Super hotel within a short walk of the main square, restaurants and places of interest very close to the canal. Loved staying here and will most likely return in the not too distant future. The room was very Flemish which we loved with an extremely comfortable bed, separate bathroom, toilet and shower room. The breakfast was delicious and varied and the hosts superb.
No review about this property would be complete without a comment on the hosts. Both are charming men who obviously work very hard to make the property the success that it is. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for them and that reflects throughout the hotel. Everything is in its place and there is a place for everything. Our room was spotless on arrival and when we returned each afternoon it was as though we had never been there. The room itself was comfortable and represented very good value for money. Breakfast was more than adequate and everything was promptly replenished as it ran down. Being located just off the centre of the town we were surprised about how quiet the hotel was.
I stayed there late October for 2 days. The room was quite small but clean and bautiful. The windows did open but the view was at the back and there was nothing to see unfortunately. The temprature was ok, although the radiators were always off. The bathroom was huge, it had bathtab AND a shower, you could say it was biggest than our room, and also very clean. The room didn't have a refidgerator, it had a TV and wifi. The staff was helpful and really calm. The only thing was that behind my door the brochure said the price per night was 71 euros and I payed 100, but I believe that is the bargain if you want to make a reservation p.s. I never understood if our room had free breakfast and never bothered to ask, so that's on me. I should stay there again, I liked it.
We stayed at this hotel for a long weekend to celebrate my birthday at the end of October. We were welcomed by Danny who was absolutely charming. He talked about Bruges with such passion and made the city all the more inviting. The room - was ample for what we needed, a place to sleep and recharge the batteries before heading back out for yet another walk around the cobbled streets of this amazing city. The decor I would describe as old fashioned newness! The bed was so comfortable I even asked if I could take the mattress home with me. The bathroom had a shower over the bath and decorated with what looked like marble or granite, but not being geologist I can’t be sure - but it looked fabulous! My only slight niggle was there are no tea making facilities in the room, although there is a kettle and coffee/tea in reception for all guests to use, but it was dodgy going up stairs or in the lift with two cups of hot coffee. The breakfast - continental style, had lots of choices and replenished regularly. All fresh and tasted great. We weren’t rushed to eat up and leave. Again we were welcomed every morning by Danny with a smile and a chat about our plans for the day. Thank you for a wonderful stay Danny & Reuben. We will return to Bruges and will definitely be staying at the Hotel Biskajer again. Karen & Mike Townley
What a gem! Excellent location - very close to city centre, but also quiet. Immaculately clean, tasteful, civilised. Dani and Reubens were superb hosts - friendly and helpful, with great tourist tips. Continental breakfast with freshly baked breads and pastries daily and good coffee. We could not have wanted anything more for our city break.
Hotel Biskajer is great! It is so close to the main old town yet so peaceful. The beds are ridiculously comfortable (in fact, I could do with one like that at home!) and the owners were so accommodating. We arrived in the morning and they stored our bags and even offered us an umbrella in case of rain. When we checked in we went upstairs and unfortunately (in our slightly inebriated, post 3 beers state) managed to go in to the wrong room. The poor lady in there nearly jumped out of her skin! Having found our room we were very impressed, it was well appointed and the shower was powerful. The owner popped up to check out key in the other room door but thankfully it turned out she just hadn’t shut the door properly and not that the keys were universal. We went out for the evening and made use of the vending machine for goodies on our return. I loved that it had beers and wine in it, inspired! The hot drink supplies were plentiful too. We didn’t have breakfast but the room looked very clean and tidy when we walked past. We were able to store our bags for the day before our return journey which was a huge bonus and the the fact that we were addressed by our names was just lovely. Not many places bother to go to that level of detail and it’s very refreshing. We’ll definitely stay at Hotel Biskajer next time we go to Bruges.
Friendly helpful staff, spotlessly clean great location a perfect hotel for city break, very quiet for a city hotel. The Continental Breakfast was set out fresh and topped as required. The reception closed at 8,pm - tea and coffee was left out for customers use and there was a handy vending machine for soft drinks and snacks. Nothing seemed too much trouble a nicely run small hotel. We stayed in rooms 204 & 205.
Great location ideally situated right in the centre of Bruges, close to restaurants and sights. Really friendly and helpful staff, well appointed rooms with a good continental breakfast. Would stay again anytime.
We have stayed here several times and still dont understand the negative reviews Dany & Ruben receive. We are always dealt with courteously, friendly, respectfully and with warmth. The hotel is in a great location for all of Brugge, in a quiet street, central to all things visitors may want to see but not near the bustle of late opening restaurants or bars. Rooms are of a good size, beds are large and amazing to sleep in and nicely decorated, as is the whole hotel. Breakfast is a large buffet selection, always refilled quickly if anything runs low. I love the fact you can make your own hot drinks downstairs in the evening using your cups from the room. Quick and easy to do. It is lovely to be greeted by your name and asked how you are or how you slept when you arrive at breakfast each morning. Dany & Ruben make our visits to Brugge exceptional, they are great people who work very hard at running a busy hotel but do this by themselves. They deserve time to themselves so i think an 8pm closure of reception is not a wrong thing. We thoroughly enjoy all our visits.
This hotel is just around the corner from the Van Eyck square and a short walk from the Grote Markt. Our room was spacious, stylishly decorated, and clean. There was no coffee machine in the room, but a note stated that one could make coffee or tea in the lobby. Biskajersplein is a quiet street, and there was no noise. Breakfast was solid, but not as opulent as at a major chain like Novotel.
