Good basic easily accessible hotel. It’s next to a metro station. There is a pool & gym (although I didn’t get chance to use) Service is OK. The building is much nicer inside than it appears outside. There is a souvenir shop in reception
Excellent service - courteous staff - thank you very much for a lovely stay - Great sleep every night - Excellent facilities - We would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family - we will be back next year hopefully.
This is my fourth time at Danubius so I have something to compare it to. Food / found it a bit of a let down , items that I had ordered before had lost their sparkle , eg getting a club sandwich which was not properly toasted may sound petty but it was on top of two other meals that had failed to impress. Service in bistro was ok , some of waiting staff there could do with customer service lessons. Room - carpet dirty , patches of black stuff / took photos room 311. Reception- when I checked out one of the front office guys was nice , the other I actually paid looked at me like I was an alien 👽 not friendly at all which is not what I had there previously. Rooms also were made up way too late in the day , sometimes at 4pm my room was still dirty. All in all left hotel but disappointed.
The customer care was poor compared in comparison to other European hotels Location is good We booked a room four months in advance to find out it was not available !!! However after a debate a similar room was miraculously found !
Nice location, M2 easily reachable that means you will access inner city within a few minutes. Rooms are small with insuffient packing capacity. Wellness is small (only a pool and a sauna) but it is ok. The quality of the breakfast is ok but after some days it becomes really boring. Staff ok, but sometimes you shall wait long. (Since the hotel is crowded more staff members would be appropriated.)
Reception facilities poor often over crowded inadequate seating very noisy. Restaurant area not adequate waiting for table to be available no assistance from staff. May be number one hotel for corporate customers, no consideration for guests staying over longer periods. Very disappointed. This was our fifth visit in last 18 months and would neaver recommend anyone staying more than two days.
The initial reception was not friendly, some of the staff were rude and others were ok. The rooms had cups and a kettle but we were informed the the floor we stayed on did not have tea or coffee in the rooms - why not? we had to go and buy our own! Overall I felt we were treated as second class guests, I would not go back there or recommend it to others, it's a shame as it should have been a good place to stay. The other hotel (Amadeus) we have stayed at close by were much more welcoming and friendly. The restaurant was more like a school canteen and we decided not to use it, the coffee shop was better but limited
For the 12 days we stayed at the Danubius Hotel Arena we did not require cleaning every day but when we did request the room to be cleaned it was just a quick lick and a promise. The carpet had not been vacuumed for the whole 12 days. Under the bed was dust and cob webs even around the skirting behind the bed side cabinets. When we took the sheets off the bed on our last day prior to checking out we discovered stains on the mattress and mirrored on the mattress cover. Clearly the cleaning was not up to a 4 star standard or even a 1 star standard. As we were not in a group we did not manage to use the Oregano restaurant and had to use the Coffee bar Ala carte menu which was very basic but the staff were excellent. There was no where to relax and have a drink in the evenings as there are very few seats and at most times was filled up with young sports teams. The reception staff were excellent and helpful as were the Bell staff at the door.
The service is good but there's no one to talk with in the night so it was disappointing cause we usually were so hurry to go out in the morning so we forget to get from the service help and when we getting back it's too late and there's no service. The room was too small.. I took a room with my two friends and we barley could move there. The pillows were like too small and they didnt change their pocket in all the 4 days that we were there.. But the hotel is always clean in spite all the kiddos that coming to this hotel.. Budapest is amazing and beautiful we had a great time.. Thank u for everything.. In my opinion this hotel isn't for people who want to sit and relax is more for teens or people who wants to sleep eat and Budapesting:)
Stayed for 4 nights. 2 with Contiki and 2 solo. The Positives: This hotel is well catered and in a great location with Puskas station about 50 metres from the hotel. The rooms are clean and spacious with comfortable beds and good bathrooms. The breakfast was first class and the Swimming pool and WIFI is good. The Negatives: The filters for the air conditioner needs to be serviced as the air coming out were poor. The price for the rooms are quite high for what you get, with cheaper alternatives elsewhere. Patrons should be advised that this is a hotel used by Contiki and Top Deck (which I was on) so expect plenty of rowdy Australians/Americans making noise at 4AM. Consult with staff in order to get a good night's sleep.
