We stayed at the Hotel which is right next to the beach and a short walk from Byron Bay bars and restaurants. The motel is a typical motel with no frills but we paid $330 which I thought was expensive. Great location but lacking a bit for the price

I stayed for two nights at the Wollongbar Motel in March 2018 whilst on a trip to Byron Bay. The motel is relatively close to the town centre of Byron without being directly in the middle. There is a shortcut from the property that leads you directly to the beach. The check in staff were helpful and provided me with a map of the area and where to go/what to see. The room itself was dated and fairly grimy. A couple of small lizards found their way into my room along with some ants. There were numerous stains on the brick walls which looked as though they had come from people squishing insects. The bed was comfortable although the other amenities in the room were all fairly old. I stayed at this motel as it was one of the cheaper last minute options available, it was fine enough for a short visit but if I were to visit Byron again I would look for accommodation that was more modern and closer to the main strip of bars and restaurants.

Got a good deal online for this place. Close to the main centre of Byron and has easy walk to beach from back gate. Rooms oldish but clean and tidy. Close to shops and dining. Friendly check in and polite staff. A little slow serving room but was only an issue as I wanted to have an afternoon nap :-).

Couldn't believe how lucky we were to get a couple of rooms here at the height of the season for just one night. A stop off at BB is essential on a road trip from Briso to Sydney and the small, brilliantly located Motel fitted the bill. Look, its a Motel. Rooms basic, no frills, food or room service. Forget that. But the Reception staff could not be more friendly and the location, wow. Literally, walk out the back gate and 50 m later you are on one of the nicest beaches in the area. Or, walk into the brilliant, buzzing town of Byron which is less than half a K. A little pool also is nice, and you can also get a cold beer from the fridge in reception. Parking outside the room too, and nothing too expensive. Thanks, good stay.

My son and I shared a room- parked outside ok- small kitchen and good wifi. Spacious and clean and it was an easy walk into Byron where nightlife was buzzing with character. Has an access to actual beach through rear fence past the pool complex.

Nice basic motel good location very clean with excellent access to the beach 🏖 only gripe you would get better WiFi on Mars, the staff were very helpful we arrived late and they waited for us with our key, on the whole enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

Stayed here for a couple of nights as part of a roadtrip between Brisbane and Sydney. we loved Byron Bay and the stunning beaches Had we been staying longer then would have liked something fancier but was ok for 2 nights. The family room was clean and spacious and had some basic facilities for making breakfast The decor was a little tired and dated, location was excellent with access to beach and town. Suited us for a budget Stopover.

A nice well appointed hotel in the heart of Byron Bay. Thr rooms are spacious and have the requirements required for a comfortable stay in a good location in the heart of Byron Bay. Only a short stroll to the main Byron precinct. The only thing we noticed was the hot water took a long time to get through to the shower head.

An old motel close to the busy shopping and entertainment area of Byron and the beach. The room was uninspiring with white walls and no prints to break the monotony. The chairs and table were plastic and too big for the space. We had a sliding door which you couldn't leave open as the smoker next door was sitting next to our door puffing away happily. There are better options nearby. Reception closes at 7pm.

Chose it on location and reviews. Weren't disappointed. Very clean, great location only a few minutes walk to 100's of shops, private beach access. No meals but plenty of nearby options. Very large bathrooms. Good parking. Would return.
