Lakeside is a collection of townhouses comprising permanent residents, long term renters and short stay holiday people with a lake as its most prominent feature. I think the 'mixed' occupancy is a plus as even in peak holiday periods the incidence of large numbers of people using common facilities such as the pool and BBQ area etc, at the same time, is lessened as are general noise levels. It is about 5 minutes drive out of town, but with a great cafe next door, and a 3 minute walk to a near deserted stretch of beach across the road.

An amazing place to stay!! Great location and not far from town. The apartments were extremely clean and had everything you could want in a home away from home. The pool area was a stand out for the kids (even in the middle of winter). The beautiful owners were very accomodating and gave us a lot of helpful information on the local area, they made us feel very welcomed. We will definitely be back. Thank you for a great 1st time Byron experience!

First time to Bryon Bay.. Impressed with this gorgeous 2 bed apartment, very clean and tastefully decorated. Appreciated the well stocked cupboards, plates, wine glasses, cutlery .. basically anything you may need. Loved the outdoor living spaces with water feature and the location a 15 minute walk to a quite beach and lake. Kids enjoyed the pool and free wifi. Will definitely come back.

Staff went beyond the call of duty. Apartment was very well equipped, clean, modern and well presented. Best location - start of town avoiding crowds. Set in well maintained grounds with a lovely pool.

Let me start this off by saying this place is nice. Like - drop your jaw a little when you arrive - kind of nice. Beautiful white color schemes give's this place a little peace of heaven feel. It's both elegant and clean throughout the complex, but I'd say this is more the occupants than the staff. I didn't see much staff working around the place so assumed it was very low maintenance there, which is good if you're looking for some peace and quiet of peak season. The apartments are a little expensive. However this is one of the best priced for Byron Bay. The apartment was large, spacious and quite modern. Very practical and resourceful with the laundry and washing appliances. The space out the back is great for a few afternoon drinks before heading to the beach slightly tipsy to throw a frisbee or one of the pubs to get a little cheeky. Its a little out of town but nothing a maxi taxi with a total price $17 won't fix. So be prepared with some extra cash for taxi rides (Parking isn't too expensive but it will add up over a week). I tried using uber but Byron Bay seems to be stuck in the 00's. The beach is about a 15 minute walk through some nature trails. This is not the main beach but more of a quiet beach, with a lake just beside it. You will see a few runners and long distance walkers and surfers but that's about it - great for some private time. Great places to visit, very relaxing, great 18+ fun. Go with friends and enjoy a little holiday from work. ps. Enjoy the great cafe right next to the apartments.

Can highly recommend this place to anyone wanting a chilled out Byron getaway. We stayed in a gorgeous and spotless 1 bedroom apartment, and had absolutely everything we needed including top notch coffee and food from just next door at the Roadhouse Cafe. Far enough out of town to get away from the hustle and bustle and relax by the impeccably clean and serene pool surrounded by luscious green and incredibly well maintain gardens, but still close enough to grab a bike from the office (so convenient!) and cruise into town for some world class dining, incredible scenery and amazing beach hangs! The property managers Peter and Narelle went above and beyond for us with their wealth of local knowledge and tips, including the best places to eat and the location of a secret "locals only" waterfall and swimming hole for one of our day trips up to the hinterland. Being pregnant my main priority was good healthy food and there was no shortage of recommendations from this lovely couple who were so warm and welcoming and made us feel like family. Perfectly located between the beautiful Broken Head and the Lighthouse, we had our pick of incredible beaches to choose from on what felt like just at our doorstep. Cannot recommend this place enough!

We had people that live in this resort complaining about the kids on they scooters and skateboards as they live there. Seemed that it was more of a place were people live than a holiday apartment.Pool was not heated .

Great place to stay only a short walk into town. Unit was a perfect size for 4 adults, couch was super comfortable to lounge on. Grounds were beautifully maintained and unit was clean dressed with lovely furnishings. Very happy with our stay here.

Had everything we needed. You need a car as on the outskirts but everything just 10 mins drive. Kids loved the pool and owners very helpful. Wifi available but a bit slow. Would reccomend this place for self-caterers.

Everything that you need is in these units including washing machine and tumble dryer. Bed was very comfortable the one we stayed in was a little bit dated and could do with a little tlc. But having said that we were not in it a lot.I was surprised how quite it was especially at night we didn't here a sound so got a very good nights sleep.Nice swimming pool and surrounds especially liked the ducks visiting. The lady I meet when I checked in was extremely nice and very helpful.Its about a 20 min walk into the main part of Byron but we are quite fast walkers.You can also go across the road and though a forest to get to Tallows beach and cut through up to the lighthouse and along to the main area of Byron which takes a bit longer but who's in a rush.All in all a nice stay and I would return.Also nice little bar round the corner that serves breakfast lunch and dinner.
