We stayed one night in mid July 2019. This hotel has pretensions to greatness, but like a Hollywood set, things start to look a bit shabby when you look closely. Set in a magnificent location in Burgerpark, the edifice is impressive. Staff were friendly and helpful, if not too outgoing. Our room, on the ground floor facing the central courtyard, was fitted out well but maintenance clearly has been ignored. The edges of the carpets were dirty, the shower did not work properly, going from cold to hot water without any warning and the shelf in the shower was falling off the wall. One of the bath towels was so raggedy and frayed that I'm pretty sure it would not have been acceptable in a Motel 6. One of the two sinks was clogged and would not drain. The drapes would not close completely no matter how we tugged and tried the pull cords. They have complimentary 'turn down' service, a pretension that we have always questioned, as we do not like people in our room without us there and because it's quite unnecessary in the 21st century. The carpeted stairs leading from the lobby to the first floor were very worn. Carpets in hallways were frayed on the edges and not particularly clean. The A/C in our room, despite running 24/7 could barely keep the room comfortably cool. The typical binder on the desk was peculiarly unhelpful, not having a sample of the hotel restaurant menu or any helpful details, such as the check out time or hours and cost of breakfast. Very surprising. We did not try the breakfast buffet, as at 25 Euros per person, the price cannot be called anything but a rip off. The week before we had stayed in a less expensive hotel and the breakfast buffet, complimentary, was one of the best we ever had. Being near the train station (10 minute walk) and conference center, I'm sure customers will continue to come. But, unless they focus on quality, a stumble lies ahead.
Lucky to spend a couple of nights here whilst visiting friends in Bremen. Excellent rooms and most enjoyable breakfast. Hotel is in a large park so peaceful and calm. It is within walking distance say 20 minutes of the city centre and there are trams near the park.
I was lucky enough on this trip to get a room with a wonderful view over the ceremonial pond or lake with the fountain, and it turned a little business trip into a joy. It even has a little dressing room! The service is friendly, and you get more smiles and genuine friendliness from the staff than one normally has a right to expect in Germany. The breakfast is superb. There is just a lot of space and an unhurried calm atmosphere about the place which does wonders. It’s right in the Bürgerpark (which I’ve also reviewed). Can’t wait to have an excuse to go back, even if I don’t strike as lucky with the room next time.
Top level hotel in Bremen, with very large, comfortable and clean rooms. The building is located in the middle of a vast park not far from the city centre. The service is excellent, with appropriate price.
Hotel is located in beautiful park setting. Gym is super big matching any professional gym with latest equipment. Also nice views from cardio machines. Spa with heated 365 days outdoor pool is great. But my room was very much 70ies style, and interior looked like it hadn’t been exchanged since then. That ruined it a bit. Only bathroom looked more new. Btw, most guests were 70ies as well. Age, that is.
This hotel is really good, a little walk away from the city center but easily done so not a problem. The rooms are large and modern each with a bathroom and a sitting area. We had a balcony which overlooked the lake which was lovely. The spa is amazing and heated outdoor pool perfect for the cold weather.
The location of the Dorint Park Hotel Bremen is superb being surrounded by lush park land and capped off by having a large man made ornamental lake out the front complete with fountain. When we drove up, we sadly noted that there was no one to help us with our luggage standing at the door. With this minor hiccup out of the way, the desk staff were polite and efficient in solving nay problems. We were allocated a marvellous room that was comfortable with a large, bright bathroom. The hotel's decor is somewhat dated, but, overall, the ambience is quite good. The major points that impress are the domed centre of the hotel which has an ornamental vaulted ceiling. It is a spectacular room perfect for functions. The (non smoking) bar is very cool. We avoided the Cuban Cigar lounge as we non smokers. The restaurant looks lovely, but the breakfast room is something else! Marvellous vaulted ceiling that must be at least 20 feet high with large windows that reach almost to the ceiling allowing an abundance of light and the glorious park land views. A truly magical place to consume breakfast! With some investment, the hotel could be raised to a standard befitting an upscale 5 star hotel. Sadly, Dorint generally specialise in soulless 4 star business type hotels, so it is difficult to imagine that they would have the will to make the necessary investment required to bring this venerable hotel back to its very best. Either way, it is the best hotel in all of Bremen, so we would not dream of staying anywhere else when we return.
What a classy place! The rooms are incredible and the Spa is great. Even the bar and nightclub are international standard. But the restaurant is a let-down. The menus is small already and yet not really always available. The waiting staff is friendly but totally un-trained and clueless about how to serve in an establishment of such provenance. They don’t understand an order in English, they mess up everything one says and never apologize for their mistakes. They did not serve what we ordered, they blamed us for their mistake and they did not attend our table of 4 unless we made some noise. What the heck are they doing? We were absolutely speechless. The hotel management needs to address the trainings status of their staff and the DORINT brand cannot deliver such a product. We travel a lot, but this hotel restaurant takes the crown of being out of place. Also, there is no luggage service nor valet. Excuse me, those are absolute minimal requirements for a upscale hotel. The place is so beautiful, it deserves to be excellent. Please fix it. We love this hotel otherwise.
Walking into the Dorint in Bremen is liking walking into the set of a Sean Connery-era Bond film. The staff in impeccable livery great you with deep respect, and will go to great lengths to solve any problem you might face. The decor is dated, but not offensively so. The old aesthetic is more than compensated for with the spa and heated pool. The grandest touch is the Cuban cigar lounge— a rare treat indeed. My favorite feature was the breakfast room — it gazes out upon the park, and lets in a flood of morning light through its soaring floor to ceiling windows. The food is delicious too. The whole place exudes a high order of civilization that is seldom seen these days.
We were referred there postoperatively from the Stenum Hospital in Ganderkesee for massage by physical therapist and physiotherapy at the beautiful spa. The hotel was very nice, had a variety of restaurants and cafe. The front desk clerks were helpful. The daily breakfast that was included with our room was a wonderful cuisine experience without leaving the Park Hotel, it was excellent. The room service was punctual and the food was delicious. We plan to return in the Spring.
