It was negative 8 degrees outside… we were forced to leave our house because of a sewage . I had stayed at this hotel many years ago and it was OK but this time was a nightmare. The first thing we noticed was at the door did not shut unless you slammed. Second, it’s smelled like weed, then we noticed that the room was dirty- crumbs all around stove and some old cheese in the fridge. No garbage bag in the can, many blood stains on carpet and bathroom floor was dirty. Frigid arctic air blowing in from two sides of room. We were so cold and our feet were numb. We had a toddler with us too. Gap around door of about 1/2 inch letting arctic air blow in! We couldn’t get our money back because we had booked through Orbitz so the hotel said they could do nothing about that. All I know is we will never go back there again.

Upon arrival we noticed that room was not clean. There was hair in both bathrooms and around the sinks. The upstairs bed was missing sheets and all the tv’s were missing the remotes. We called the front desk and they brought us sheets and had to call again for remotes. We ended up cleaning and disinfecting both bathrooms and kitchen so we didn’t have to call for the third time. The ceiling fan in the living did not work and the light flickered and buzzed when you turned it on. We found old socks in the upstairs and other items from the last guest that were not picked up.

The room was ok , but not as clean as it could have been , there were some stains on the carpet and a lot of dust on the top of our headboard , etc . The pool didn’t work which is one of the reasons we chose the hotel . The person that I spoke to the day before we checked in and said that it was being worked on, and it might be fixed the next day but he couldn’t promise . Upon check in the very very sweet girl that worked at the front desk said no, it’s not expected to be ready for a couple weeks. It has been very icy in Vermont , walking to the room from our car was very slick , and some of the landings outside were glare ice . The girl at the front desk offered to give us some rock salt to take with us and then discovered she didn’t have any . I suggest contracting someone to sand the lots and walkways before someone gets hurt . Tv was messed up, channels scrambled and not coming in. Girl at desk said they had recently switched her providers and there were issues . Overall the bed was comfy and our stay wasn’t bad , but there are definite needs for better housekeeping and maintenance . The girl at the desk whose name I don’t recall was so nice !

At check in was told there was a $250.00 deposit for the room on top of the $160.00 room charge. On arrival to the room the door was left open. The toilet tank lid was off and the utility room door was left open.

The room was dirty, the kitchen drawers were broken, and the power outlets were broken, which was a safety hazard. The carpet was torn. I stayed for five days, and housekeeping never cleaned the room, and the trash was overflowing. When it snowed, no one from the hotel cleared the sidewalks, which created a slip and fall hazard when going to breakfast. The laundry area was filthy and awful.

The receptionist was very attentive to our accommodation, but the rooms were dirty, the chairs were old and filthy, the table was wobbly, and the refrigerator shelf falls down when you open it. The pool is okay, but the hot tub has cold water instead of hot. Poor management; practically everything is falling apart. I need everything replaced. That's why I gave it this rating. I don't recommend staying there.

My only complaint was with the heating system. It's gas-fired and in a locked closet off the kitchenette. When it goes off and on, it is noisy, like any gas furnace. But it is not terrible. The bed was very comfortable, lots of hot water, the room was very clean, and nice, thick towels.

The bathroom had not been cleaned, the toilet was dirty. We registered three guests (myself and my two teenaged sons), but linens for the third guest were not provided. When we called to request linens (at 6pm), we were told all staff had left for the day and we would have to return to the front desk to get them ourselves. No one was at the front desk. Breakfast was an extreme minimalist take, with instant scrambled eggs, and a mix of other cheap carbs. You get what you pay for, I suppose.
