As far as motels go, this one was above average. The room was light, modern and clean. Great shower. Quiet location near the centre and within 5 minutes' walk to the beach. Staff helpful. Byron bay is a good town to visit for a couple of days. Take a walk along the coastal route to the lighthouse - takes about an hour - gorgeous scenery.
Now under "Waves" Management the units have been refurbished. I found my unit exceptional for one with a short walk to beach, shops & restaurants without using the car. Bree & Jodie on reception at "Waves" around the corner when I checked in, made me feel just so welcome as well as Michelle on house keeping. Enjoyed my stay.
This small motel in the centre near the beach was ideal for us. The room wasn't large but was quite adequate for our purpose. It was airy and light, and nice and clean. The staff at Waves next door, who were managing the accommodation were helpful and friendly.
Stayed here recently for two nights over the long weekend. We just wanted something reasonably priced. This would have to be the best motel I have ever stayed in. The rooms are renovated and modern. Clean and comfortable. Great location in town. Friendly staff. Good for parking if doing a road trip like we were. Highly recommend for stays in the motel price range and expectation.
Fantastic and helpful staff. Really clean rooms, especially considering how close to the beach and the amount of sand in the surrounding streets. Quiet, close to everything. Couldn't have asked for better budget accom. Thanks for a great stay (so sorry for such a late review)
Small motel just at edge of CBD we walked everywhere. Had everything we needed. The only one negative would be that bathroom was a bit squishy between shower and vanity. Hopefully it doesn't get replaced in it's current form.
We were extreme disappointed with the Hibiscus motel. The WAVES resort next door has taken over management for the motel and their response to any issues was that they had little idea about the place. We discovered there was no servicing of the rooms although it wasn't an apartment. We requested a service after 4 days and were told it wasn't normally provided but they would do it as a gesture of goodwill. We reread the information provided and long stays were supposed to have the linen changed after three days so after five days we asked for a change of linen and although done, we were made feel a nuisance. The TV didn't work and we were told that all rooms had problems. We also had time limits on the wifi which wasn't clear in the advertising. We couldn't get it working and were told we could use the lounge of resort next door in office hours. Again made feel a nuisance when requesting the use of iron and ironing board. On check out I said I would never come back and was asked what was the problem!!
Our family of 3 stayed for 2 nights while visiting Byron Bay. The staff is super friendly and the room was nice and clean. We enjoyed our stay a lot! Hibiscus motel is close to the Main beach, bus station, information center, restaurants and shops. It's a little walk to the supermarket though, but it is not far. We got a very nice baby crib put up for our kid without extra cost and there were both beach towels and beach umbrellas to borrow, which we appreciated a lot!
Location is awesome. Staff are lovely. So clean and tidy. I was very impressed. Only problem was we had some teenage girls staying on the room next door who were coming and going, slamming their door and yahooing and screaming until well after midnight.
For the first time in my life I read reviews before booking. I was going to book Atlantic, which more more expensive. But was drawn to Hibiscus. I was treated like a prince. Nothing was to much trouble. I felt safe. The motel is so clean. I would return. Great value for money . Del Oxford
