When I booked this hotel I thought I made a deal getting it for a smaller price. In the end, it looks like what you pay is what you get :( I had to pay 25 EUR/day to park the car in a parking place near by. I believe they can get better deals for hotel customers. I know is in the center of Budapest, but still. The room was not so clean as it should. I had a pair of underwear in the trash. The towels were more like grey instead of white. The breakfast in the morning was not that great. I would expect more from a 4 stars hotel. Overall it was OK but not great.
Hotel is centrally located a couple of minutes walk away from the Metro (Fővám tér). Reception is manned 24/7 and has friendly staff. Check-in was quick and easy. Our requested double room, with bath, in a quiet position with a kettle was fulfilled (you can request a kettle, they don't supply tea/coffee, but they offer free tea in the reception area 9 to 5). The room was just like the hotel's imagery with the Enjoy lettering on the back wall. We had a double bed, which was firm, but comfortable, with plenty of pillows and a spare blanket in the wardrobe. The room had a minibar, free bottle of water, hair dryer, body wash, shampoo, soap, body lotion, shoe shiner, TV, safe, modern bathroom with magnifying mirror and power socket. Room had plenty of storage, desk, chair and bedside tables with lamps. Temperature was controllable. Room was quiet (number 312). The cleaner changed the towels and fixed the room each day. The room had a free smartphone which could be used inside and outside of the hotel, and was installed with local tourist information. Upon checking in we were told it could be used to make free local and international phone calls, but we didn't try it out. The free wifi was stable and quick. Breakfast was in the attached restaurant. The breakfast room was compact for the amount of guests, but the staff were efficient and kept the tables clear and setup for all guests. I didn't notice anybody waiting. Breakfast was buffet style. There were 3 hot food containers with 2 options in each (6 in total). They changed the hot options everyday, which was great. They ranged from various sausages, omelettes, french toast, vegetable ragu. There was 3 types of cereal, 2 types of yogurts, 3 types of pastries, toasting bread (toaster took 3 attempts to brown) and rolls, salad, deli meats and cheeses, sliced fruit (pineapple, cherries), whole fruit bowl (kiwis, apples, oranges etc), dried fruit (sultanas, prunes, raisins, peaches), fresh juices (orange, graprefruit, plus another), milk, water, tea and coffee machines. They even had free sparkling wine on offer. The food was of good quality and was topped up regularly. There was a chef on hand to make fresh omelettes. We generally ate at 9am. To round up: We would recommend this hotel. It's ideally centrally located, clean, modern with a great breakfast. And at £48 per night, it was amazing value. Tips: 1. Catch 100E airport shuttle bus to Kálvin tér metro from the airport. It costs 900 HUF (£2.60). 2. Bus/Metro/Tram single journey cost HUF 350 (£1), remember to stamp your ticket when first boarding. 3. 24 hour travel card: HUF 1 650 (£4.80), 72 hour: HUF 4,150 (£12) 4. Visit the Király Spa Baths. It's the most authentic spa. Go in the morning and leave before 12. It will only cost you 1,300 HUF (£4). Adults only. 5. Visit the art deco & nouveau hotels for a drink in their stunning bars. Our favourites were the Continental Hotel's Gallery Cafe, New York Cafe, the Magyar Szecesszió Háza and the Gellert Thermal Baths. 6. Visit the lobby of the Four Seasons Hotel. 7. Our favourite bar was the Csendes Vintage Bar & Cafe. 8. Our favourite restaurant was Flour Style Wok.
Easily accessible via the subway from the airport. Room was clean and service was very friendly. Great shopping street nearby. Adjacent to the Central market and trams that will take you everywhere. It's not near the central area but easily accessible (there was no issue getting anywhere fast with the transit system) Great breakfast to get us going in the morning (complete with mimosas). Lots of restaurants and shopping nearby. I would recommend this hotel in a heartbeat!
The reception staff were exceptional. Late or early all of them were always willing to assist to make sure our trip was going well. Requests for a second room, early morning taxi, help in translations were met with a smile! Rooms while small, were tastefully decorated.
The hotel was very clean and modern and the room was very stylish , comfortable and cozy. The breakfast had a wide variety of options and everything was delicious and fresh. The staff was very kind, too. The location of the hotel is perfect, on Vaci street, which is probably the most famous street of Budapest, full of shops and restaurants. There is a metro station nearby as well (Fővám tér). Also, Liberty Bridge and the Danube river are just a few meters away. Totally recommended!
Good location at the top end of Vaci Street, across the road from The Great Market Hall (items much cheaper in here than the Christmas fair at the other end) & Fovam Ter metro station. Nice rooms, well equipped. Great idea to offer a smartphone for use when out & about, never had to use any of my data as Wi-Fi was free on the smartphone. Handy for Google maps when lost! Breakfast was fine. Small selection of hot food, few salad items, hams, cheeses, bread, juice, coffee etc. Fridge in the room so we went to the nearby Tesco for water/vodka 😊
Wonderful location.Right in centre for main streets. Christmas markets were a plus also beautifully decorated shop windows done with such care ! Couldn't fault the staff,so pleasant and helpful,in fact everything was great. would recommend to anyone visiting Budapest. Breakfast offered good selections,we were never hurried. Money wise, excellent value for money.
Very well located hotel with great rooms, we had an executive room which had great additional space to relax in, and an espresso machine! Breakfast included a good range of hot and cold foods, including Hungarian dishes.
We stayed here for 4 nights and had a wonderful stay. The hotel is on a pedestrian street Vaci utca, one of the main shopping streets, with loads of bars and restaurants and a Christmas Market further down. Only a few mins from the metro station (M4 green line) and the river/liberty bridge. We loved the colour scheme of the rooms and corridors, trendy but not too in your face. We had a twin room at the back of the hotel (room 506) which was really quiet and meant we slept well. The room was perfectly fine in terms of size, after all you're only sleeping there. Room had a wall mounted tv, mini bar/fridge, a free safe and plenty of storage room. The beds were comfy, and had plenty of pillows. The mini bar was decently priced too compared to most hotels although we didn't use it. The bathroom was spotlessly clean, offered a shower cubicle, rather than a bath which was fine for us. Free toiletries were provided and replenished when used. The towels were fine, but could've been a bit larger. We were surprised by the free to use smartphone provided in our room. It was brilliant, offering maps, info, recommendations etc so didn't have to use our own phones. Any photos taken could be uploaded to your own device or Facebook account later and all info was deleted upon checkout. Really valuable asset, wish more hotels did this!! The staff in the hotel were fabulous, helpful in offering recommendations for river cruises (Legenda river cruise inc a stop at Margaret island was brilliant). They booked our taxi for the airport and answered all of our little questions! The restaurant staff were always busy, replenishing the food and clearing tables efficiently. Special mention to our housekeeper (Tumy?), who did a fab job! The breakfast was served in the adjoining restaurant which isn't a particularly large room, but we always found room. The selection of food was fine, nothing out of the ordinary, but enough choice of hot and cold items. A few negatives; the orange juice wasn't proper juice which was disappointing, the cold milk for cereal wasn't cold (only room temperature) and the toaster was useless! In order to toast the bread it needed to go through the toaster at least 4 times, so not the most efficient, especially at busy times. Overall this hotel was fantastic for the price, £55 per night inc breakfast. We'd recommend for the location, the quiet comfy rooms and wonderful staff.
The hotel is located on Vaci Street, the pedestrian only main shopping street. Also 5 minutes walk to the Great Market Hall, Liberty Bridge, metro station, buses and trams. Staff at reception are great, knowledgeable and friendly with great ideas on things to see and do, offering good recommendations for restaurants too. Every afternoon is free tea and biscuits in the hotel foyer (see pic) while breakfast had lots of choices with hot and cold food, as well as cereal, juice etc (see pics). Staff are friendly and replenish food regularly. Hotel room was great - actually other reviewers say the room is small but they obviously don't travel through Europe much where rooms are typically tiny. The rooms here were big by Europe standards, plenty of room for 2 large suitcases, wardrobe, safe, TV & desk, excellent sleep in a comfy bed and even a mini fridge - very rare indeed (see pics). Free bottled water every day and a hot shower with excellent water pressure (see pics). The only downfall was the towels which are being slowly replaced with good ones, so you are likely to end up with the old thin crappy ones and maybe one new fluffy thick one. Free toiletries which were good quality. Excellent wifi and the best thing on offer is the use of a handheld device which has all the maps to every tourist location built in, a phone and text service, pictures and video capabilities to download to your own device, information on everything you want including transport options. This device was better than our iPhone & Samsung and it's free, all part of the service, then automatically deletes anything you've added to it (photos/video/saved locations) on checkout so your information is secure and only useable by you. Damn awesome!! I'm coming back to Budapest next year and will definitely be staying here again.
