My sister, niece/goddaughter and I stayed at the guesthouse in the room facing the canal during our trip to Bruges. It was lovely. The room is quaint, clean, full of history and very spacious - plenty of room for 3 women~king size bed & a very comfortable rollaway bed. The hostess Lyne goes above & beyond to make every guest feel comfortable. She is a very attentive & gracious. The breakfast is amazing including a cappuccino/latte machine. The location couldn't be better-so close to everything :) The Exclusive Guesthouse Bonifacius is top notch!

I think it would be hard to beat this for a stay in Bruges. It's a beautiful old building dating back to the 14th century, a tourist destination in its own right, with luxuriously appointed rooms and service beyond compare. We were lucky to have a 'weather upgrade' while we were there which made the roof terrace a real treat at all time of day where we could relax in the sun and listen to the sounds of Bruges. Lyne is a most attentive host and ensures that every aspect of ones stay is crafted to perfection. We stayed in the canal view room but are sure that all rooms would be delightful.

From the very attractive boutique hotel entrance door, to the perfect location, to the warm owner welcome, to the cozyness of the room..everything is superb!!!!!! We spent an unforgettable week end, captured by the pleasant medieval atmosphere and by the beauties of the old house. We would have loved to stay longer. The breakfast is rich and abondant and is served in the living room where a big fireplace is lit. The old house is overlooking the canal where duks and swans gently swim under the Bonifacius bridge. It is a worthwhile stop!!!!!!

My husband and I just returned from a trip to Amsterdam, Bruges and Paris. We found The Bonifacius on line and it exceeded our expectations. Located in a narrow cobblestone road on the lip of a canal in this beautiful, historically important town, everything about the place was exceptional. Owned by the most gracious owner, Lynne, we were treated so well from the moment we arrived. She helped us find a rental car, directed us to places in town, booked restaurants - she is a star. Our room, complete with a four-poster bed, antiques and richly upholstered curtains and furniture featured a completely updated bathroom with a soaker tub and walk-in shower. The Bonifacius is a beautiful old home with lead-paned windows and a breakfast room that looks over the canal to a church across the water. Boats travelling the canals, always stop to photograph this home that looks like it came out of a Dickens novel. Everything is beautifully decorated, spotless and there is a coffee/tea machine in the lounge where you can help yourself to a hot drink and curl up on the couch in front of the fireplace. Breakfast was fantastic and Lynne's attention to every detail was amazing. There is a rooftop deck which would be lovely to sit on in the summer. We had a wonderful time and we highly recommend the Bonifacius to anyone travelling to Bruges.

This place is fabulous! The rooms are spotless and full of character, the hospitality is second to none. Breakfast is delicious too! Will definitely be back and recommend to friends. Having parking available nearby was an added bonus.

If you are thinking of booking this place, think no longer, just book it, you wont be disappointed. We had the Junior Suite and it was spacious, nice, quite and warm (we had snow) the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom large and well appointed with quality fittings . The free Mini bar was a lovely touch after we first checked in and was unpacking. The breakfast was superb, you do feel as though you are on a film set whilst having breakfast, as you can see people taking photos of the building from the bridge and opposite side and enviously trying to catch a look of who is living inside such a wonderful old building (dont worry they cannot see in). If you take a boat trip you also pass it. I am sure the sun terrace is superb in the warmer months, we didn't stay out too long in snow though. This place is so close to the main parts, yet is still down a quiet back street. Bruges is beautiful and the owners and staff are superb offering tips and looking after your bags on check out etc. This really is a unique and wonderful place and would recommend to anyone looking for that romantic getaway, its way better than a Hotel. Make sure you get directions to the Le Garre pub in between the 2 Squares - superb beer, without the normal tourists :) We walked from the train station, its an easy walk (although a bit noisy if you have wheeled suitcases on the cobbled streets)

I booked the canal side room for my husband's birthday after reading some excellent reviews and we were not disappointed. There is a very special atmosphere in Bruges and to be in the heart of such an historic setting for even two nights is a wonderful thing. Lyne has done such a great job with the decor in this private house - it can't be easy to get an authentic and historic feel while being totally comfortable and luxurious for the modern traveller at the same time. Coffee, chocolate, and a free minibar add to those modern comforts without doubt ! The roof terrace is also lovely. Watch the movie In Bruges and imagine Colin Farrell relaxing on your bed - yes it really happened! Thanks for a wonderful stay. The beer festival was a surprise bonus.

This Bed and Breakfast is very well located on one of the the canals, few steps from the Bruges Madona Museum. The owner welcomed us, she is an excellent hostess, everything was in excellent conditions, decorated with an exquisite taste. Breakfast was wonderful, and perfectly prepared. It was a pleasure to spend the night at this beautiful hotel in Bruges. We highly recommend it.

We stayed for a couple of nights in this wonderful guesthouse for our wedding anniversary, shortly before Christmas. The location could not have been bettered. It was so central, within easy walking distance of everything. It was beside a small and ancient bridge, and the guesthouse itself is so picturesque that tourists stop to take photos. Our room was magnificent; beautifully decorated, spacious and very comfortable, overlooking the canal. The super large bed was very comfortable and the bathroom modern and luxurious. Breakfasts were a highlight, starting with an amazing platter of fresh fruits and followed by a choice of cooked breakfast. We indulged in bacon and eggs - well, we were on holiday! There was also a selection of cheeses, cold meats and pastries all beautifully presented. Needless to say we couldn't manage much more than a snack at lunch time! The owner is charming, and couldn't be more helpful. We can't wait to get back to this wonderful guesthouse for another visit.

The Bonifacius Guesthouse was an ideal choice for us. We stayed for 7-days over Christmas. The location is pretty central, a short walk to everything of interest. Yet, it is a quiet, peaceful location at night. Lyne Vanhaecke, the owner, is charming and accommodating. More than willing to help you with anything you may need, eg., she made Christmas day dinner reservations for us at a very nice restaurant. We hadn't thought that far ahead and we were lucky to get reservations anywhere in town for that day and time. The B&B is in an old, picturesque building that has been remodeled very tastefully in a way that provides all the modern amenities. There are only 4 rooms. We stayed in the master suite with canal view. It was a good choice for us because it was so roomy and we were there for a week. Also, it has a king-size bed. Everything is clean and well appointed. The view of the Church of Our Lady with it's bells, and the canal with the swans, added wonderful ambience. Be aware, however, that you are staying in a B&B of historic interest and it is a landmark. The canal boat tours go by under your windows frequently and you get a blast of their spiel. Also, people are photographing it from the bridge and the other side of the canal all day long. For us, this was a source of amusement and didn't bother us. We felt privileged to be staying in a 16th century building. The breakfasts in the very pleasant breakfast room overlooking the canal were all you could ask. We've eaten breakfasts in some pretty glum breakfast rooms and this is as good as it gets. Being Christmas, there was a Christmas tree in the room adding to the atmosphere as well as a fire in the fireplace. The way the food is presented is elegant and the service was impeccable. Besides artistic fruit bowls, croissants, bread, butter, Nutella, honey, ham, cheeses, etc. you have your choice of hot eggs and bacon. If you play your cards right you're not even hungry again until dinner. You cannot go wrong staying here, it definitely enhanced our Christmas experience in Bruges and we would stay there again in a heartbeat. BTW, if anyone is wondering, 7-days in Bruges is not too much time if you enjoy architecture, museums, churches and Flemish art in addition to the more lighthearted commercial aspects of the town.
