A quirky hotel, large rooms but very hot in summer - no aircon. Rooms well maintained & comfortable but furnishings feel like going back to the late 1980s in style. Staff very friendly & helpful. Rooms surround a garden - great for sitting with a drink in the summer.

Bed was very small and hard. Did not sleep well at all. The bar menu said we could get food until 9.30 but when we tried to order at 9.20 we were told it was not possible. We were given a free drink and some crisps but were still left hungry!.The wine list said that they served rose wine, but we were told that they had none. Breakfast was a bit shambolic. We had cold toast and had to wait for more eggs to be cooked. Bacon was very hard and beans only slightly warm. We were very disappointed with the hotel as we had stayed before and it was much better.

Hotel is nice with lovely garden areas, but the room was a little tired with some rising damp on one wall/carpet and a very hard bed. I think refurbishment is probably needed now, but that would throw the price up. Overall it was ok.

Have stayed here before and found it clean and quiet , however this time our room was infested with ants , dirty glasses and plates left outside other rooms were covered in ants , hotel staff and management seem complacent offering little help

Very helpful and friendly staff, rooms comfortable although lack of aircon in summer meant the room was hot. Courtyard area outside the rooms is great for drinks. There are a couple of pubs within walking distance but the town is an uphill 30 minute walk.

I wanted to stay in a place that had history and felt uniquely English. This is why I picked Marygreen Manor. The garden was beautiful, the history was interesting, the staff were wonderful, the food was delicious, and the beds were so comfortable. I enjoyed having coffee on the lawn. It was so peaceful.

Room to hot no aircon

Hotel very dated, room cluttered with dark furniture. Air con not working, asked reception for another fan and was told we can not move you as fully booked just open your windows, great as they was open en but being on ground floor in main walkway proved an issue for security as the room could easily be broken into!!!!
