All the Rumours are true..... this is cool enough..... and easy, relaxing area during night time...been in town few times before and willing to find a new area to stay. We we're so happy and are coming back some day. Thank You!
My partner and I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights as part of a long weekend city break to Budapest. What a fantastic choice we made in staying at this hotel! The hotel offered complementary transfers from the airport to the hotel on arrival and this was greatly appreciated. Ok it was a shared transfer with two other couples, but this gave a great opportunity to see the city sights on arrival! So we arrived at the hotel and were greeted with a friendly welcome. A speedy and unobtrusive check in process and we were in our room within 10 minutes. Of course with only 25 rooms in the hotel, it didn't take long to find the room! Our room was one of the hotel's "Superior Rooms". This is the most basic room the hotel offers and this certainly lives up to its name. Very spacious, storage a plenty and great to have complementary bottled water too - certainly superior to a UK 4 star offering! The bathroom was again specious, along with being clean and practical. One massive positive is the provision of a free safe in the hotel room. This is a rarity and fantastic that the hotel does not unnecessarily charge its guests for this low cost facility. Two negatives from the room was that the mattress was very firm. If we had stayed any longer, we would have asked for a mattress topper to soften this up - this is something we note from reviews that the hotel have happily offered others in the past. The other issue was the low water pressure in the bathroom, however this is presumably an issue in the local area rather than the hotel itself. The hotel building itself has been beautifully converted from its original use. Retaining original looking brickwork in the reception area, with contemporary additions well blended in. The rooms are fully air conditioned for comfort, or windows are fully openable if you prefer. Breakfast was good - a typical continental offering. Lovely though to be in a breakfast room that was quiet and relaxed. This is another advantage of staying at a 25 room hotel. Finally the location of the hotel is just perfect. 10 minute flat walk from the castle and to head down, a 5 minute walk to the nearest bus stop. The 16 or 916 bus transport you up / down to ground level, taking you across the chain bridge into Pest also. HUF 450 / GBP 1.30 a ride payable to the driver, however we defiantly recommend the Budapest Card that gives unlimited bus, tube, tram and river travel + museum entries etc. The card cost us c. GBP 35 each for a 72 hour use. We would defiantly recommend this hotel to others, along with Budapest itself. Complements to all the staff for the great establishment you maintain and look forward to seeing you again in years to come - we will be back!
spacious room(junior suite) internet good service good location fabulous(near buda castle) breakfast not good at all- very few item, not tasty. need huge change in this to get good rating of hotel. no restaurant in hotel. very few number of good restaurant in the area- sometime its a problem.
Very comfortable and quiet bed and breakfast hotel. Noise was of a minimum within the hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. The room was clean, they did not change the beds but we were only there three nights. The towels were changed each day. There was a fresh bottle of water in the room each day. There was a large safe in the room. We walked down to Pest. We used the hotel transfer service to and from the airport as this is approximately 25km so a fifty minute drive. We bought forty eight hour hop on hop off bus tickets. These worked well but the pink stops at 4:00pm and the Green 8:00pm. We had to catch a number 16 bus back. Buy the ticket from the machine in the metro, this works out at about 100 forint less than on the bus. The bus requires exact change. Colin and Pamela
Friendly staff, spacious & very comfortable (2 level) room within the Old City with a short walk to some fantastic sights including "Hospital in the Hill. Grab a "Hop on, hop off" bus to get around town & enjoy the venicular back up the hill. Try one of 2 Spa baths. Local meals are delicious & good value. Don't forget the free walking tours in town.
Good for your rest and business trip. Good wifi speed. Quiet the street and near enough cafe and small restaurants. Confortable get to Pest ( another side of the river). Good breakfest for this money.
This is an ok hotel in a very quiet location. It's not as fashionable as it's made out to be ! It's comfortable if you like hard beds ! They did give us on request a topper for the mattress. We only had breakfast 1 time and that was enough. It was ok but not what we are use to in Europe. It was very German/Hungarian based. So we went to Starbucks after that. We did ask for a quiet room ! Got given No2 on the ground floor in the reception area by the front door!!! And yes you could here conversations in reception. The Anjou g room also in our bed room was tried to be opened at 6:am by the person following his very loud shower . So it was not so quiet . Do not accept room 1,2,4 or 4 . Albeit they are large clean with a great bathroom area. Will not be going back there again .
Very enjoyable stay in a beautiful location. Very large room for the price paid. Contrary to some reviews, the hotel provided a very enjoyable breakfast for what is a with prosecco to start the day! I Inward airport transfer was an added bonus
The hotel was in an excellent location close to the castle and museums but away from the centre of Pest. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was huge and with contemporary decor. The breakfast was disappointing with a limited choice.
This modern, boutique hotel was a great pleasure in which to spend a night after a long, hot day of hunting antiques for clients. Budapest can be quite hot, and the modern A/C was a real relief. Our room was in the roof - a duplex room with the bed perched over the living room - very nice and very quiet! Could be good for a family, if the kids are on the sofabed below. Cannot say enough positive things about the neighborhood, which is peppered with beautiful baroque houses and regal homes from the 17th and 18th centuries. Convenient to the Jamie Oliver restaurant at the end of the block, which has great food and pleasant staff. A 20-minute walk down the mountain (a good hike) gets you across the bridge and into the center. Great location!
