. Fan and air con in room.

Arrived super early (8am) after a long flight, check in time was 2pm as we knew but didn't get any earlier check in at all, even though we saw plenty of people check out earlier. Rooms very basic, clean with AC, tea making facilities and a fridge to store any purchased items. Hotel is in a great location, 10 mins walk from Esplanade and lots of restaurants and bars. Room was dated but very basic, 2/3 star at best. We also didn't get our room serviced on the 2nd day, when enquiring was told this could be due to new eco friendly policies, but not sure. This was disappointing. Staff were friendly and lots of info on local places and tours available. Also note no elevators so be wary if you have lots of luggage. Overall fine for a basic stay, just expect basic!

We stayed here for 4 nights no way this is a 4 star hotel all the hotel websites neeed to go and do another review it’s more like 2 to 3 star at its best it’s dated. There are doors missing the ceiling fans are dirty there is mound in the shower the sofa is dirty they leave dirty sponge for you to use .the breakfast is basic I asked the chef for a omelette he said sorry I don’t have time they only thing this hotel has going is it’s staff are friendly and good location .we were on the top floor we had to walk up 4 flights of stairs no lifts don’t know how old people get on with. There luggage .trip advisor should never award this a4 star hotel.would never stop here again

We had a good stay here, we only used the hotel as a base for sleeping. The rooms are clean and bed is ok. Tea, coffee and water in room. Breakfast is available, however we did not try due to leaving early for trips. I emailed hotel of best company’s to book trips and they were great in advising me. The reception staff are very friendly and helpful. I would stay again if I find myself in Cairns.
