So the title says it all. This could be the filthiest hotel I've ever stayed at. It also didn't help that it's being re-roofed and many parking spots aren't available. There is a pool but it is out of service
To start with, there is no sign telling you you're at the Quality Inn. There's just a signpost with nothing on it. Once we figured out we were at the right place and checked in, my wife asked for an extra pillow. They didn't have one -- not a single extra pillow. The next morning the cleaning people let themselves into our room without knocking while we were still in the room. As we were going to the lobby for breakfast, we saw lots of litter around the parking lot. We told the cleaning people we were leaving for a while, and they entered the room again. An hour later, they still hadn't finished. After they finished, we noticed that the door was slightly ajar and the room was unlocked. Luckily, nothing was missing among our laptops and photo equipment. The same thing happened the next day, and we figured out that the door didn't fully close unless you pulled it shut -- unlike virtually all other 21st-century hotel doors. The final morning of our stay. The cleaning people tried to enter about 9 a.m., but the inside locks were engaged, so they couldn't barge in on us. Finally, the Wi-Fi was so weak I couldn't do any of the work I had to do and had to go to our son's house to use his Wi-Fi. This place is rub-down, poorly run and definitely not worthy of your business.
Let's see. I walk into room & the first thing I notice is the hook that is supposed to hold the curtain rod on the wall. It was so damaged I had to use the drapery rod to lift the entire curtain rod up over the hook so the curtain would close. I open the drawer in the dresser to find roach crap. I push back the microwave & it's dusty & has broken plastic under it. There was hair on the bathroom floor & in the tub, a pill on the floor, & panties shoved behind the headboard that was a cheap piece of wood falling off the mount that was supposed to be attached to the wall. The couch was dingy & dirty. The sheets on the bed were the same. I used a coffee kit to pick up underwear (that looked like they had been back there for some time) & took them to the desk in a bag. I informed the clerk that Victoria couldn't possibly keep all my secrets. They first told me they could not give me a refund because I paid cash & the clerk that had taken my money had left for day & shift had changed. There was also no manager available. The clerk asked me if I would like to "try a room cleaned by a different house keeper". I humored her & checked another room only because I was so exhausted from travel. Walked into second room to see more roach droppings & hair in tub. I went back & told her I can overlook a lot of things, but their lack of cleanliness was unacceptable. She dialed a manager to ask how to refund my money, then realized she only had (1) $100 bill in her drawer & she owed me $84. I reached into my wallet & gave her smaller bills in exchange for the $100 & she gave me $84 of it back. On my way out the clerk told me she wished she had some chocolate chip cookies to give me for my troubles. I assured her I wouldn't want any food item prepared or served anywhere on her premises. Zero stars.
The hotel is clean and comfortable and the desk clerk, Michelle, was very good. But the first morning we were there, the cleaning crew came in without knocking. The second morning, they knocked, but when we got back to the room mid-afternoon, the door was ajar. They hadn't closed it tightly. Fortunately, I had my laptop and camera equipment with me. Anyone could have walked in and helped themselves. You can have the nicest hotel in the world, but if the staff is careless enough to leave your door open, the quality of the accommodations means nothing.
This hotel was OK for one night. The room was clean, but the bed was not very comfortable and the bathroom was in bad need to renovation. The breakfast was pretty average, the selection of items is pretty much what you expect for this type of hotel.Anyway, I would recommend this hotel for travelers who do not feel like paying $150+ for a room, but want a clean place.
Stayed here on the way up north. There was an 18 wheel truck in the parking lot outside our room that would run its engine every 1/2 hour. I called the desk and asked if there was anything they could do since it was in their lot. I was told if I didn't like it I could check out.
The check-in was very pleasant with Michelle, very helpful and cordial. My room with one king size bed was quite spacious and also had a nice love seat to relax, even though it wasn't anywhere near the TV. The room was clean. The bed was a bit on the firm side but the pillows were great. The problem was the gap between the room curtain and the window. There was a gap and with the wall mirror mounted against the wall inside the interior door, someone standing outside your room would be able to look into your room and by viewing the mirror, would have a view of the bed. To solve this problem, I hooked the curtain on the safety-lock bar on the door, and this held the curtain sufficiently to block the view. See the attached photos where you can see the parking lot light in the mirror while sitting on the bed. Due to an urgent departure, I did not get a chance to discuss this with management. I hope they will make an effort to correct this problem before my return. Other than this, the room was comfortable, quiet and convenient parking right outside the door.
On our way to FL, we stopped at the SI across the street, but they would not honor my coupon for some reason. Their loss: this place was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Was it the Ritz? No, but that's not what I expected. The front desk lady was welcoming and helpful, which is nice after a long day on the road. Breakfast was good with a nice choice of hot and cold items. I would stay here again, but only with a coupon...
The motel has a deceptively bright, spacious lobby and a nice breakfast area (with a very good, hot breakfast), but the stairways, hallways, and rooms are disappointingly run down and grimy. My room was not dirty, mind you, but it was just not fresh, bright, and in perfect repair. My room had a room safe, which I like.
The room fan was somewhat noisy on the low setting. There's 3 towel sets, a full sized dbl door minifridge. A huge no is there is no TH guide scroll on any of the 32 channels even though the provider is Direct TV. Got to lay there an flip thru all children to see what's on each 1/2 hour. What a bummer. It has a good night's sleep however.
