Discovery Parks – Byron Bay3.5 out of 5.0

Booked cabin for weekend with family, the cabins are small and very basic. The first night, the noise from other holiday makers kept us up all night, loud music and arguing till the wee hours of the morning. Don't know where the so called "security" was. To the credit of the staff when I complained they moved the trouble makers along. Probably a good place for families to stay OUT of Byron for a cheap holiday. The park is about 7 kms from Byron itself. Plenty of things for kids to do.
My wife and 2 children aged 7 & 5 stayed in a cabin for 3 nights and my children had the best time. My son has been on my back ever since asking when he can return to "his Byron holiday home". Every night the kids would struggle to even stay awake and eat dinner as they were so exhausted from all of the activities they did such as swimming, jumping balloon, water park and riding bikes. The park was busy but quiet at night and the staff were always willing to help with any questions we had. We can't wait to return.
Very nice was very clean. Has also has great facilities. Front desk staff were great and very helpful and could not do enough. The only down side was that we found it fairly expensive for our site. And they charge per person as well.
We recently stayed with our 3 kids in a Deluxe 2 Bedroom Cabin. The cabin was beautiful - clean, spacious and had a full kitchen. We all enjoyed sitting on the balcony looking over the lake and watching the ducks. The beds were all very comfortable, the water pressure in the shower was great and we had free wi-fi for our stay. Our kids had a great time playing in the waterpark and pool. It was also only a short drive into Byron's town centre. 2 days was definitely not enough for us at this wonderful park and we are already planning our next trip. We look forward to returning!
We booked one superior cabin for 3 and a standard cabin for 2 based on the description and pics online. We were utterly disappointed with both cabins and felt very ripped off. We felt that this park lets down Discovery Parks in general as our cabins were substandard. The "Superior" cabin was old, tired, cramped and had a kitchen which bore no resemblance to that depicted online. The standard cabin, of which we expected less, still failed to deliver. The TV could not tune in any channels, there was no driveway, just a sandy potholes space for us to park our car. And even that was blocked by the neighbours four vehicles. To be fair, the bedroom and bathroom were ok but it was not what the website led us to believe. BEWARE.
We've just returned from a fabulous 5 day break at this place. We stayed in a two bed standard cabin which was perfect for our needs (2 adults, 3 year old and an 8 month old). Information given on arrival was detailed and really helpful for familiarize for ourselves with the locality. Facilities at the park were great, quiet and very friendly. Miss 3 loved scooting around and making new friends and looking at all the wildlife. We had issues with our car breaking down and the team at the park were very helpful allowing us a late check out until we had sourced a hire car We're looking forward to returning soon!
We stayed for two nights in a standard two bed cabin with two children and three adults. Very clean accommodation. A starter pack is included with tea, coffee, milk and washing up products which we found very useful. The best thing about the park for us was the amazing splash park, swimming pool and bounce pillow- my kids could have stayed there all day. Beautiful Bryon Bay is nearby with plenty of shops and restaurants. If we pass this way again we will definitely return!
Was a fine stay at this park, for the first time. We took a cabin with ensuite and ample parking space. The cabin was clean and functional. The surroundings appeared well kept and the park was quiet, although that is probably not always the case depending on groups staying there - this is Byron Bay after all. So long as you realise you are visiting the schoolie capital of NSW (Byron Bay is not especially pleasant during these binge periods), then you will have no problems. The staff were excellent. The location is a little out of Byron's CBD, and Byron's outrageous traffic congestion is always a problem and scandal. It is not too far to walk to the CBD, but youd probably be best to drive if you want to do any shopping. The rates are very reasonable. I would highly recommend this park.
My stay was in a 2 person self contained duplex styled cabin (3-4 entry stairs) in July 2017 for my teen daughter and I. The cabin of 139B outlook was situated over a small lake close to a small fountain as it could be heard. The furnishings were sturdy, the decor was light, airy and clean. The KingBed was the highlight as it was extremely comfortable. The Tv was medium size and upto date for use of HDMI or USB. The Kitchen utilities were very adequate. The medium size fridge and microwave was handy. The Balcony was ideal and equiped with timber table and chairs. Bathroom/toilet combined with good lighting, bench space and /or mirror for the ladies. Its a security gated community with cabins and caravan park areas were you are able to park vehicles infront of your own cabin/caravans. The Kids entertainment facilities are fenced and together in a central area and well maintained. This area includes a large jumping platform, 2 large pools (cold), and the separate water slide/activity park and a tennis court which makes for lots of fun for kids and easy to supervise. Kids hire activies available also. The activity park makes this place highly recomended for Byron Bay relaxation seekers with younger ones. Signage for the over 10yo to play unsupervised may be suitable for some too. The community camp kitchen always appeared to be friendly and busy at meal times. ** Negatives: No Concerning Negatives altho the free Internet was inadequate to use. The parks all year outdoor pools are Not heated. It's situated quite a distance to ByronBay Central, altho you could ride a bicycle other than drive! No heated Spa at either pools?
Our family loved this caravan park. The staff were so nice and the park was great fun for our 5 boys and 1 of their friends. Great facilitates with the jumping pillow, pools, court and hire billy carts. Very clean and well set out, but the staff really made it for us. Will be back next year to escape the Victorian winter The goode family, port Melb
